Had to cut this trip down to 4 hours (had to meet my friend living permanently at Hua Hin for lunch), left our apartment 7am, back 1pm.

Some 1 hour drive from Hua Hin, to the south.

There are eight attractions, we did only two. One can spend a day there, I wish we could.

To climb up, the warning is not for nothing. A terrible and demanding climb

No climbing after 15:30, an officer there to turn you back

To climb up, it is a horror. No wonder travel agencies do not have that in their schedules. 

My daughter and myself are fit, we can do that. Even in the heat

Takes 30 minutes to climb up 395m, the track is more suitable for the goats rather than for the humans

Then, the prize. A fantastic view, albeit the weather was not great

A boat for the tourists, 500THB per ride, . A couple (Philipinos) were waiting there for someone to show up. It worked out 100THB per person.

Fine customers, my wife claims she had seen HiSO and heroes from her Thai soapies buying there

Call me a pervert, but intentionally I forfeited the luxury hotels, wanted to be right there, Khaoi Takiab. Ate fish and seafood a week, lunch and dinner.
And the accommodation was on par with the Sheraton, twice bigger, brand new. It was 1,500 THB a day for the apartment. Only breakfast at the Sheraton is 700THB per person. And no Indian spectacular weddings that encroach the common area.

As for the fishing boats, those that do not moore at the canals, are left to look after themselves during low tides. Rails on both sides, the boat can lean and rest and come upright when the seas come up. Quite inginuine, me thinks. 

At the end of the day, that is the same fleet that dots the horizon at night. A lovely sight, without them, the sea would be a black hole.

Yes does written documents (my event reports) and interprets, called translator, don't know if her pay depends on what she is engaged as.

August 2017, stopped by and had a look into the Hua Hin airport.

Staff (beautiful ladies) thought I was after a scenic flight. Gave me this newspapers, free, they said (although it had a price on the cover).

I had doubts it would ever work. But it has, since May 18th 2018. Four flights a week.

Also, I had doubts that Hua Hin - Pattaya ferry would ever have enough customers. Witnessed, it does, posted somewhere ,above this post.

But here we are, July 2018.

No cars, passengers only katamaran

It was Tuesday. July 31, just ordinary weekday and it was almost full. Outside waiting room has 136 seats, inside aircon room another 70.

Going to Hua Hin since 2002 for a week each year. Was it 2003. when mini Tesco Lotus opened? I even think it should have stopped there.

Now it is a madness, useless due to traffic jams. A friend, living there permanently told me November - March another 40,000 Scandinavians, Russians descend on the place and choke it off totally.

Just wait another 5 years when extension of the airport and new terminal building are complete. It is planned for 3.5 mil passengers a year. ( Koh Samui airport is 2.1 mil with planes landing every 15-20 minutes.)

From previous years stay, Dusit Thani, Sheraton, but not any more. Traffic to get to the city. If I stay in a hotel again, then Marriott, across shopping mall, no driving needed.

This year we stayed in an apartment past Khao Takiab, where Huan Hin - Pattaya ferry pier is. Will go again that area, even that same place. From there, reaching BluPort shopping mall is not too bad and not too far, no need to go into or through the city ever again.

Is it why first time out of 100 flights into Thai on the plane they said "If you do not fill your address in Thailand, you may be denied entry". Never heard that before.

I filled in what I remembered about my own condo, like area and unit number, did not know post code. Officer insisted that I state building name.

Never before asked, coming same place 3 times a year since 2008.
