Baht getting stronger against the only currency that effects us all the USD. If anyone thinks borders are opening anytime soon think again. With Foreign Currency Reserves at record levels they can and will hold out for decades should they choose to

Sterling rising against the Greenback on the renewed possibility of a Brexit deal is pushing us up

Break out role for John Belushi although he'd been a regular on Saturday Night Live. What a talent we lost
I really liked Tim Matheson who played Otter in that scene. Thought he was brilliant in that "1941" movie as well

lol soon as I saw the word Gazonkas I immediately thought of National Lampoons Animal House
Donald Sutherlands biggest ever regret not taking a percentage of profits thinking it wouldnt gross much but instead taking a small fixed fee !

Some great places to go and relax
In 2015 I went to Yasothan to meet a nurse from one of the apps (still in contact 5 years later) and stayed at the Green Park Grand Hotel it was 700 a night at the time
Seriously I could have stayed there months enjoyed the place so much with the point being I had absolutely no idea what I was going to upfront

Until Sterling rises to pre referendum levels around $1.53 we are stuck at the current levels. With Sterling plunging off a cliff if we do indeed leave no deal in 3 months time than 40 may well look attractive
The possible upside on the other side of the pairings is that the Baht weakens out against the USD as that obviously effects every currency conversion
Covid could send it out over 33 again where it was in late February and hopefully higher

Baht starting to weaken against the all important USD could it finally be the sign the Covid crisis is starting to hit home

For all the doom and gloom in Thailand about its economy, millions of jobless and predictions of impending armageddon, still the Baht remains more or less bulletproof. <shakeshead>
Just this week appears to be weakening

Baht weakened quite sharply last 72 hours
Right out to 31.56 interbank against the benchmark. Dont tend to follow forex that closely so not sure why but will attempt to find out
-
Baht staying completely rock solid against the benchmark USD
If anyone thought the Baht would weaken over lack of Covid tourism time to think again....monstrous foreign currency reserves means they could keep keep the Baht at current levels for decades should they choose to

Sterling taking a dump against the USD......Just wait until Johnson drives us off a cliff over Brexit. Most Forex traders are indicating around $1.12 if he does (he will)
That would put Sterling/Baht back to 35.10

22.17 to the AUD looks like a mistake. Maybe 22.67 or 22.77. Mid rate currently 22.9+ and was similar all of yesterday.
Yes an error for sure.....Mid is 22.91

Yes, rates improved - my mate said he did a transfer first thing and got 41.51, so it’s advanced during the course of the day which long may it continue
Sterling back above 65 to the Peso as well
-
41.86 currently full rate (same as Transferwise)
Sterling advancing on $1.35 the reason and we've not seen that for some time

Tashkent in Uzbekistan having flown on the national carrier
Massive great holes in concourses sort of roped off lol. We got upgraded by some fluke so we got lounge pass in Tashkent as well which was the normal transit lounge but with a black curtain which sectioned off a small area lol with some drinks and some sort of snacks
Wreckage of miltary vehicles were littered everywhere by runway. Not that long ago 1994

Moderna and Astrazeneca leading the way in stage 3 trials. I'd put AZ chances of success as in excess of 75%

So, or we shrug it off and live with it or we continue this masquerade and destruction of social life forever. .
Vaccin or not ...
In a few year, this will just be another thing in history books, and on Wiki.
Couldnt agree more Spice......we've got to move on now deaths or no deaths.
Anyone actually know someone who has officially died from Covid ?? Personally I dont from friends or friends of friends or in fact even anyone who was diagnosed with it but fully recovered ??

Credit to the Stickman site of today the 16th August
"A friend with a Thai wife who lives in another part of the region looked at what was required for the two of them to fly in to Thailand. They are legally married so he can fly in to Thailand if he is willing to undergo quarantine on his own dime, get an approved Covid-19 insurance policy and test negative for Covid-19 before departing. When he started to go through the process he discovered some stuff it was even more difficult than he thought. He would not be able to fly together on the same flight as his Thai wife. He would have to prepay 50% for the hotel quarantine before he even had the first Covid test done in his country of residence – and if for any reason he could not get on the flight, the 50% hotel deposit was non-refundable. Worse still, he has read reports that some hotels say a farang husband & Thai wife cannot stay in the same hotel room because the Ministry of Health forbids it. Of course, there is nothing on the MOH website that says any such thing. What a hassle."

- All travelers (regardless of country) must show proof of a negative test 48 hours prior to airport check in,
- Plus 14 day quarantine
- Or proof of vaccination (future of course)
Probably at least 95% of previous regular holiday tourists will red card the Country whilst the 2nd requirement remains. Nobody who is on employed status is going to lose 2 weeks of their holiday leave in a quarantine hotel. Probably make that 99%
I'm self employed status but if they think I'm dragging my sorry arse 6000 miles to be placed into a quarantine hotel that I have to pay for for 2 weeks than they can think again. I cant imagine too many here think otherwise either

Who will be allowed into the kingdom in 2021? What criteria will be used for what countries will be allowed in? Just because Swampy opens up in 2021 doesn't mean all countries will welcomed in right away.
Brits Americans I wouldnt imagine back until 2022 and thats with a vaccine sanctioned in the interim
Probably 2023 at best until all requirements are shelved completely
