They think they've found the two guns used and as suspected they're semi-autos, not .38s.

    https://thethaiger.com/news/national/police-in-phuket-find-guns-suspected-to-have-been-used-to-murder-jimi-sandhu

in my opinion there are also semi-autos with caliber 38. thaiger states they left the country where to? but the two influential persons will provide the police with the name of the purchasers loll

Reopened today. Need to have a "legitimate photo of your ATK result" to get served though. Don't know what qualifies as legitimate.

IMHO, it's good that businesses are trying to protect their staff by making sure the customers they serve aren't sick. Unfortunately if legitimate means a govt test where if you test positive you're immediately thrown into a jail cell hospital bed for 10 days at your expense, they probably won't have many customers for the time being.

It would be far better if the govt would change their stance and allow home isolation, and only require a hospital stay if symptoms warrant that level of care.

Breach of the Fiduciary Relationship between bank and customer, could possibly be grounds for a bank closing an account.  This could, in my view, cover a failure to inform the bank that a customer was no longer normally resident in UK.

Interestingly, searching the internet, it appears that a bank can close the account of a customer without giving a reason.  There are quite a number of articles on the subject.  We learn new things every day!!

your are absolutely right jl. when a person opens an account, the account holder has to sign and accept the general terms and conditions of the bank. this includes the right of the bank to close the relationship without reason.

Just an update on Dave Barwise.

He went to hospital on Monday a week ago because he had terrible water retention throughout his body. The hospital drained 4 liters of fluid.

Tests at the hospital revealed he had severe diabetes which had never been treated along with severe cirrhosis.
Dave being Dave, he checked himself out of the hospital, only to return on Thursday.
I spoke my last conversation with him there and although he was unable to open his eyes as he was so tired, he told me he was checking himself out. I managed to persuade him to stay.

Pretty soon after his body developed sepsis which spread to his legs really quickly.

He had a heart attack on Friday at 1:00am and then I had the horrible task of phoning his parents to tell them that Dave probably wouldn’t make it.

He had a second heart attack at 12:35pm on Friday which was fatal.

As he lay dying I played his favorite song “I Predict A Riot” and after I changed him into his favorite Leeds United shirt.

I went to the Police Hospital in Bangkok yesterday to identify his body and release it for cremation which will be Saturday at 1:00pm at Wat Nong O near to the Big C Xtra.

Pla is absolutely devastated. Devoted to her husband, I have never seen such a strong bond for a husband from a Thai lady.

Condolenses to his parents Dennis and Margret and his brothers Anthony and Martin.

Had he stayed in hospital on Monday I’m sure he would be alive now. He had severe diabetes but it would be under control. He had money to pay the hospital. I’m not sure what he was thinking and never will.

dear Phil, what you have done for Dave has gained my admiration and respect. thank you. Luigi

We had a family day out yesterday.

The countryside up in the Mae Sot area is often quite stunning with National Parks, spectacular scenary, Waterfalls and several different hot springs. We firstly visited the hot springs at "Huay Nam Nam" which provide you with your own wee "swimming pool" full of geothermal water almost hot enough to boil and egg. You feel great afterwards and I had my best nights sleep for absolutely ages.

But that was just a prelude to lunch with a return to "Captain Jack Sparrow's " Resort which is truely one of those gems that turn up so unexpectedly in Thailand.

This is what you initially see as you drive down there very steep entrance which has no sign on the main road. You have to know it exists at all.

There are "huts" scattered around which is the accommodation area.

It is the setting for the restaurant that make this venue so unusual. It is very popular in the evenings and weekends as it is also a live music venue where its eccentric owner performs under his adopted personna as "Captain Jack Sparrow." He speaks good english and remembered me even though it has been a year or so since we last visited.

Not a particulaly good photo of the stage.

It is much larger than these photo's will give an impression with different heights to the restaurant all of which contain individual places to sit an eat all leading to a lovely waterfall which being only just into the dry season was carrying a good volume of water and makes a great backdrop to enjoy.

We picked the same table as we had the last time. It is literally over the run off from the waterfall and you sit with your feet dangling in the pool immediately below. It is full of fish who congregate expecting to be fed the scraps from our meal. That reminds me of our four dogs. You order your selection from the menu by phone. The service is not quick but the quality of the food makes the wait well worthwhile.

We were the first customers having arrived sy 11.45 but there followed a steady follow of others being mostly being family groups like us. One party of 6 teens made there way right to the top selecting a table near the waterfall which must have pleased the Thai waitress. 🤣

Those were the first three dishes that arrived with another four following at intervals. The king prawns were excellent and the dish in the center was portions of fish deep fried with onions and lemon grass which I loved. There was a huge platter of fried rice which was loaded also with peeled king prawns.

The food was really excellent which was fortunate as I had quite naturally been elected to pay the bill. That came to 2,260 baht including drinks. As I had only come out with 2K the ladies had a whip round to come up with the balance. 🤣

Captain Jack decided to entertain us and after a couple of Thai numbers the girls obviously knew he then played a "Scorpions" medly and showed he was an excellent performer on the acoustic guitar.

All good things come to an end and we said our goodbyes to "See you tomorrow" from Captain Jack.

    A good day in Thailand.

  6. did your nice ever have access to your personal financial and specialy banking information i.e. account numbers, credit card details etc. if yes, close your accounts and reopen them with other numbers informing the bank about possible fraud. same applies for credit cards. and as you mentioned new massive locks on doors and locks inside the house for the windows. remove for your house all things which have sentimental value for you. good luck to you

I started the day by taking our 4 dogs out for a walk.

It was only supposed to be the wee one and on a lead because she doesn't take one blind bit of notice what I say! The other three "go over the wall" several times a day on their own but the wee one doesn't like crossing the small stream at the back of the house. When they release sufficient water they have to swim across and back.

But when I opened the driveway sliding gate the other three shot out and I ended up walking with the pack of 4 dogs. So I let the wee one ( who is medium size really) off the lead and our pack behaved surprisingly well. One of the dogs is a male, looks much like a German Shepherd and is most definitely the pack leader. The other male dogs in the area are scared shitless of him and disappear when they see him. Confronted by 4 dogs they beat all records. He is a lovely dog with a great temperament and not at all overtly aggressive. Which really sums up our 4 dogs as a whole all of whom are former Soi dogs.

Thai's are amazed by this farang walking a dog on a lead. The women think it is sweet and they all smile at me. They have seen me often with the one dog but walking with a pack of dogs came as an even bigger surprise. They must think I am a "dog whisperer" .🤣

Going fishing this afternoon. Changing tactics by starting at 2pm and fishing untill its dark. I wondered why I virtually had the lake to myself in the mornings until I discovered the locals don't arrive until about 2.30 when thanks to the tall trees the lake ever increasingly is in shadow. There is also the attraction they do good food and sell large bottles of cold beer when I have had enough.

    Be safe out there.

thank u for your contribution. would be awfully nice to see a picture of the dogs. stay safe too
