Everything written about Dave he has written about publicly himself numerous times. He has written many times about his health issues, his battle with diabetes and his amputations, including posting photos from his hospital bed of the open wounds where the removed body part had once been. He was chuffed with what I wrote yesterday and has posted links to it on Facebook.
As for writing personal things about Mister Egg, I am pretty sure I have never done that. We exchange email from time to time and there has never been an issue that I am aware of. If there is, I am sure he would email me - and any issue would be resolved quickly.
From time to time I will write something which some might consider personal but I will not name the person. Often it is in the telling of something interesting or humorous where the person's identity is not important. An example might be something along the lines of "A well-known bar manager slipped antibiotics in to his wife's soup as he believes he has passed gonorrhea on to her and is trying to fix the problem without admitting to her that he has been shagging one of his girls without a rubber." It might be something amusing or somehow interesting, but the person's identity is not at all important (even though in many cases some people may know who is being referred to).

Lol, just a few weeks back Stickman pronounced........"In a last minute reprieve, Dave has secured a new gig. Dave The Rave is a survivor"
And as I reported, that is exactly what happened. Dave was offered a marketing job by The Nana Group (owners of Lollipop, Angelwitch and some other bars in Nana Plaza along with The Game, Old English Pub). Dave did two weeks work for them and then they went silent. He asked what was going on. No reply. Would he be paid for the work he did for them? No reply. Was he paid for the work he did? No! That is a rotten way to treat anyone, but especially someone seriously down on his luck who had performed the work you asked of him. And that was the point at which Dave decided he couldn't go on.

I got a 12 month offer of the same flights for one year at no extra cost in mid March. Did not ask for a refund but bought on credit card so .....
Which is probably a decent enough deal because I reckon when flights resume they will be more expensive than before Covid-19.

You are not a bank or a registered charity. Look after you and yours first.
Personally, I would draw a line no later than the end of this month and tell them there will be a job for then when you are able to reopen.
Yep, many months at the minimum. The problem might be less about Thailand, but more that people's home countries impose self-isolation or quarantine...so you go to Thailand and have a holiday - but when you get home you have to go in to quarantine for 2 weeks. That will put people off. I suspect international tourism is buggered for at least 12 months.

May if in fact they don't extend this
A few months, I'd say. As the number of confirmed cases soars Thailand will likely follow what is going on elsewhere...and that means bars reopening in the short-term is very, very unlikely. June at the absolute earliest would be my guess for when bars reopen. At the earliest.

for those of you thinking of coming to the LOS.. as long as you can get here... once you are here you will find that yes it is quiet, but there is no panic, life is normal and shops are full. people are going about theior normal business, markets are busy and it aint that bad. will that change.. who knows but to be fair, heat and drought aside, its still a great place to be, and ps.. we have bog rolls but dont tell everyone 🙂
And what happens when you want to go home? I think anyone who ventures to Thailand (or any country not their own) at this time is really rolling the dice. Goodness only knows what travel restrictions may come next. We can joke that getting stuck in Thailand would be heaven, but if things go in to lockdown I don't know that it would be quite so much fun. And seriously, do we really think the bars are going to remain open? Ireland ordered all bars closed 24 hours before St Paddy's Day. At some point you'd think it will happen in Thailand too....

Am I worried about Coronavirus, no!
I'm healthy, indeed just back from the gym, lead a very healthy lifestyle. I'd kick f**k outta it. Probably get it and not even know. Wife is healthy as well.
My parents are both in their 70's, both have had the flu numerous times in the past few years. Was I concerned, not in the least. Well, slightly for my Dad, as he has other ongoing health issues.
If either contracted coronavirus would I be worried, yes, extremely.
And therein lies the problem. You might kick the fxxk out of as you so eloquently put it, but what happens if in the meantime you contract it and then when you are back home visiting your folks you pass it on to Ma & Pa. That's the scenario that worries me most and is the reason I chose not to visit Thailand at this time. I'm healthy so would reasonably expect to make a quick recovery from it, but passing it on to my folks who are older and not in such good health would be a nightmare.

Only tried a few Thai dishes there and always found the food bland. In fairness, I haven't eaten there for a number of years as I gave up on it. A shame, as the location and the people-watching opportunities there are great.

Why would it concern me ?
"Lek, Big Boobs A Gogo Pattaya, short-time fee" might make for an interesting entry on a credit card statement....
It's not just the control that governments get over you and the massive risks, there are A LOT of terrible unintended consequences if things went entirely cashless.

Thanks for cheering us up and looking on the bright side of things.
I recently found out I've got it albeit at border line level.
So now the question to ask yourself is whether you're just going to accept it, or whether you're going to make lifestyle changes to overcome it, and effectively reverse it. How badly do you want to avoid the potential problems that can follow? A good diet and exercise is all that is required....and you're only borderline at this point - so there is no reason you can't turn it around!

I know heaps of guys with type 2 in Bangkok. The effects of it are terrible.
One had his leg amputated and died a few years later. Another had his big toe amputated 3 years ago and the "hole" has still not closed up and healed properly. Another has had all sorts of health problems, most of which are attributed to being a side effect of diabetes.
Diabetes is an evil disease but the good thing is that type 2 can easily be avoided. It's a lifestyle disease so watch what you eat, exercise and you should be ok.

Catz. Probably my all time favourite Pattaya bar. I have always found the best times I have had in the bars have been in smaller bars that have a decent number of girls and are farang-owned and -managed - and Catz was all of those. Used to really love it there.

An old friend mentioned this forum and suggested I should sign up. He said this forum would be free of the nastiness and bullying that has become so pervasive elsewhere. That sounds like a great strategy so here I am, signing up. Liverpool fan, All Blacks fan, sheep shagger....that's all the important stuff!

I think it's time for me to take leave from this board. There are some miserable sods on here who don't like me (which I really couldn't care about) and who seem determined to refer to totally unrelated stuff to try and make a point. I'm happy to defend what I have written on Stickman but to do so I would have to respond with stuff (that I believe is widely known but conveniently ignored) to explain. That would just get people upset and could end up being rather unkind to those not present to defend themselves. So rather than do that I'll do what I should have done already and leave this board permanently. Goodbye.
