Yes, probably. In my case it was a company car, insured by them and I didn't really worried about that. But you're right, its all fine when nothing happens but in case of serious accident you could be in serious shit.
just want to confirm when you say IDL do you mean IDP 1949 international driving permit?

The virus that causes COVID-19 can potentially be spread through money. However, it's unlikely to cause the COVID-19 illness in humans. A recent study has shown that the virus that causes COVID-19 can survive on solid surfaces like coins for up to four days and on paper like cash for up to three hours, but the virus was no longer infectious (viable) after that point. There has been no rigorous research to conclude or disprove that COVID-19 can be easily spread through coins and paper money otherwise. Therefore, the risk of catching COVID-19 from the virus sticking to money is very low. However, it is best practice in general to wash your hands and avoid touching your face after touching money. The virus that causes COVID-19 is primarily spread through person-to-person contact, especially if you are in close contact with another person (within about 6 feet or 2 meters). Since we do not yet fully understand all the ways the virus could spread, it would be a good practice to be vigilant with money just as any other potential contaminated surface, and wash your hands with soap after touching it.

. . .
The WHO has clarified that they aren't warning people against using paper money due to coronavirus
In the UK cash is not paper anymore, it is plastic! Same characteristics as coins.

I bet you wear a condom when getting a blow job. 🤣
But there is a clear benefit to NOT wearing a condom and no potential risk! But there is no benefit to pay by cash. In actual fact it takes longer and has a risk factor.
3million people have died from corvid. What % has died by spreading the disease by using cash?

But you must agree it is nice to go into a supermarket and buy, Wine Chocolate and Cheese so cheap.

I can categorically deny ever having had a sexual relationship with any street corner hooker cheap or otherwise.
What you mean she was not on a corner, so she was just a "Street hooker"!

You do realise that C19 can be spread by exchanging money. Why take the risk to you and other, when there is no need to!

Any pictures of Pattaya at night. I understand bars are shut, but restaurants are open but no alcohol. Is there still a curfew? what are the times?
Do you still get girls on the street?

I'm glad I could not answer that one!

Yes mate, I understand the concept of Goodwill. I also understand that they moved out and somebody else moved in, such they were 2 unconnected independent business transactions. But Phil said that the new name only contained the word "Heaven" not " Heavens Above". Of course if it was a blatant copy and called "Heaven's a Dove" then I would understand.
Is it only because they moved into the same location or is no other business in Pattaya allowed to use "Heaven" in their name?
Perhaps he converted existing sign to save money. If the old sign was left!

Thanks guys, that's given me something to do!

Are property prices up or down during this pandemic?
I'm going to search the web but does anyone know of a good site to view?

That area is in my view so run down, that I can not see anyone developing one small part of it. It needs someone to buy the whole area, flatten the same and then develop from there, in my view.
Thanks for the update. Will be interesting to see what they built there, most probably a hotel!

If you are out and about down Soi 8 and Beach Rd, I would like to know what is being built from Sailor Bar to Beach Rd. Last time I saw it, it had been demolished, but I don't know what went in its place if anything yet!

Good point but most bars I go to involve buying one drink and I am still lagging behind those in my group.
When in town I find myself involved in many drinking sessions at the Rockhouse. I am one of the slowest drinkers and I usually opt out of one or two of the drinks rounds bought by others over the night although I usually find another beer sitting there before I have finished my present one.
I suppose if on a budget and drinking slowly some should opt to sit away from those sessions but over the years you spot the guys who sit in on every round until it is their turn but make some feeble excuse to leave. Alex is very good at keeping the rounds going and those sessions are presently missed.
Yes I stayed at the rock house about 8yrs ago and joined in on one of the sessions. The drinking was far to pacey for me. if you live in Pattaya and happy to waste a night just drinking in same place, then I can see the attraction. But at that time I only came for 1 month, and wanted to get around and see other places. The fun was move around and take a different girl every night. Sometimes it takes me 9hrs to find the right girl 55555

Yes it is just smart marketing. I have walked away without drinking the second beer but offering 2 beers at a reasonable price is just a way to try and get you to stay longer and therefore possibly enabling the girls to entertain you while hopefully getting ladies drinks.
They probably don't really want the guy who is going to take up a seat at a table and sip on 2 beers for an hour without spending money on companions, there are other places to do that.
I look at the total cost for the intro beer of where I am not the fact that I have to drink 2 beers. I suppose if it is not value for you then there are other places to take your buck.
It's just another angle, a lot of bars offering a differing business model, nothing wrong with that.
The main advantage of the two beer policy for the bar is that in a group after two beers, every one will be drinking at different stages. some will have drunk both beer and other will just starting the second. So instead of leaving and going to another bar, more beers will be ordered. I mostly go to Kilkenny as the beer cheaper it's not so noisy and better pool table. Also you can see the totty better!

