Same here , it's one thing I like about the place , flat fee , no negotiation required  ...

that's is how I remember it,but that was back in the days when all the bars had front doors.

shit get a few mates in with ya and it was party time all day, some of things I saw and I got up to would get you locked up now days

my send off after 8mths in Pattaya the girls climbed up on the bar, slowly removed their knickers and squatted down to give me feel and look,i was walking around all arvo with bunch of panties on my head.

plenty of action on the lounges and the bar,not many retired upstairs, can't remember the name of the bar,it was the first on the right as you walk down the soi,but this was back in 1997 oh! the times in the Jasmin,i kept trying to get the daughter of the Thai owners to go upstairs, but no dice, she said she was a good girl 555

I think most governments have gone past the point of no return, in that they are so convinced that lockdown was the answer to containing it they have to keep going that route.

If they put their hands up and say they were wrong, there has been a hell of a lot of damage done to people's lives and livelihoods for nothing, and no one wants to admit that.

They have never been so desperate for a vaccine as they are now.

seen on tv here the average age for the virus deaths in UK is 82.6 the average for all deaths is 81.5.

here in OZ its 85 while life expectancy is 82,NO government will admit that they got it wrong, all they needed was the socalled "experts" who come out of the woodwork, like here in OZ and said there would be up to 150000 deaths, and the hospitals would be snow under by cases.only they was wrong,f**k the socalled modelling.

here in OZ it never happen we have had 850+ deaths with 99% only mild.

the lives that have been ruined by this Wuhan Virus will never be able to comeback.business lost forever, people in so much debt they will never recover.

and the arseholes [politicians] want to lockdown at the drop of a hat,

look after those that will be killed the most, the age/sick,

let the kids go back to school,we have our kids back at school last month or so,i can hear the kids running around up the road, laughing, when's the last time most of you have heard a mob of kids laughing and yelling out in fun?

f**k the goverments send them all to coventry,

    reckon Sweden got it right

This post made my mind up. I'm off to have a couple of pints of Guinness in The Old Mother Redcap. Last of the truly ropey pubs round my way.

In the early 80s a famous Guardian article was headlined : "The Mother Redcap- the land where yuppies fear to tread'. Still looks rough to this day ............:default_cheers:

I'll bring me book ..... nobody stares at phones in this boozer and not a wine bottle to be seen.

we had a few like that back in the 60/70/80s all around the wharves but now either closed or the yuppies have taken over,no concrete covered construction lads at the bar anymore.

talking of beer, the 2 worse beer I ever tasted ,1 a pommy beer "Newcastle brown" and 1 aussie "Cairns beer" even though Resch's is close to them all shit.

I love Black beer,"Carlton Black" or Tooheys Black. but my drink of choice is "Bundy Rum and coke or straight rum with a drop of beer.the only trouble is that it now makes me fall over too often,so I've binned it well after the next session.

I don't know .. maybe I am over-reacting .... but, I still think it sucks ... and I normally never sweat the small stuff ...

But, this one "sticks in my crawl " ...

I don't mind bringing my own bag ( whenever I remember ) - or buying another one in the store ... and when I do take a bag with me it has not been in a toxic waste dump prior ...

I do think though .. you go anywhere to buy something .. give them your business .. they should at least put the shit in your bag .... jeez, am I asking for to much ( lol )

Just waiting now for robots to be checking you out of a grocery store .. at least you can program them with customer service in mind

    joe,

our supermarkets here would not pack as they ring up items, just swipe and move them on,that lasted about 2/3mths now back to normal.except in the self service lanes they cut down the cash machines from 7 to 2.

Since increase in no. of deaths lag increases in new cases, and if you're looking to contain an outbreak, then you'd want to keep an eye out for an increase in new cases. You'd also want to factor in testing as a % of the pop so as to ascertain the new cases aren't just because of more testing.

wouldn't it be if the more you test, the more you will find people with the virus.

I saw the charts on 2nd wave in UK and France  which showed the number of new cases rising higher than the first wave, but very much less deaths.

but the goverments of both countries are pushing the new cases numbers so they can bring in more rules and lockdowns.

iam starting to more to Thai spices thoughts on the virus.

f**k it iam on deaths doorstep anyway, put I want a peaceful death ,you know go to sleep and not wake up.

We are fortunate living in Thailand where they have the Wuhan virus under control. Not so in the US. Wisconsin, where my son's family lives, is now 5th on the leaderboard for daily new cases, so it's not unreasonable they're taking precautions in group situations. On the plus side, they're not going into full lockdown based on only a couple of thousand new cases a day out of a state population of 5.8 million.

Home schooling is always option, but the downside is the lack of social interaction of the child with their peers.

    image.png

what is more important more ,new cases or new deaths ?

I see Wisconsin + 2020 new cases and only 18 deaths

    World beating ......

The weekly rate of new Covid-19 cases has soared in dozens of areas of England, following the addition of nearly 16,000 cases that went unreported because of a technical error with an Excel spreadsheet.

Manchester now has the highest rate in England, with 2,740 cases recorded in the seven days to October 1 - the equivalent of 495.6 cases per 100,000 people, up from 223.2 in the previous week.

The problem has led to a delay in efforts by NHS Test and Trace to find the contacts of those who tested positive for the virus, in some cases by around a week.

    https://www.itv.com/news/2020-10-05/covid-cases-soar-in-parts-of-england-after-missing-cases-factored-in

has the rate of deaths gone up?surely the deaths are the most important numbers?

AC/DC have announced a reunion, featuring members who had left the classic rock band in recent years.

A new post on their Instagram account depicts vocalist Brian Johnson, bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd, all of whom had previously departed.

Johnson had been the band’s frontman since 1980, following the death of original singer Bon Scott, but had quit in 2016 due to hearing loss; Williams retired in 2017.

It’s Rudd’s third stint in the Australian band, first playing from 1975 to 1983, then rejoining in 1994.

Very surprised to see so many ladies with short hair, for some reason I thought that was a more recent trend.

they look a lot better than the those bloody "beehive style" from the 60s and early 70s they wore.hair all teased up most looked like they was wigs.

me,i love the long hair style

Not for everyone. I too have a Vit D deficiency and every few months my doc puts me on a high dosage. I get my prescriptions free now as I am over 60 which is helpful. But whether it would affect my chances of getting or fighting C19, I have no idea.

For me the best way, is to try and avoid catching it by keeping my distance from maskless crusaders, who want to invade my personal space.

iam the same my Vit D cost 35aud twice a year for past 3years,

I have been wearing a masked since March, when out and about, except all day Friday when I was in the local to celebrate me old mates 70th, only problems was now you have to sit,NO standing except waiting to be serve at the bar not much social distance was in practise by the end of day, they sent us home in a taxi.

shit we was pissed at the end.no lunch or dinner, fell into the fart sack and passed out till about 3am,had the joe blakes yesterday stayed in doors all day.
