Been for a longer walk today, the sun was out so I enjoyed the 4.5 miles done.

Showered up and just eaten dinner. Now it's an evening of TV.

Biggest decision is whether to have another night off the booze or open a bottle of red wine.

The kettle is on for now, for a flavoured green tea.

I must say I prefer tea all kinds but I do like a drop of red..I've just purchased some verbena tea I think its Moroccan apparently good for relaxing just before bed

Up a bit earlier today at 0930.

The rain has stopped and the sun is shining. Yaayyyyyyy.

Just seen the weather report and we have snow moving in, oh what joy!

We are going to need some Sledge bike things over here to get about as the country stops dead with a bit of the white stuff.

    Crazy..used to go school in 70s 80s in snow drifts..loved it 👍

I'm a bit more positive, the Glastonbury cancellation seems in part caused by their inability to find an insurer.

The ECB have pressed ahead selling tickets at inflated prices for the cricket this summer🙂 London Marathon reckon they will have 50k runners, albeit that is  in October.

Also thought I'd heard about more of Euro 2021 football being transferred to the UK. That's in June by that point in the UK anyone who hasn't been vaccinated will have either refused it or being a relatively low risk group. Life here is going to have to move on by

Yes I think with Glastonbury it's such a big international event with bands from all over the world..it would be to much of a risk to press ahead at the moment..like you said by June the way ahead should be a little more clearer in the uk..👍

  4. Well that's Glastonbury cancelled for another year..festivals not my bag but got to feel sorry for those who enjoy them..I guess fans of sporting events will be left disappointed again this year. 2021 another year of shite

I have signed up for the vaccination here in Durango. I am in the A-2 group due to my age. Hopefully it will happen in the next 3 to 4 weeks. San Juan Basin Health ( who is the overseer of all such things big and small ) will contact me to set the date.

Have you heard anything about the Johnson & Johnson vaccine rollout in the states, any dates. I did read it had I high efficacy and only one jab needed..I think the UK ordered millions. Cheers

My 85 year old mother had her jab on friday. Her appointment was 10.48. There was a queue of about 20, she waited for about 8 minutes  was done and went home.

Slight headache reported that evening, but back to normal by Saturday.

Children of the war generation made of stern stuff 👍

Not what I have heard although I am happy to be wrong.

I have a friend who lives in the 'Terminal' on Soi 88 who tells me most of the local style bars north of the railway are open when they are allowed to.  The rules change and some bars pretend to be restaurants. Some areas such as Soi 94 were closed early while others were open.

From what my friend tells me (and remember I am really talking about local bars serving those living in Hua Hin i.e not Bintibaht area) there were many bars still offering a beer and a girl even during the quiet times.

If all else fails get down to Baan Khun Por, the food area near the Soi 88 junction with the railway, that (again when allowed) is a great place to meet freelancers and local girls.

I also keep in touch with the HUAHIN Forum which gives local updates.

The rules about closures etc are changing regularly and I think they were updated yesterday due to decreases in infection rates but need to check with my friend what that means for bars.

Which copper you know and money paid sometimes circumvents local rules.

Baan khun por, you say..that's going in the memory bank 👍

    It's been a stressful day.

I woke up to a cold house. My boiler had packed up. Good timing with it being freezing outside!

After taking all the covers off and doing a bit of investigation I found the flu fan to be burnt out. 30 minutes on the phone resulted in not being able to source one until Monday. I decided to take the hit and call out a National company in the hope that they would probably carry one on the van, or at least be able to get one today. A bit of a shock when a guy knocked on my door within the hour. Apparently he was working 2 streets away when the job came up on his phone.

The good news was he accepted my diagnosis, double checked himself straight away and confirmed that the fan was faulty. ( This save alot of time as they charge by the hour )

Bad news was that he didn't carry the spare, nor did he have time to fit it today anyway, but he rang a supplier and they said they would have one in stock for him for tomorrow.

So I am in for a cold night. Fortunately I have an electric portable heater which is man enough to keep my living room well warm, but the rest of the house is going to get rather frosty. I also bought a new dovet this week for my bed and I haven't thrown the old one out, so it's a double douvet night in bed and see how we get on.

As a last resort, I do spend nights fishing on the bank, so I do have all the thermal gear to survive in the cold if need be. So I won't freeze too much. LOL

Just hoping he turns up tomorrow with the part and nothing else is wrong.

Have you got any brandy in..I'd get in a sleeping bag and hit the bottle 👍
