Not too sad if it's decent methinks.
Yeah it's OK and not that much more expensive than in Europe I guess.
I don't go out at all these days for obvious reasons so spending a few extra quid on decent wine won't break the bank and is a bit of a treat to myself.

I don't care about mass tourism......I just want to be able to take a swim in our condos pool, and use the gym.....Its all locked up tighter than Fort Knox right now...
And how does that relate to summer in the northern hemisphere lol.
What we need is infections under control locally, and we appear to be heading that way as per previous post.

Countries north of the equator have summer and winter opposite of countries south of the equator....So the mass lockdowns are working in reverse too....Winter=lockdown Summer=relax lockdown...
Could be but it won't change a thing here. The Thais are not going to let people in en mass just because they've relaxed the lockdowns in Europe and the US.

Well today I decided that even Soi Bukow has now joined in with the rest of the city in having that deserted/ desolate look....
What worries me is we are way ahead of last year as far as business desperation goes.........Last year people started only talking about the China virus about January 20th...And nothing even closed till March....Look where we are and its only January 10th......We have 4 or 5 months to go till the Northern Summer months....
Which northern summer months are you referring to?
It could be 40 degrees in Europe with everyone vaccinated, but as long as Thais aren't all vaccinated forget about tourism returning here.
Hopefully local tourism will be allowed again soon although that won't save central Pattaya I'm afraid.

Saw this article and thought their generosity would be better put to use helping to feed those unemployed rather than the employed.
It was stated somewhere that handing out food wasn't allowed.

This article indicated most of the checkpoints are occurring late at night.
Pakarathorn did say that there were many checkpoints throughout Chonbur between districts, especially overnight, but these were checking things like temperature checks and utilizing a Thai tracing platform like Mor Chana.
Cool, I don't usually drive at night anyway.

I drove around town today and was expecting checkpoints but saw none. They clearly didn't last long.

Another Swede died in similar circumstances as well last week.

Yes happened a couple days ago at 07.30 AMish. Incredibly sad, especially since loads with witnesses stood by and did nothing.

Women follow the rules more closely than men. White people follow them more than people from ethnic minorities. Richer people tend to be less compliant. So do key workers and 18-to-29-year-olds.
The amazing thing here is that ethnics are more likely to die from it.
Are ethnics more likely to die from it, or are more ethnics dying from it because they don't follow the rules as much? I'm not aware of any genetic predisposition regarding covid.

Yes i remember reading on one of the forums about him, i think you are correct he did a runner either owing money or with the money.
Yep was known to offer free food at his bar and a popular guy until he disappeared with a load of cash from selling his bar. Currently living in Manilla according to my sources.

What did Trump do to stop the siege on the Capital today.
Who said anything about stopping Covid. Managing the crisis? Yes absolutely!! This President didn't do that.

4 PROVINCES LOCKED DOWN INCLUDING CHONBURI
in General topics
Posted
Nee cases still low in Chonburi with only 4 in Banglamung.
As a restaurant you typically like to be top of the list, but not this list I imagine. Funny how they got the Soi wrong though..
