    This applies to UK departures.

Update to this thread to clear up the LFT/ RT-PCR confusion:

(Note: One Health Pass can be registered for 72 hours pre departure. E-HDC Must be updated no earlier than 24 hours of departure from Country of origin. For trips which take longer than 24 hours, consult the airline / Philgov website)

Upon receipt of a negative covid 19 test specified follows:

48 Hour prior to departure from Country of origin a negative RT-PCR or a 24 Hour Laboratory based (NOT home self test kit) Negative Rapid Antigen Test along with a UKAS Company Certified Fit to Fly Certificate in both cases. Electronic copies are accepted by some, but not all Airlines thus hard copies preferred. Philippine Immigration accepts electronic copies.

    Next Step:

Update the One Health Pass and also no earlier than 24 hours prior to departure, update the E-DHC and acquire the QR code and save to your phone for presentation at Port of Departure and Philippine Immigration.

    In essence:

Fit to fly Cert showing negative RT-PCR max 48 hours prior to departure

Fit to fly cert showing negative Rapid Antigen test Max 24 hours prior to departure

    One Health Pass updated.

EDHC Declaration QR code max 24 hours prior to departure.

    As an edit in:

If your airline requests a PCR to fly with them, then you will need that. However, at the moment most , if not all Airlines are requiring that as long as the final destination requirements are met, then that is accepted for boarding.

For example, Singapore Airlines require transit pax in Singapore to meet the requirements of their destination only.

Words like fcuk that for a game of soldiers springs to mind ..... joke but not funny on behalf of Flippers. Authoritarian governments love all this control shite ..... look at Splurgeon in Scotland.

I forgot my favourite bar up in Korat, the Monkey Bar pre Covid was a very welcome breath of fresh air up there & it's recently re-opened so I'm hoping it hasn't changed.

Pool, darts, some really good Thai bands, good food and some beautiful waitresses which are nice girls so if any of you go up there keep your hands off or you'll probably be thrown out😂.

@Pumpuynarak Have you been there recently?

I'm 99% sure its closed most bars and pubs in Korat are.

    Restaurants are open however .......

I am in Bangkok I've got a Lenovo ThinkPad 3rd generation it only had 4 gig of RAM and it would freeze up run pretty slow from time to time I would just put up with it. But I decided since I'm here I'll go to Fortune mall and see if I can get an 8 gig stick of DDR3 memory.

I know it's New Years here in Thailand but I figured some of the places would be open in fortune and I was right but there were a lot closed in any event the best price I could find on a new 8 gig stick was 1200 baht.

So I kept wandering around Came Upon a shop where guys were dismantling some  laptops all they had was ddr4 memory which was no good to me. I kept strolling around. In walking back I passed their Booth again and the guy called me over he has pulled a 8 gig stick out of an old laptop that he was dismantling. He said if I was willing to gamble he'd let me have it for 200. As is no guarantee no warranty.

I pulled the four gig stick out put 8gig in the computer recognized it right away I ran the windows diagnostic memory test And it came back with no errors or flaws winner winner.

Some days chicken salad some days chicken shit it was chicken salad today 🙂

Can it play your Mexican chicken and donkeys porn old files ..........??

    Happy Songkran btw ...

FLB Bar - The first bar I visited in Pattaya on my very first trip and the first bar I returned to for the next three years trips. So many happy memories and so many friends made. Who remembers the Dance Competitions?😄

Living Dolls - Walked in on the first night of a new trip having not been back for exactly six months. Service girl escorts me to a table, leans over and says "Joy not working tonight - would you like me to phone her?"  Not only did she remember me but she remembered I had b/fined Joy on my last night six  months before. Steve, the Manager, was the only person I have ever known who could fall asleep standing up and not spill his pint!

Catz - Owned by Robert & Robin who were often my golfing buddies. So many happy mamories including "Miss Tesco." 🤣

Secrets - From October 2006 until Ben lost the plot my local, my workplace and many of the happiest times of my life. Customers became friends who returned each year and we all had a great time. What a shame!

Le Pub - The ideal venue to start your evening out in Pattaya. Phil deserves to prosper in these difficult times.

The Roadhouse (Angeles City) - Made my first trip to AC on my own and at Ben's suggestion visited the Roadhouse on my first night as there was a connection with Secrets. I was made so welcome on that first night by their owner and always tried to visit again on subsequent trips to AC.

Gheko's - ( Angeles) - There are only two things worth doing in AC and that is drink in bars and f@@k pussy. Nothing wrong with that then.

