On my recent visit to BKK I had a walk up Soi 6 to see what was happening at the DG.It's my favourite hotel in the big city.
It is open, although the coffee shop outside is closed and the front desk is now repositioned and much smaller.
They did tell me the price of a room & a suite but I can't remember what they were although not expensive.
Good news. Always a great place to stay.

I have a copy of A Maigret Christmas and Other Stories. Georges Simenon was a fascinating man, a Belgian, who once claimed to have had 10,000 lovers in the 61 years since his 13th birthday. His second wife claimed it was closer to 1,200, one of whom was Josephine Baker. Pity he never came to Thailand he could have easily doubled that figure!

Used Etihad (via Abu Dhabi) a few times a few years ago. Timings and connections were always quite good, prices usually reasonable. Up to that point I had convinced myself that two flights of 6 hours with a chance to stretch my legs in between was the way to go. Once I took my first direct flight with Thai Airways I decided that was my preference.

Also got to bear in mind whether you would encounter problems at check-in at the start of your trip. If your return trip is beyond the standard visa exempt period they may not let you fly notwithstanding you booked with them.

Are they the kuntz that blocked off the walkthrough to soi 2??
If they are then I thoroughly recommend ............. that everybody goes in there and shits on the reception desk!
That's a shocker, did not realise the walkthrough had been closed. What about the Mexican restaurant that was on the walkthrough and the Annies massage place? I sometimes stayed in the soi 2 hotel now known as the Doubletree Hilton and it would be a pain in the ass to have to walk up to Sukhumvit, turn right and then walk along to soi 4 for the Plaza.

I had an unplanned second booster ( 4 now in total ) yesterday from the nurse who was visiting several housebound tenants who live in the Condo complex. I struck up a conversation with her inside the entrance and as she had several vaccination kits spare which would be thrown away after 6 hours I saw no reason not to take up her offer of an early second booster.
She logged into her version of the NHS app and I confirmed that my last booster had been Moderna.
"This is the same as Moderna but with a different name" says the nurse.
Within 10 minutes all done and she confirmed that all my vaccination records had been updated.
It was not until I came over this topic today that I decided to look at the leaflet she had left with me.
Apparently I have been vaccinated with.................................. "SPIKEVAX"
Manufactured in San Sebastian de los Reyes, Madrid.
Hola.
Are you sure it was a real nurse and not just some nutcase who likes to dress up as a nurse and inject people? Spikevax sounds like the sort of thing that you might get in your drink at a dodgy nightclub!

What recent collapse in Don Muang ??? Was there recently impressed with how they have redeveloped it ..... not been in years.
About a week ago heavy storm damage partially destroyed the new terminal at DM. The building was only one year old.

Something I will never be able to get my head around... lol
Good, cheap, old fashioned comfort food. I like to jazz mine up by putting butter and marmite on the toast then layer the beans onto the toast with melted cheese. Add Worcestershire sauce, HP sauce (a tamarind based brown sauce) and season with lots of black pepper.

Thinking fucking hell, this Woke bollocks is ridiculous ...
Men are reportedly being asked whether they are pregnant before being given radiotherapy.
Cancer patients and those having X-rays and MRI scans are being asked the question, even if they are not women because the word 'female' has been replaced by 'individuals' for medical procedures.
In Liverpool, the Walton Centre NHS Trust now asks 'all patients under the age of 60, regardless of how you may identify your gender' whether they could be having a baby.
Yeah but given the state of a lot of blokes bellies it probably is a fair question to ask these days 🙃

This is a recreation of a dish my mom made when I was a kid, Green Eggs & Ham ...
named after the iconic Dr. Seuss book.
It's actually a baked frittata, consisting of eggs, a lot green vegetables, cheese, mushrooms, onions, diced smoked ham and bacon. I used baby spinach, beet tops, celery, havarti cheese and basil in my version.
My younger sister was an exceptionally picky eater and Greens Eggs & Ham was one of the few dishes she'd eat without a struggle. The name and connection to the Dr. Seuss book had a lot to do with it. If my mom had called it an omelet, I doubt my sister would have eaten it.
I'd like to think my mom can up with the recipe, but I'm sure she got it from a women's magazine. Each portion packs a lot of nutrition that's especially good for picky eaters. Endless variations are possible.
I like mine topped with shaved aged Parmesan, the real deal, from a block of imported Parmesan, not the shaker crap which doesn't deserve to be called Parmesan.
I do so like green eggs and ham. Thank you. Thank you, Sam-I-Am.

Things you should do:
1. Wear a giant hat like one of those novelty sombreros
2. Shout abuse at the referee and linesmen
3. Start a Mexican wave. Even if it is just you and the wife doing it the whole stadium will appreciate your effort.
4. For a spot on your local evening TV news try a pitch invasion. Get the wife to do it with you and run in different directions to confuse the security guys. Your wife should probably take off her high heels but you should keep yours on for extra comedy effect.
Enjoy the game and let us know how it goes. 👍
