Just watched the Manu Utd game. Pissing down, windy and cold... Time to paint a ceiling.

Yes there will be changes, some that many of the older stalwarts may not like.
Maybe vaccine requirements will help. But insurance will be mandatory and I am not sure how newly arrived ex pats will be received.

Don't really know this guy, or much about Addicts. If the forum continues without some of the xenophobic characters around on some other forums, all is good.

So its looking like country's are gearing up for the vaccine passport..but we new this would come in..
No country will leave itself vulnerable to import a potential risk to its well being and economy. Just another layer of stress before travelling particularly the 72 hour window for testing negative.

Truth is probably somewhere between. Pockets are busy, but a friend who lives there says fairly quiet over all.

Just been on to a friend of mine who advises me that she is being picked up tomorrow by an old boy friend and then going on to another house to meet up with another 3 friends but it is alright as they have 4 sofas in their house.
After telling her that she is being rather irresponsible as she was in a lockdown situation and she is not in a bubble with any of the people she is seeing she said it doesn't happen often. I replied that it only needs to happen once to get the virus. Also considering she is in a post code that has been designated a place where one of the new variants is I think she is mad.
As long as this attitude prevails there will be ongoing cases of transmission and the pandemic won't end any time soon.
I am shocked as I thought she was smart.
Of course she is not the only one who thinks she is being careful and plenty of people take a chance but this is why sometimes the draconian rules should apply as people just can't be trusted to do the right thing.
I am sure this happens in the UK too. If many who think this way were to look in a couple of hospitals, may well change their thinking.

Problem, a bank manager for many gives a false sense of security. Gives some an idea he has some sort of inside knowledge. Feel sorry for those who lost money, as its often those who need cash think they have spotted a golden goose only to be devastated after.

Not so sure about that; I have friends in their late 60s and 70s living on the dark-side who are often out 4-5 nights a week. They also have cash to spend which ensures they always have a good time.
When I lived there I couldn't keep up with them and I was the one who was happy to stay home most nights and I was younger than all of them.
Come across this on one of my cycling groups. Some older riders have stronger constitutions. I often get left for dead on some of the hills.

Seems to be the Chelsea blueprint & and to be honest its worked . Titles cups etc .
Agree but it seems only a short while ago Lampard was getting merit.
But I guess sign of the times you have big money at your disposal to buy players, plus a big salary you have to perform 100%. Also, your only as good as your last five games.

A big difference between 1997 and now is Thailand's foreign currency reserve balance. Using Wikipedia as a source, Thailand's reserve balance is 13th highest in the world at 258,134 million USD. That's a substantial slush fund the country has available to cover govt debt. Surprised the Bangkok Post article didn't mention this.
Investors seem to like Thailand as a safe haven.

Or Thai immigration could modernise and start accepting debit and credit cards. Even better, make those mandatory and forbid cash, that will cut down on corruption and opportunities to embezzle the cash.
I am sure the tea money is viewed by some immigration officials, as part of their salary.

Recently started to buy more frozen stuff and using the freezer more saving extra shopping trips. Apparently if left empty will consume more juice. Surprised at the choice available.

Watching batman forever while I find some energy and enthusiasm to carry on moving house
Found moving bloody hard work. Difficult, but essential ( was for me ) to throw away stuff that was kept for mainly sentimental reasons.

I also had a 5.1 setup which had good quality sound, i don't think there's a lot of difference so replace when you have to is my advice.
When I think how much I used to spend on amps and speakers 20 odd years ago, and now can potentially get a better sound out of a relatively inexpensive, given price comparison, sound bar.

I still have an AV amp with 5.1 setup but often wondered about the comparison with sound bars.

Enjoyed there a cool place to get refreshed out of the sun. Very sad.
Just wondering if any of the places that have closed, will be resurrected in time when the world gets better.

Not attending gigs, football matches, group bike rides and walks I miss. But keep busy with DIY stuff and keeping in touch online with friends in Thailand helps.
I am a believer in how you deal with a shit situation, is sometimes more significant.
