If it's only you using it you don't need the adjustment. Can you set it to the height you wany and then fix it in place? Maybe a big jubilee clip or other clamp to stop the cylinder sliding down.

Thanks for your post, i got a new piston/sleeve from Lazada 15 mins to fit and bob's yer uncle.

    Hi khun PP.

My wife's son did our extension and roofing and did a nit half bad job of it too. He doesn't speak our tongue so you would have to go through (sorry) Mrs PP but his work was quick and, from what I can see, pretty good quality certainly comparable to the UK.

Let me know if it is of interest and I will see how busy he is. He lives in chock chai as does most of his team. He was deeply involved in the suratnaree development but does smaller jobs too.

I found his prices were not bad either

Thank you so much, i am more than interested. The first job i would like done is the refurbishment of our bathrooms, the tile grouting etc, i then need the garden wall repainting and the list goes on...i'm more than happy to wait until he can do.

I'm quite happy paying a good price for a good job. I have to say the work he has done for you looks a great professional job, just what i am looking for.

My brother had a slide ruler in his desk drawer. I remember looking at it thinking... WTF ?

I was looking for his weed stash anyway. Math was low on my priority list at that time.

Then they came out with those TI calculators. By that time I was even more confused.

    Love it :default_party-smiley-048:

My dad gave me a slide rule when I started college as I was majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Nice gesture, and I knew how to use one as it was still being taught and used when I was in HS, but by the time I started college they were replaced with multi-function, programmable calculators. Mine was a 2nd hand HP-65 that someone was selling cheap so they could buy the latest and greatest model.

For the nerds and geeks out there, remember RPN?

@Pumpuynarak Beautiful yard Cliff.....well done. We pay 500 baht per month for 24/7 security, one way in, one way out, with that though, every Sat the village street sweepers come by on foot and clean up every house in front of leaves, other various debris etc. If you want more, you have to pay them to come inside your yard for various things. Do you have that too there?

Love your huge lot, unfortunately at wifey's house here, none of them are that large.....I trim the few things she does have.....but not in this fucking weather LOL! This tree here, I was out there for 10 minutes the other day.....that was it. It can wait LOL!

Your wife is looking great these days.....it's hot outside now, don't be out chasing her around the front yard with a "woodie" The neighbors might see you :default_458:

Thanks Mike, nahh we don't get any assistance with cleaning the road or security, our Thai neighbours just won't pay for it. The road imo looks a mess well other than our frontage which wifey regularly cleans, you won't ever get me out there cleaning or tending to the garden its just toooooooo damn hot !!!

Our gardener comes twice a month and we pay him 1200bht for the big job (4-5 hours) and 500bht for the small version (2 hours). The standard of his work is not up to English standards but for what we are paying its ok, he don't know what a fork or a spade is for tending the flower beds/lawn edging, he just uses a Thai type tool that i've never seen before and needless to say it don't end up looking as good as it could. TIT mate :default_ermm:

When we bought our house we bought two plots of land, one for the house and one for the garden but now after 17 years of ownership we have a few major refurbishment jobs needing doing but we just can't get suitably competent workers to carry out, one of the problems with living in Korat/Isaan.

Yep just like your wifey my wifey looks after herself in every respect and we reap the rewards ehh lol

Coming to Thailand and meeting our ladies was akin to winning the lotto imo lol

tech is incredible. I've just purchased a Galaxy smart watch from Duty free.

I can call someone on the other side of the world and talk to them with a watch on my wrist. It measures all my heart rate etc and even tells me the quality of the sleep I had last night.

It also tracks and tells me when there's an unidentified Air tag near to me with an alert to my phone, which I find incredible as air tags are apple and my phone's an android.

Who knows what it'll be like in 5 years time.

So you have to wear it to bed ?

Just collected and paid for one of two new cars.
    Damn that invoice hurt. 🤨

Gotta do it again next week. 😫
Taking the wife out in it tomorrow to get her used to all the features, many of which even I’m not familiar with.
All this automated driving is stupid as far as I’m concerned, I’m old school and like to do the actual driving, not leave it to some algorithm dreamt up by a 14 year old kid in his mom’s cellar. 🤨

Bingo, i have been put off buying a new Fortuner because of what you say.

    It's not there mate..

You showed me your pension then below that the government pension..

    mine is

    Aviva

    Nokia

    MOD

    Then nothing ..

Same same all previous years .. I always get a tax refund though ..

Perhaps it is because I am in a lower tax bracket than you .. (Mine is about one quarter of yours !!!!)

I am surprised they are not showing your state pension as it forms part of your income, so how are you able to check that you are not being overcharged tax cos your state pension is increasing each year by the triple lock increases that in truth you are not receiving.

Same same all previous years .. I always get a tax refund though ..           THE MIND BOGGLES lol

    2 years ago I guess ...I will be 68 in December .. I get confused ..

So your state pension will be showing on your HMRC account, check that it is the correct amount for the current tax year, also check previous years. When i cottoned on to what was happening i initially got a refund of over £350 but since i now check every year i just get the amount adjusted to the correct figure.

  12. 45 minutes ago, Derek Dangleberries said:

Aaaah.. My pension didn't start until after the triple lock started so didn't qualify any way ...

    You old bastard ...!!

When did you start drawing the state pension ? if you are in receipt of it you need to check that they are not imposing the TL increases, my pissey ass weekly benefit is £124 per week and they have me down as receiving £134 and are taxing me accordingly.

I have raised a query online with them and am awaiting a reply, sure enough they will check eventually and adjust to reflect the true figure. I have had to do this for the last few years and i'm not alone many expat farangs are having the same problem.

    You need to check.

When I log onto my Gateway account it lists my pensions and their worth then totals them to the taxable amounts...

At what stage should I check for increased tax liability ??

Have a lookie at your State Pension weekly amount after 6th April each year, its quoted along with any company pensions you may have. You will note the amount is increasing each year in line with the triple lock increase which you are not receiving.

The only way to get this corrected is to contact HMRC.

    • Thanks 1
  14. Are you aware that the UK HMRC are for whatever reason assuming we are receiving the triple lock state pension increases and increasing our tax liability accordingly. This has been an ongoing problem for me and others for many years and i always look at my HMRC tax account and then inform them of their error.

It gets duly corrected but it takes them time and YOU have to initiate to receive the correction, be warned.......

  15. Would you f****** believe the mugshots i had done are 50mm x 40mm despite me giving them the correct dimensions 45mm x 35mm. No probs i've just cut them down to the correct size, after all said and done they only charged me 140bht for 12 mugshots lol
