not sure how I missed this post @galenkia - Ever since Louie Theroux did his doco on JS, I've had a morbid interest on how he was protected by so many, and how he managed to get away with it.

There's a comedian called Jerry Sadowitz who was effectively banned by the BBC and other channels (apart from CH4) because he had some very accurate and outspoken views on JS baxck in the 80's and 90's which , it turns out, were all true and accurate.

Going to check this out tonight.

I loved Jerry Sadowitz never knew he clocked Saville as wrong 'un.

The Netflix doc is good and well put together but the book Hiding in Plain Sight is much better.

Its terrifying on reflection how he got away with it all that charity bollocks he did  ..... Jerry Sadowitz said his favourite ever joke was Angus the ..... look it up.

Is there such a thing as Thai Food in reality?

Is Thai food any different to Cambodian food or food on Lao?

Should it be referred to as South East Asian Food?

There is JL regional Thai food and 10000000% Isaan food. I'll invite you up to our restaurant its a unique cuisine to Thailand.

The rest is fusion food nothing wrong with that before the Woke brigade jump in but yes Isaan / Lao food is Thaiand's real food.

Bit like roast beef and Yorkshire round your way ..... now go and sort out your cricket club ..... hope Michael Vaughan will be OK.

A few years ago...back when I stayed at Rancho Isaan...the neighbors built a little cottage for their daughter.

Turns out she was using it to discreetly service a number of local gov'mint officials. No worries, right?

I've also seen many roadside "karaoke" clubs in other parts of Isaan. Just part of the local economy. No big.

These roadside karaoke are everywhere in Isaan when you know the area. Mostly owned and controlled by the boys in brown I have been very reliably informed. Ages seem to range from grandma Ma Crockett to I dread to think.

Mostly little roadside shakes lit up like Santa's grotto with fairy lights.

  6. Never seen Thai Lounge so busy as last night. It's huge these days with at least 3 bars and loads of buffets for every taste.

I'm not a spirits drinker but unlimited if that is your thing. Food looked really good too and they kept changing it.

Only downside one really noisy Indian (again) jabbering away loudly on his phone and then a sodding Russian starts barking out loudly too. Lounges are usually so quiet and peaceful ...... great places before flying.

  7. Just try not to get a lounge that has flights to Mumbai or Delhi.

Remember back in the day just before boarding Indians literally pulling everything out of fridges, buffets and stuffing them into bags almost frenzied. Poor old Thai staff tried their best but horrible sight ....... not seen it for a few years so ...

Sikhs are however great fun in the lounges and usually prop up the bars great company.

Posted elsewhere about airline check in via Austrian Air. Wanted copies of every damn thing was a disgrace but just a warning even now. Print everything and sod saving on your phone.

Things are better now thanks mate, moved into a new place on Tuesday,so away from the cause of my recent problems.

Spent 10 days in a Travelodge before that so was living on a diet of takeaway shit basically. Nice to get back to normality.

Hope all's well with you mate 🙂

Good to hear mate was getting worried about you. Thought some old black and white Crimewatch footage of you in your QPR following days had appeared on the internet ...

..... I'm up in the Boonies in Isaan chilling and sweltering if you get my drift.

Loving it to be honest .... peace and love my bro. !!!

.... he wouldn't eat it either...

Tiz the worst place I have been to for breakfast in Pattaya...Closely followed by the cold, greasy, muck they served up in Retox on Lengkee.

Take it you've never had the nearby Canterbury Tales breakfast special .............. you can always throw up behind one of the bookshelves if need be.

PS I drive a small urban run around car and its over £50 / £55 to fill it up and I don't drive much these days thank the good Lord Buddha.

Wouldn't give the I Rovers 129 baht breakfast to my dog.

    OK I don't own a dog but .....

  13. Like Tommy D. know too many similar stories. The ones that get me are the ones that get rinsed more than once.

The Brit high speed train driver on great money. Lost two houses cars etc and last time I met him up in the boonies he was asking me about a girl he had just brought back from Pattaya ................ aaarggh ...... sadly he dropped dead last I heard.

Aussie skilled boat builder houses land all his savings gone ..... she was in hook to a local Thai / Chinese mafia nasty piece of work.

Ex-army smart guy lost .......... list could go on and on. It is mainly gambling rather than drugs etc ...

  14. Two of my favourite writers at the same time. I up in Isaan watching the rice grow and dogs scratching themselves so ....... beautiful day after pouring rain yesterday.

Douglas Murray's book is brilliantly written and argued but so depressing in that so many people follow this unthinking / woke / CRT / Buy Large Mansions/ my lived truth--- agenda. Everyone should read it and argue back when you hear nonsensical dangerous arguments. He does even get into the eco / animal rebellion lot but yep nearly finished it.

The other did not know about until I saw it in the airport. Read everything this man has ever written and this one is a humdinger zinger ..... reads like a detective thriller and yet you know where it is going. People who foresee the Covid pandemic and what happened next ........ fabulous writer Michael Lewis.
