Well f**k me that came true a bit too quick 😵😷🙈
Its an absolute disaster here at the moment. Met with my 3 brothers this morning, we met in a local park just to be on the safe side. I believe in England teir 4 areas even that is forbidden.

Well, seen plenty of sunsets in Patts, but never a sunrise.
Thanks.
In days gone by I saw plenty of sunrises, normally on the way home from the previous night 😁😁😁😁

Out of the bag?
Behave FFS, Thailand has a population of over 60 million, 500+ cases in a population of over 60 million is nothing to worry about.
I'm sure at 500 cases in the UK and many other countries they thought it was nothing to worry about, look at them now.

Not good news at all. Good swift action from the government though.

You don't need proof of £12,000 for a start, and brits weren't even getting accepted for certain visas, the list of ASQ hotels was well shorter as well.
Not having to show proof of money doesn't make it any easier to get a visa. Makes it more accessible but not any easier. Not getting accepted for certain visas!!!! Please tell me about these visas so I can at least apply for one.

We had Xmas dinner at our house on the darkside for a couple of years and I reckon it cost us about double per person then what it would have to eat out.
Christmas lunch at home has one huge advantage. Feet up and a wee snooze after lunch.

It's hard to gather what exactly is going up when you get some many conflicting media reports. The quality of English language journalism in Thailand is diabolical.
Having said that, it's still a significant change for the better that the financial requirements have been dropped, and it's still much easier to enter than it was 2 months ago.
How is this any easier than 2 months ago.

How effective will your vaccine be though??
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/12/14/london-on-toughest-restrictions-sees-new-virus-variant
I just feel that these vaccines are being rushed. You simply don't do in 10 months what normally takes 10+ years.

Good post and good info. Not something I look forward to doing but hopefully I'll be doing it in early 2021.
Had to do 14 days quarantine in Kuwait but I was in the staff apartment and could order food and takeaways online.

I think the "suggestion" of Visa exempt has been made and is being discussed by the govt on Tuesday.
Various embassies, ie Dubai, have jumped the gun, in expectation that the "suggestion" will be adopted.
I might be wrong....
Read the same elsewhere, guess we just have to wait and see. As far as I'm aware some Thai embassies are issuing single entry 60 day visas and some aren't.

Interesting, considering its a lot easier to enter Thailand that it was 4 weeks ago, I would say the situation has improved, massively considering 4 weeks ago you needed to have proof of finances etc.
Well the RTE in London says different. Until its announced officially then nothing is certain.

You don't think it's a million times better than just 4 weeks ago? I agree the quarantine is a deal breaker for many, but for retirees and long stay visitors, this must be a welcome move.
Retirees should already have the proper visa and as far as I'm aware they can already get in. 30 day visa exempt is of no use to anyone if you need to do 15 nights 16 days stuck in a hotel room. So to answer your question no I don't really think things are better than 4 weeks ago.

I just went on the website.
You register first for the certificate of entry, when that's approved you book ASQ and flights, upload it and send it within 15 days.
Then the embassy will process the application within 3 working days.
Get your covid test within 72 hours of flying and then you show your documents at the airport.
This is a huge relaxing of the restrictions! I'm tempted...
As long as there is still the requirement of quarantine I'd say there is hardly any relaxation of the restrictions.

Rangers have the league title well and truly won. Actually, they may well go this league season unbeaten. Celtic are pitiful.
Certainly looks like it and it would take an almighty collapse from Sevco to lose it now. Even if they have a bad run of games I just don't see Celtic taking advantage.
Celtic's remarkableemarkable run was always going to come to an end though. It's been some run with the Scottish cup final from last season still to be played. Win that then thats a quadruple treble in the bag, something that will never be repeated.

If your travelling to Thailand anytime soon i doubt you'll get out of the airport to catch a bus.

Haven't Australia already said No entry without vaccine
Not sure to be honest. Qantas have already came out and said international passengers will need to be vaccinated.

The way things are looking if you want to travel then having the vaccine will be mandatory. Even though I'm slightly reluctant to have it looks like I have no option.

Have you tried for the STV? You may meet the criteria.
If not, suppose you're heading back to Scotland?
Unfortunately I don't meet the criteria for the STV. Thai embassy in Kuwait aren't issuing the now available single entry visa which i believe some countries are issuing.
Certainly looking like Scotland for Christmas and New Year. Although it'll be good to see family and friends I'd much rather be at home.

FFS, get on with your life boys !
I think you'll find most people want to get on with their lives but are being restricted by Governments around the world. I'd love to be heading home to Thailand on the 10th December and get on with my life but I can't. I know many guys in the same situation who want to get on with their lives but can't. I'm sure you'd like to be spending Christmas with your family but like many you can't.

And where do the majority of foreigners eat and drink in Pattaya, probably not at the Sky Gallery.
My point is there are plenty of Thais with money, both in Pattaya, Bangkok and the provinces despite what gets printed on the many foreign forums in Thailand.
There is a huge misconception when it comes to Thais and money. Many for some reason think 99% of Thais earn minimum wage.
