…usually have my meals at Le Pub @ lunch time. Running behind all day yesterday, so mixed it up and had a late dinner there. As usual, 2 pkates
1. pork fried rice. Excellent!
2. Chili - very very very tasty!!!
…would have liked a bit of shredded cheddar or jack cheese on top along with finely minced onion and possibly a dolup of sour cream, but regardless both were great!!!

Yup, I had a real nice & expensive dinning room table with marble top, but seats wear by a sunny window and black shit started to flake off for a real long annoying period

There are a couple of couches that i was thinking about buying.
The one i like is more outdoors looking, won’t ever mold or get mildew, but the cushions aren’t grey in color that i was looking for. I would probably get someone to upholster it grey….anybody know a company or person who could help me???
(Movable & adjustable)
The 2nd option is of better quality, and has the color i want , but not exactly the style or ability to readjust the pieces.

There use to be a safe store across the street from the Big C on Pattaya Klang….didn’t see it when rode by…did it close or just closed on Sunday?
-
1 - 1080p tv
1 - receiver 4k w/upconverting
1 - hard drive with both 1080p & 4k movies.
So with the equipment above: will movies play to 4k quality or will the tv hinder that ability???
-
So, plan was to go to Piyanas, the audio store in Pattaya and buy all the components separately, starting first with a $2,000 USD Marantz AV Receiver. I don’t need a 7.2 receiver, but in order to get a higher wattage receiver, it’ll come with a bunch more speaker plugs and adjustable add-ons.
Friends here in my hometown, stated that since I’m only running 5 speakers and live in a condo, I don’t need to be going out and spending $2,000 USD on a receiver
….. what do you guys think???
My neighbors told me this package on Lazada or even at PowerBuy are fine. Since it’s not an overpriced/non needed features added on receiver and still comes with good Polk speakers.

Just bought a decent LG Sound bar for my son to match up with his LG OLED TV Got it from Amazon via AO for £299. 👍
The sound from the system is very good with all the usual sound systems thrown in inc wireless and remote.
Main reason I got it was the TV has ATMOS sound already built in, but the sound bar has much bigger wattage etc. More suited to his gaming on the TV. and Xbox.Easy to set up, basically plug and play.
I’ve connected it via HDMI 2.1 cable through the eARC output from TV to eARC input on the sound bar.
I chose not to use optical cable as it won’t carry some pic/audio signals that HDMI 2.1 can and many say that the sound through it isn’t as good as HDMI 2.1 cables.
Haven’t yet bought the extra speakers inc Base speakers to make it 5.2 system, as I want him to decide if they are needed, but if he wants them, then it’ll be easy to set up as they are wireless and only require a power plug. I wouldn’t want to go higher than 5.2 Surround sound because of the size of his bedroom.
U using the soundbar as your Center Channel?

I too looked for wireless systems in Thailand and they don't exist. Unfortunately, Sonos are not supported here in Thailand as they can't handle the 220 power/wattage levels. If they were, I would just had bought them in the states and brought them over
-
Back in the states, I always set-up a 5.1 surround sound system. I've always been told back in the day, that 1 sub was standard.
It seems to me that these days having 2 subs is the way to go - 5.2 system. That is probably what I will go with

me I would be looking at the new style of unit that goes directly under the tv and is as lon gas the tv is wide
Back here in the States, I always set-up a 5.1 s

I have a giant wall as my projection wall for my Projector (no tv)
I won't be using a Speaker Tower as my screen will be stretched to the edges
...will NOT be buying Speaker Tower
So, my options are either:
3 Speakers
or 2 Speakers on the ends with a Center Channel
Center Channel + two speakers on both ends
or
in wall speakers
... I don't know much about speaker set-ups, so curious what others have done or suggest I do.
thanks!

When I was working in Thailand, I worked quite a bit in China and took China Eastern Airlines many times. After the chaos and all the pushing and shoving that goes on while boarding and disembarking along with the dirty acts on the plane, chose not to fly China Eastern Airlines whenever I could use another airlines. I don't have any good things to say about CEA or some of the etiquette of Chinese from China.

Was just there last night staying almost right next door. More and more bars are opening but they're still closing at 11 and girls are kind of thin on the ground. But one of the local guys up here told me that every week it seems to be getting busier with more girls.
...U staying at @Home Udon Thani Hotel ?
You book through a site?
-
I need to head up to Udon Thani for a meeting in May. Trying to decide on whether to just go for the day and come back or stay 3-5 days...
Anybody know if the night complex and other girly beer bars are open in UT?

Thanks everyone for the information and help.
I decided to schedule a full check-up with the Eye Dr. over at Bangkok Pattaya hospital in Pattaya.
My last check-up was quite a few years ago when I was still working in Bangkok - over at Rutnin Eye Hospital.
I am too lazy to go all the way into Bangkok, so will just go to BPH.
I'll see them in a couple of weeks and report back how things went/costs/etc...

Heard it rained the other day…my bigger concern is all the humidity as it hinders the ability for my floors to dry as they are laying the epoxy coats in my condo. Taking an extra day for each coat to dry fully 😞

Went 2019 to BHP because I had a feeling, that my right eye sight was not very good despite trying different glasses. There was a young, pretty lady doctor but she couldn't find anything wrong.
Two years later a male doctor at BHP diagnosed the eye to have cataract which needs to be observed.
Not sure if the lady doc should have detect it earlier already or not. Just a heads up in case a pretty lady is staring into your eyes.
Cataract - If you end up after an exam of the early stages of cataracts, can you get a Lasik procedure to fix that ???
or are you usually stuck with having to wear glasses???

As someone who has had eye problems for many years I have kept across this, just in case. The Rutnin Eye Hospital on Sukhumvit has consistently got the most recommendations as Bangkoks best
Just looked through my records and it seems I went there for an eye exam quite a few years ago.
I will book locally at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital as I am too lazy to go all the way to BKK this time around

Do you mean a eye sight test, purely for the purpose of changing spectacles/lenses if necessary? If you suspect some underlying problem which may need surgical intervention then hospital/consultant may be the answer.
...I'll go and see her for my appt and go from there.
I did have lasik surgery a while back and would like to have my eyes checked again as my surgery was over 10 years ago.
