I was scheduled to fly out was scheduled on the first day of closure.
I has happy with that AND the Thai government paid me 18,000 baht. My hotel bill was 7,000 baht for the period (PBR), leaving enough for a free Soi 6 hour and free 1-hour Thai massage EVERY day. Thanks Thai government.

Cool Lars, didn’t know you were compensated. I remember being nervous about the sit-ins, but you and that other Canuck told me “there’s worse places to be trapped than Thailand”. Mustang

Didnt matter, the next July I came for 8 months

Oh shoot! Thank Buddha Suvarnabhumi opened back up by the time my flight was leaving, it was Nov. Dec. 2008 when they had the sit ins

Ahhhh, great times, nothing like a lad’s first trip to LOS

I just hope there’s no threat of forced oral sex to move up a Level like my 1st nights @ Secrets.

It was my first time outside of North America, I thought you were serious for a second Larry

  4. I honestly don’t see why I’d post there again, just assumed it was going offfline in February. I like this forum, has better vibe and less bitchy men whining about politics. Case closed.

P.S. I still miss joking about golf with that pissed off Scotsman though

Was absolutely gutted to hear of The Progidy's Keith Flint's death. He had taken his own life.

Apart from being a long term member of the band he also owned a motorcycle race team,Team Traction Control, who won 4 Isle Of Man TT races.

Saw them play at a couple of raves back before they hit the big time.

    RIP Keith.

No way! Quite the performer, I remember in the late 90’s the controversy surrounding Smack my Bitch Up. RIP

Christ, I thought nighttime at the SkyBar had a nice view, that’s not bad there. Don’t know why I go tot these spots when I’m scared of heights, at least the 450 baht martini felt like a double

Ok, let me check my dictionnary for "pie" and "pizza" ?

    And "caramelized onion.."

Or is it some exotic humor that I missed ?

Sacre bleu, en Amerique du Nord, we say “pie” as slang for pizza. By the way monsieur, my nephew just turned 18 and met his real papa in Paris, then on to Toulouse. He loved it, the photos of Toulouse were beautiful

Diavola pizza & Angkor beer 11 USD Oscar's Bistro Phnom Penh. Way too much caramelised onion on it, ended picking most of it off. Great other than that 😁, was stuffed after half of it. Buddhist holiday was observed yesterday but no restrictions on alcohol sales.

Looks better than any pie I had in Thailand, that’s for sure

  9. Most of the Arab sandwich places here in Calgary do donair sandwiches. I like them, but always preferred the gyro souvlaki type that is more common out East in Montreal. Found a recipe online, could not believe how close it was to the restaurants’ versions.

A bit of prep involved, mainly the chicken marinade and letting it sit overnight. I used garlic naan, and the tzatziki was surprisingly quick and easy- just let the juice drain out of the cucumber
