For Brits here. When thinking back to your first wage packet, I found this site which gives you an idea of what that wage was worth in today's money
https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/monetary-policy/inflation/inflation-calculator
I am sure there will be other country equivalent websites.

Okay, most of you know my current situation, in that I’m not working and not struggling financially.
But I want to get back doing something that gets me out the house.
So I’m really looking for ideas about what to do, rather than just a regular job.
I have been thinking about buying a van and working self employed delivering parcels.
Just fancy something different to a regular job, I can choose my hours to work etc.
Any input is welcome thanks.
Firstly I would think about what you enjoy most, what transferable skills you have. I jave no idea what your assets are but you could always think about buying property to let. Bricks and mortar always fairly solid investment.
You could always retrain to do something you are interested in. Motorcycle mechanic for instance.
Delivery driving is very stressful. I know a few people who do it and the financial towards are not great.
You could try courier work using your motorbike first and see how that works out first
Also, as it has-been mentioned Voluntary work say in a cancer hospital not a bad Idea. That's what I did after I was cured
Just a few thoughts

Are you sure it's First class not on offer ?
Good point. BA generally offer 4 classes of seat
Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class. I think the article only related to First Class that will not be on offer.
I am sure as time goes by, it will be a little clearer.

I'd say BA is a tad slow with those two destinations.
Interesting in the article is the mention of the A380, I thought BA wasn't going to use them anymore.
I think they will use a 777

Showing £669 LGW to BKK rtn (Economy) in November when I had a look just now on Skyscanner
Those flying times would suit me and I am not far from Gatwick either.
Hoping I can get cheap Biz class on my mates Staff concessions. Will have to wait and see.

The one thing airlines can never get right is a good English breakfast as we know it. An omelette and a sausage is normally the nearest as its prepared and packed pre flight Never had cornflakes with milk either. That's why I just have croissant, some huice and a couple of cups of coffee.

F1
in Sports Talk
Did any other F1 fans think that the first race of the season in Bahrain was rather lacklustre? I certainly did. Not much wheel to wheel racing apart from Sainz

You should have used the tray attached to the back of the seat in front 😁😁

I may start taking my own food with me

Generally,I hate it. The only decent meals I have ever had was in Biz class served on a proper plate with a choice of wines and cheeses etc.
I find food in Economy ( which I normally use) to be almost inedible apart from the yoghurt pot, fruit and cheese and biscuits
I can honestly say that I have never finished one of those two choice reheated meals on an airplane
I normally eat at the airport before boarding. I am more interested in the drinks section of the trolley.
That said I never expect anything different in economy on my 2 Airlines of choice when flying long haul.
I suspect prison food is slightly better🙂

"These lovely customers enjoyed our Belgian beers, our French wine, and loved our best tenderloin. Only one small problem, They were so happy that they left without paying. If somebody knows them, or sees one of them, can you please ask to come back @ Mai Thai Cuisine and pay their bill? 🙏"
Totally unacceptable. They ordered expensive items and paying the bill was not something that they merely forgot about. Scum.of the earth and certainly not representatives of the average tourist. They have probably gotten away with it too. How do these kind of people sleep at night.

I must admit that I probably have wasted money pm my last few trips.
Stayed in a hotel with a pool a gym and it's own restaurant. How many times did I use any of those facilities? None 😁

Just checked and the Eva flight pretty much arrived on time for a change.
Hopefully they are getting their act together.
Yes BR67 but took ages to park up and disembark. Then big queue at immigration. Finally home at last and having a few duty free vodkas before retiring to bed.