For the early riser Gheko's is one of the places you could do both as it opens at 12 noon and was usually packed by 12.30. However if it looks young it usually is and Gheko's had more than its fair share of young looking pussy. Hence you had to be very wary of whom you were buying lady drinks for as Gheko's was loaded with "Cherry girls." Hence the experienced AC visitor would preface "would you like a drink?" with "Your not a Cherry girl are you?' Nevertheless, the veteran AC visitor would know that the term "Cherry girl" could have various definitions other than all parts being out of bounds. 😄

Street 136 - (Phnom Penh) - Always stayed in the Riverside Hotel which is notable for the fact it is not by the riverside and that opposite it is a number of bars whose names escape me but were rammed full of pussy. Had some absolutely great times with the usual suspects up and down street 136 usually ending in an alcoholic blur and sometimes finding in the morning I had made a new friend.

Recognise and been to most of those named bars ......... might work on 11-20 next.

I can't place Maggies I can only remember two from the early 90s:-

    - Poachers, but I didn't really enjoy it in there. In those days the best piss ups were in the Embassy bars.

    - There was only one western supermarket in Beijing, down an escalator as part of a hotel. The hotel complex was also where the Ericson office was. Upstairs was a bar with a Filipino band. Fantastic place to meet up and get pissed !!!

Over by the Olympic Stadium as it was being built. Legendary place didn't start until after midnight ..... walked in late first time it was like you were in the goldfish bowl.

Tiered rows of benches with at least hundreds of ladies --- Chinese, Mongolian, Russian, Uzbek, Kazakh and every 'stan you could point an atlas at.

wow. what a long post.  first things first, the thai banking sector is involved in an awful lot more than somchais house and car where, yes,  they are often doing what banks i the US and Uk did before the last crash and lending MORE THAN THE SALES PRICE.. what they lend against is the actual valuation of the property, ( sorry thats a fact) and there is a strict procedure to properly value property here.  ( ask Tony at magna).  the end result is that they have a half decent loan to value on new mortgages, but based on true value and not sellers marked down price. so i fact its not quite the same as the failed US  crap credit loans that took down institutions there.  also buyers have to qualify for a loan which in the crap credit era in the US .. they didnt.

to re possession.  followig the debalce of the last crash HERE, banking laws were amended so that property could t be sold by by sa bank for less than , i think, 85 or 90% of outstsanding balance.  that was done to stop abc company going tits, then starting again as xyz but buying their previous asset for 10 or 20% of their previous loan.

A million baht PER ACCOUNT is low, yes. so spread your assets.

the SINGLE issue of a bent employee rippig expats off from within the bank, which means there was more than one for it to work IS being investigated and court cases are pending, with many already compensated.  those uncompensated had lesser docuementation to prove their being defrauded.  in the grand scheme of things, the amout is negligible, but for the account holders, its a lot.  banks here have insurance against fraud and we think its the insurance that is playing hardball

there isnt one mainstream thai bank that is currently in any form of difficulty.  not because of inflated balance sheets (check credit acceptance USA) but because they have income spread across the board here.  write offs are deducted annualy

on the whole the banking is pretty good and certaily soild.  plus if i trnsfer 100 baht to somene, they have it there and then.  in the UK Baas is three days and doesnt work weekends.

conclusion:  banks here are no more or less strong than those in the west, all have taken their toll with covid .  thai banks are often owned by people who will simply not allow them to fail ( o names pls)  and in the ful knowldege that if they were to fail it would cause potential anarchy.  also no media comany is trying to destroy them, as they unrightly did to the U building society simply with bad reporting, as was the case with Woolworth Europe, which wasnt insolvent either

Probably for the last time this trip, I visited Naklua Sea Food Market and the bridge located on the main road a little further into Naklua.  Previously I have tended to shy away from the Sea Food Market, due to risk of Covid 19 in markets.

me and a mate are coming over to patts in april with thai air and i booked him up for 2 weeks and after id booked the flight he said he wanted to stay 3 weeks with me how easy is it to change as they wanted £300 to change in a travel agents in london , i suppose it all depends on the class of ticket you have , and the thai air office at the dusit is closed i think , we can try a travel agent in patts and ask them i suppose

Thai Air never charged me a Baht for changing flights.

You are probably on some blacklist for shameful behaviour regarding drinks trolleys and singing Spurs are on their Way to Wembley too loudly.

I, too, followed Khun @Painter's recommendation, and booked with LK Emerald. They have been super efficient. As a result, I got my Thai Pass within 2 hours of submitting the application.

I loved it there. Beautiful views and easy to get everywhere.

Hospital super efficient ........ I still owe young Painter a small pink gin and slimline tonic.

I’ve heard of her obviously having the #1 ranking, but I don’t know….she just didn’t get the same publicity in North America as Osaka, the Williams’, Sharapova, Wozniaci, Hingis, etc…..

Truth be told, if I was asked to pick Ashleigh from a lineup of 10 ladies…..don’t even know what she looks like, and I’m a big sports fan

Sharapova was better looking but .... not as good as the Aussie ...290387055_Barty.jpg
