If you do have money (800k) in the bank be aware of what can happen if u are caught out of Thailand and unable to return
A good friend has been here 20 years and goes back to OZ once a year to see family and a medical check. Last visit Covid struck and he couldn't return. 6 months ago he had a mini stroke with 10% memory loss. Kbank won't let his son withdraw funds, even with a power of Attorney, notarized by the Thai embassy. He has no ATM card to withdraw from OZ. Even if he dies his son has to present the will and go to court to get approval.
Mind boggling restrictions. How much money is tied up this way!

Went into Crystal in LK Metro last night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Happy hour all night, great music for us, slim attractive girls, no fatties. Will certainly return.

'You see something that instantly gets the juices flowing, you become focused and the brain kicks into gear (can I pull this off ?, what should I say without being offensive, '
I liked this thought, but be careful. Happened to me...... and she is still with me ten years later

I always enjoyed the Bosch books. If you are a fan, it's worth watching the TV Series of the same name. Realistic character portrayals, good storyline and acting.

'you're buying one beer for the price of two.'
No, your getting two beers not one. Now the price might be the same as 2 but you still get two. The wording on the sign is pretty accurate but most don't see it that way. I was there last night.

Do you mean The Rock Factory? Been open for quite some time, I was a regular at the old place, a couple of young guys playing. Went in to listen. I left quickly, half deaf.

Good plans mate. This may be irrelevant to how it works in Thailand but I have the same situation as you hrrebin the Philippines.
Probate is a pretty costly, but more importantly, time consuming process here. Knowing this I consulted the attorney who drew up my will and he advised that probate can be done while you are still alive. It is just a process to verify that the will is genuine.
Perhaps it can also be handled this way where you are! Certainly worth asking.

Just got back from renewing my Philippine driver's licence. You now have to do an on-line exam getting 50%+, as well as a medical certificate. The good thing is that with ASEAN reciprocal agreement I can use in Thailand for 90 days with no IDP. Funny part is that it's valid till Oct 2031......when I will be 86.!

Up until a few years ago Kbank had a great system that bypassed the OTP option. They called it Password 2, separate from your log in password. When you did a transaction that would require a OTP a new screen came up for your P2 and you were set to go.
After 16+ years of loving this system while I was overseas they decided to make life harder for security, even tho I never ever had a problem

My partners family live on the island of Leyte in the Philippines. That area is a prime spot for typhoons, usually at least a few every year. In the last really big one they lost all their crops, most of the animals and half of the house, got nothing from the Govt despite an international aid fund, pocketed by politicians. Yet they still live there as do millions of others.

Yes, a funny guy. Met him a few times and he was a nice bloke.

The 500 baht overstay for one day is usually not imposed and there is no drama.
Problems with an overstay usually only arise if you are detected BEFORE you get to the airport immigration. Avoid police checkpoints, DUI, licence etc and you will be fine.

I often how many users really need and use many of the features on the more expensive phones? I have a 3 year old Huawei Y9 with a good memory and camera and for me it is enough. When I look at what it does offer tho there are so many features I never use.
