  1. In a previous blog, Sweeny spoke about the "first class insurance, from a reputable company", that he had paid £1100 for. He said he had declared high blood pressure and taking medication for it, and high cholesterol and being on statins, and from experience of declaring pre-existing conditions, they are covered, although the premium is increased to cover any risk, unless he was able to exclude those pre existing conditions from the policy and reduce the cost.

My concern is if he had contacted them as soon as this all kicked off, they would be involved and been able to reduce their costs. As it is, things have got worse, and therefore are likely to cost the insurers more, and, as we all know, they don't like paying more than the minimum....

Chances are, if the insurers had been involved from the start, he'd have been scanned (mri, like he had today), stableised, and be in an nhs hospital by now, having flown business with a medical companion.

I bought one for 100 quid back in the day for my wife when she passed her test. It was a rust bucket, but I told her I would buy something better after she had trashed it.

To my surprise,  she turned into a good driver,so I treated her to a mini metro! 🤣

I paid 70 quid for one in the early 90s, and that included 8 months tax and mot.

When I went to get it tested after the 8 months was up, the tester looked at me and asked if I really wanted to waste the test fee.

It wasn't called the tatty datty for no reason....!

  3. I don't understand why he doesn't get his travel insurance, that he claims to have, involved? As I understand it, they would organise getting him fit for travel, then get him back to the uk, with a medical chaperone if needed. They would not treat him in Thailand unless he was medically unfit to travel.

    Strange...

I have tinnitus as well. It's gotten worse over the years, but I manage to ignore the constant ringing in my right ear. If I didn't, it would drive me batshit crazy.

I go through ups and downs with my tinnitus.  Its usually really bad in the middle of the night if I wake up, but sometimes can go days without noticing it. When it's bad, I find hearing quiet voices, especially in an echo-ey room, quite difficult though the tinnitus...

If they can stay fit then Archer & Wood in tandem should be pretty tasty on Windies wickets in the upcoming WC.

Agreed  but it's a big IF....