I am probably 30 years or more older than you so the pace in Hua Hin is ideal for me and I understand those that are young and like to party then Phuket or Pattaya may be better placed.
Again you will no doubt have been to some Thai clubs and if in good company age doesn't tend to be a major issue as everybody is just having a great time.
Just for your info if you are in Hua Hin again there is a great club at the end of Soi 94 (corner Phetkasem road) called East Rooftop which is in the G building on the top floor. It is a place where a lot of the beautiful locals go, been many times and loved it each time. May only be the 8th floor but a great place to begin or end the night.
A Thai friend of mine owns the building so that is how I was lucky enough to find it.
If you got Facebook the link below gives info.
I've only been to HH the once, and took my own company, but there was plenty of freelancers available. I don't know which Soi it was but we liked the Panama Bar.

It seems the Chinese are turning their attention towards Kampot. This is one reason Cambodia has never really appealed to me as an alternative to Thailand. I really enjoy Phnom Penh and the bar scene there is better value for money than Pattaya for me, and probably more fun as well. However, Cambodia just doesn't have the same infrastructure, comforts and attractions as Thailand. Phnom Penh is great for 5 days to a week, but I couldn't stay there for any longer.
About 10yrs ago I hired a Susuki250 trail bike and rode it down to Kampot, before the road was tarmac. When we arrived we were completely red from road dust. At that time Snooky had the old beach huts, just sit outside drink beer and order food. Simple pleasures I would love to do now! One day we ordered a happy Pizza, I was happy (paranoid) for 30hrs! 5555

And how many posts are specifically about new closures and updates? Majority of posts are about the bar industry in general. You don't need to over mod the forum.
If you are talking about bars that is an update, so it is covered!

Soi LK Metro is small in comparison to Soi 7 and 8 combined though. I remember 15 odd years ago these sois were party central every night. The bars are still there for the most part just no more girls or customers sadly.
They were just too expensive, and it was so annoying when you could hear all the music from other bars.
The BF were ridiculous. I stop going to Soi 7 & 8 about 8yrs ago, much prefer a quiet cheaper bar and play pool. Never BF just call a girl up and she would come meet me in bar. Very often she would bring a friend and then see her the next night or together. Hope to return in about 3-4 months.

I don't know how they can possibly attract investors with deep enough pockets (and willing to take on the level of inherent risk) who can provide the amount of financing that would be necessary to even scratch the surface of what would be needed to "make over" Pattaya into a "family destination".
Come on FFS !!! I don't see that happening. They have been talking about "family destination" for years. In my view that ain't happening, if so at a snails pace. Any families that do make it there will take a look around them and think WTF ???
They will head back home, tell all their friends (who were considering an inexpensive place to take the kids on a dream vacation) that the place looks like Hiroshima after the bomb dropped. Then they will call up their travel agent who sold them the package and cuss them out. One thing for sure, they won't be returning a second time.
Pattaya was a small fishing village until the Vietnam War started. Then it grew into the worlds biggest whore house. Over 50 fucking years ago. Does anyone really think they are going to be able to shake that label ? It's change some here and there, sure. But really it is what it is and always will be.
You can't put lipstick on a pig !

Thailand Banks are going to collapse?

Can someone tell me how the bank operate if they repossess a house?
My girlfriend sister borrowed 1m B from a bank and gave deeds to a 4mb house.
Business went tits up and did not pay load for 4months.
In the UK the bank would reposes the house and then sell on open market. Once sold it would take out all there fees and return any surplus to the original owner.
How does it work in Thailand?
I'm told the bank takes the house, sells it and keeps the whole lot!
