    Agreed regarding BPH.

I used Dr Donna in February, can't say the experience was a total success as I had to chase them for my results but TIT and all that.🙄

Her place is around Soi 39 about a 15 min walk from the nearest sky train.

  2. I plan to return to Thailand late June early July, not even thinking about booking flights yet. Too many ifs, buts and maybes. That said it could of course be that the uncertain situation we are in now, remains the same in 5 or 6 weeks time. 😷

Doing quarantine in Thailand is bad enough but I am f***d if I will do it in a Travelodge near Heathrow. That is my main criteria for the next trip home - avoid quarantine at all costs when I return to UK.

  3. My first time in Samui would have been 1993 or maybe 94. Wasn't interested in Thai girls back then so much, it was more the eurosnatch I was after.😏

Took the night train from Bangkok to Surat Thani and it was party time all the way🎈🎉 On the ferry over to Samui there were Thais trying to sell rooms for rent or beach bungalows. I chose the 1 offering free weed👀

First thing I did when I got to this "resort" was to dump my stuff and run into the sea. Didn't hang around long enough to hear the warnings about the coral reef....... so I cut my foot to ribbons.👋👋

Spent the next 5 days with my foot bandaged up sat on my balcony. Every hour or so an old man would yell our "you want one bong?". Couldn't really do anything else......

The only tarmac on the island back then was the airport runway. Not sure if the full moon parties were even going at that time. It was a chilled out place for sure. If I remember correctly I spent a few nights with a girl from Belgium called Sara, oh and more than a few with a bar girl from Chaewang 😃.

Having spent 3.5 hours this morning holding doors, wiping clipboards,  cleaning chairs and directing victims, I now have AZ's best blood clothing agents vaccine circulating my body. The average time from victims arriving, the process being explained, shown to a seat to fill forms in, to being jabbed and kicked out was about 12 minutes. Bloody brilliant process.

Interesting conversation with the GP who stabbed me, along the lines of she was a stout remainer, but having seen how the EU has messed up their vaccination programme, and the threats they are coming up with, she is really glad we left and is proud to be part of the UK programme.

I was really impressed with the whole operation when I had my jab on Monday.

This is the NHS at its absolute best. You could almost feel the good will and community spirit around the place which is making the UK vaccination roll out such a success.

As for the total bollocks that is Boris and his mates spending literally billions on track and trace.....

Have you got to quarentine in a hotel when you return home?

That's a big concern Stu and part of the reason for going sooner rather than later.

To answer your question no not at this point in time. Could change tomorrow, next week - who knows?

As you know I went with Emirates via UAE which is now on the red list. The work around is returning via Dubai then Dublin and finally back to Heathrow. Kin long journey.

I'll update the back to the jungle thread later.

Wow, it doesn't seem that long since you went.

I know what you mean 😕

My visa runs out 24/02 but looks like I will travel 10/02. Really thought I would be extending rather than cutting short. However, change is a constant these days and I have stuff to do, people to meet and money to earn etc etc.

Well at least we only lost 3 points.............

One of my closest friends is a season ticket scummer 👀 as is the rest of his family. We had a chat yesterday, normal banter about the game, predicted scores etc. He said how weak Saints were due to injury. I said 2-1 United and he agreed, much to my surprise.

Think I will leave it a couple of days or so before I next speak to him...

  8. Testing will be part of international travel for the rest of 2021 IMHO, regardless of any vaccine.

Next month I will need a test before I leave Thailand and another in UK after 5 days isolation, if I don't want to isolate for 10 days. I don't because I want to start work ASAP when I get back.

Of course there is the cost factor and the nightmare of a false positive to contend with.

Such is life in 2021. Get on with it.

  10. Have I got this wrong?

I understood the vaccine doesn't actually stop you from catching the virus or for that matter passing it on. It helps the body fight the symptoms.

So if the above is correct I still can't see countries, for the foreseeable, opening their borders to travelers even if they have had the jab unless they provide a negative test before travel, or in the case of most SE Asia, doing 15 days quarantine.

Hey Big spender lol, i don't like wine enough to pay the stupid prices here in Thailand, each to their own.

Yeah I know, nigh on £20 for a £4:99 spar shop managers special. Justified it because I didn't do Sunday night on the piss in Udon as planned...

Slightly off topic but I went into Tesco Lotus at Nong Kai and they had the Antipasto platter you get in UK for a couple of quid. I mistakenly thought the price was 120 baht and stuck 2 packs in the basket. Then Mrs smiler said they were 450 baht each ... I don't like them that much to pay stupid prices etc etc
