Stick's column this week is about the Fiwfans scene in Bangkok about how it is better value, better offering etc than the Gogo's etc if you have a bit of Thai language etc - maybe a phone translator would suffice - IF one is so inclined.

    https://fiwfans.vip/

Then use your browser to translate, click on Sukhumvit for example and see whats "available" and pricing....more in Stick's column.

Most of these girls have very reasonable prices.....And these girls are pretty nice too...

There are long threads on Addict of guys going on and on about how reasonable prices are a thing of the past..

  2. Ibiza looks like a horrible place for a retired balding a little overweight farang....

Ibiza is crawling with young fit ripped good looking Guys....It makes me sick....Women there would not give Pattaya expats  the time of day....

Not that I would even want any of those young rich plastic Euro girls who are so full of themselves with how beautiful they are...

No I will not even give ibiza girls a chance with this Pattaya Stud...

Not on my side of town it isn't. Where are you living, I want to be your neighbor and experience the ever so slightly cooler weather. Maybe rather than move I'll just camp out on your doorstep. :default_biggrin:

Lol.....I did not say I was wearing a Eskimo parka to stay warm in the slightly cooler weather....

I am on the 6th floor facing the beach sort of.....The wind patterns from the ocean have shifted so I feels just a tiny bit cooler...So I have been able to cut back on the 24/7 aircon a bit.....

The site will be used for a new monument to the late King.

Pattaya to erect monument honouring King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The Legendary Royal Sailor

Pattaya City has unveiled plans to commemorate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as King Rama IX, through the construction of a monument at the site of the old royal sailing club on Pattaya beach. Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat presided over a meeting highlighting the city’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage.

The inspiration behind this initiative stems from a historic event where Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, accompanied by the Royal Family, sailed in Pattaya Bay decades ago. This event holds immense historical and cultural significance.

On April 19, 1966, at 4:28 AM, His Majesty the King personally sailed a 13-foot OK-class sailboat named “Vega” across the Gulf of Thailand, from the Klai Kungwon Royal Palace in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, to Toey Ngam Beach, Sattahip, Chonburi, arriving at 9:28 PM after a 17-hour journey covering 111 kilometres. His remarkable feat conquered challenging weather conditions and numerous obstacles.

    Good post.....

But would it not make more sense to put a monument out at Bali Hi where the boats are?

Its seems not a good idea to put a monument right in the center of brown bag drinking vagrant central...

A long ago forgotten boating center is a poor reason to build a monument there....

Paid my bill a few days ago. Up from the usual 2400B to 2700B. Not too bad, but I expect the next bill to be even higher.

My Electric bill is usually between 1,400 to 1,600 but the one I just paid was 3,200....I just cant stand to sweat in the condo....Most of the year fans are all I need but in April and May aircon is a must...

It's that time of year again left this morning got to Bangkok Bank at 8:30 just as they were opening by 8:40 I had my passbook updated letter showing my balance and now they need a 3-month letter showing activity in the past 3 months. In any event 10 minutes in 10 minutes out.

Walked to I walked in to a chorus of Hello Larry. They're a good group there they never forget me I'm sure it has nothing to do with the croissants I drop them by on occasion 😁. The place was mobbed as I expected it to be as they were just coming back from a week-long holiday. When Fon saw me she motioned me to the back and handled me right away no waiting which I didn't request or expect. I'm happy to wait my turn but she dealt with me right away. And then informed me I'd have to go down to immigration to get a photo taken she assured me there'd be no waiting and there wasn't the minute I got the immigration the photographer grabbed me took me in to the back office had me stand in front of desk 8 took my photo and I was gone less than 5 minutes. It's a pain in the ass going down there but if you got to do it you got to do it.

She also told me not to expect it back before Thursday due to the amount of business they're handling at the moment. I really like it down there I've never had a single issue that they haven't been able to deal with they're always fast reliable and while I do think there are companies now that may do it a bit cheaper I just feel safe with them so until next year I'm okay.

There are the guys that say why would you pay somebody to do it if you have the money in the bank you can do it yourself well I did do it myself a couple of times but the amount of time I had to wait down there it just wasn't worth it to me I'm one of those got more time than money guys but time is money so for the 8,000 Baht they charge ( using your own or 12500 if using their money) is in my opinion well worth it. Especially today it was an absolute madhouse down there

Let me add that I got my exercise for the day I did all of this on foot including walking from the agent all the way down to the immigration but I did take a bolt back because I was beat long walk

I agree 100% about Maneerat.....Not only are they super nice but they get the job done...They know their stuff...No BS ever.....I have been using them for about 10 years now.....I will be sticking with them for a looooog time to come...

They do a smashing business there.... One time I saw a box they had all the passports in.....There had to of been close to 200 passports in the box....And that was just on that one day....Plus they operate with minimal overhead costs unlike a bar or restaurant....

They deserve to do good they do a great job and take care of the customers...

Yep its cooking on gas mark "f**k off hot" here in the village.

Mrs smiler is at a funeral right now of a guy who died of heat stroke last week. He used to live in a shack near some of her land. Would use the ponds on her land to bathe and do laundry in. She used to describe him as 50/50 in as much as he wasn't all there and certainly during the last 3 or 4 years he had a yabba problem.

Guess this should be in the "Amazing Thailand" thread but I said to Mrs smiler I was sorry to hear about the guy and to pass on my condolances to his mum. She said not to worry, the mother will be sad but happy that she will get her share of the life insurance of one million baht the family took out on him.......

Well he was near the end of the road I guess a life insurance policy was not a bad idea...

  9. Most of the Pattaya eccentrics use to hang out at the beach a lot....But they sucked the life out of the beach by cutting down all the trees and now the beach is a hot unpleasant place till after sunset.....

The eccentrics or hardly any one else for that matter do not hang out at the beach any more ....After the sun has set I see a bit more people there..
