its the  hypocritic  policy that is being parodied not the seriousness of the virus itself

This coronavirus is the strangest virus I've ever heard of. It's very dangerous the way it spreads. It is so mysterious the way it lurks in schools, but then dies at B&Q. It is sneaky. It can spread when buying clothes at M&S but not at Tesco. It is non-alcoholic. It can't spread when you are buying beer. It lives for two days on Amazon boxes, you must wait 48 hours to touch them but It can't survive on takeaway coffee cups, so enjoying a hot cup of costa is safe. It is the most curious thing, how it lives on footballs, ballet bars, even loo seats but dies on WWE ropes. It is spread by hair stylists, dog groomers, and dentists, but not by bank tellers, cashiers, and fast food workers. It's so smart. It won’t bother the first 10 people but it knows when the 11th person shows up so be careful if that’s you. It even knows what you want vs what you need. If you want a massage or your nails done it is very actively on the prowl and not even a mask can stop it but If you need a plumber, it is weak, and a mask will keep it away. It won't affect you in a taxi, but your not allowed to take people in your car. It also seems to be most dangerous after 5:30pm so businesses must start to close before the virus comes out and wreaks havoc upon the populations. Whoever heard of such a smart sneaky virus?!? 🤗

do you think that is acceptable or reasonable to argue for the mourners?????to grieve a loved one

and no i do not approve of the trump rallly...its stupid

literally millions over a few days ...probably more if you count all locations

when you consider that the Spanish outbreak was likely triggered by a football match of a Spanish team in Italy....

The only saving grace was that the protests were outside...but there again so was the football match

Ivar: You keep upping that number. First it was  "hundreds of thousands" -- now "millions.."

I've read "tens of thousands" & "thousands of people" ...but not more than that in one location?
    Maybe in Oz?

Please provide one legitimate example of a crowd size count that backs up what you write.
Or, are you just pulling a random number out of your boot chute to exaggerate a point.

    Example for you:

"...An estimated 100,000 people attended the march, according to Black Lives Matter Los Angeles, which organized the action along with BLD PWR and the rapper YG. Early crowd size estimates by the LAPD placed the number around 20,000 ..."

Report Suggests Some ‘Mildly Symptomatic’ Covid-19 Patients Endure Serious Long-Term Effects

...rapid recovery has not been the experience of thousands - perhaps tens of thousands - of patients worldwide who’ve been classified as mild cases. Many struggle for months with lingering Covid-19 symptoms that can be debilitating. They exhibit shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, intermittent fevers, cough, concentration issues, chest pressure, headaches, and heart palpitations, among other symptoms. The literature has a name for them: “long-haulers.” ...

Nice to see a positive story regarding a footballer for a change.

For those who can't access the site it is about ManU striker Marcus Rashford and his campaign to provide food vouchers for children living in poverty.

crack out the violin but that was always my only decent meal of the day....used to love the roast spuds ...my mom was never well...school ,school dinners and education, books, footy .mates and the library were my lifeline

    good on Marcus..bloody great campaign

Well there are always some bars that take a chance such as ALL the bars in my mates Condo complex have been doing.

Legally you currently need the correct licence to open and sell alcohol along side food and most bars and GoGo's do not so it is a brave or foolish "mainstream" venue that opens up and openly sells alcohol before the Government permits that to happen.

Tourism has not restarted; social distancing is required; no girls and just enough expats on the piss to make retox busy. The vast majority of bars and gogo's will not reopen until the tourists return. Then the problem will be that the first batch will find the "new normal" so piss poor that they will vow not to return. Better for all concerned to wait for "high season" at the end of the year before opening up again.

jambo .you are the voice of reason

you are one of the reasons i visit here, your anecdotes are brilliant

Covid-19 can leave the lungs of people who died from the disease completely unrecognisable, a professor of cardiovascular science has told parliament.

It created such massive damage in those who spent more than a month in hospital that it resulted in “complete disruption of the lung architecture”, said Prof Mauro Giacca of King’s College London.

In findings that he said showed the potential for “real problems” after survival, he told the Lords science and technology committee that he had studied the autopsies of patients who died in Italy after 30 to 40 days in intensive care and discovered large amounts of the virus persisting in lungs as well as highly unusual fused cells.

“What you find in the lungs of people who have stayed with the disease for more than a month before dying is something completely different from normal pneumonia, influenza or the Sars virus,” he said. “You see massive thrombosis. There is a complete disruption of the lung architecture – in some lights you can’t even distinguish that it used to be a lung.

“There are large numbers of very big fused cells which are virus positive with as many as 10, 15 nuclei,” he said. “I am convinced this explains the unique pathology of Covid-19. This is not a disease caused by a virus which kills cells, which had profound implications for therapy.”

His evidence came as the Lords committee heard from medical scientists and doctors grappling with the nature of Covid-19 six months after its emergence in Europe, its behaviour, treatments, vaccines and the possibility of immunity.

Sir John Bell, a professor of medicine at Oxford University who is a member of the government’s coronavirus vaccine taskforce, said attempts to understand whether people who have had the disease gather any immunity would need to be tested during a second wave of infections in the UK, which he said was now likely.

“Given the lockdown has now been largely released, we are now back in action and we still have a pretty reasonable level of infections in the community, I would be very surprised if we avoided a second wave,” he said. “I think the real question is are we going to have a number of outbursts and then a second wave or are we just going to get a second wave.”

    (My emphasis)

A successful vaccine does not necessarily guarantee sterilising immunity.

Sterilizing immunity is a unique immune status, which prevents effective virus infection into the
host. It is different from the immunity that allows infection but with subsequent successful
    eradication of the virus.

IIRC, there was concern that the vaccine might protect someone from the symptoms of Covid-19 but would not stop them being infectious to others.

that is irrational....if you dont get you cannot spread it
