Interesting indeed. I'll need to research Spain in depth a bit.
Told ya, there's one decent Thai restaurant in Tenerife, only decent mind, not even great, and you have prebook or you won't get a table, it's rammed, and not cheap either.
Couple of smaller supposed Thai places as well, but they're Chinese, my missus wouldn't entertain them.

Most probably Derek. We never bought the takeaway although the owner keeps reducing His offer. It's very tempting but naw, I got the house to finish I need the time.
Having a wee peek at Spanish property, I miss the sunshine but I think I prefer Guinness.
Canary Islands mate, all year round customers, Irish bars for Guinness and and better strip Clubs

The divers wife of 7 years is, I believe, 40 years of age.
Musk has lost the plot and if he’s not careful, he’ll lose his company.
You can’t mouth off and expect investors to lose money when the shares drop 7% in value.
Anyway, Mercedes is getting into electric cars and they have the money and production know how, to do it right. Musk has severe production problems, and is losing money every minute.
He should have sat in that car he launched into space. 😡
Yes, I was something you'd expect said from some muppet who had watched to much Jeremy Kyle and never left Barnsley in his life

This is fishing in a pool. Got some massive Carp, Amazon Red and Mekong Catfish amongst others. I caught a Pacu (related to Piranha) and a huge Arapaima last time. Another guy caught an Alligator Gar, who head (and teeth!) look exactly like an alligator. Great day out and would thoroughly recommend it.
Hua Hin offers both then, didn't know that.
I like diving, only negative thing i'd read about Hua Hin, no good there. But small potatoes, have the likes of Krabi which is world class not far away.
Anyway, for another thread, this is the 'intro' thread, just wanted to make new members know they are welcome
Could start a Hua Hin thread if you wanted

Hope you enjoy it there as much as I do. There's an Aussie guy on You Tube with a channel call "Johnny There is Somehting Happening". He lives in Hua Hin and posts some good restaurant reviews. If you like fishing too, visit Hua Hin Fishing Lodge. Great day out and owned by a Brit.
Cheers mate,
I do like fishing by the way, especially sea fishing. It was one of the reasons I would only move to by the sea.
I know i'd need hobbies, stuff to do.

Hi everyone on the forum.
Been using another, large Thai forum for years but find that all the adverts has now put me off of it.
Met a chap at the Birmingham Thai temple today who told me he had started this forum, so thought I’d give it a go.
I retired when I was 47 (now 66) and at 50, moved to Thailand in 2000 with my Thai wife, who I met in the UK in 1998 where she was doing her second degree.
Moved to HuaHin and had a beach house, just down from the Palace.
Fantastic life, as I was on a retirement visa, and spent most of our time traveling.
We spend time between Thailand and UK.
Hope to enjoy this forum.
Khun Don.
Great, that's kinda my plan for the future.
Welcome by the way.

Thanks and Hello to you. If I was a single man (which I'm not at the moment) it would have to be Pattaya. I'd like to live close to beach and, personally, I really like Hua Hin. It's clean (probably due to the Royal Family residence), has enough night life to keep a man interested, many excellent restaurants plus a multitude of shopping malls, where you can get anything you want. Also, if you did fancy a weekend on the wildside, the ferry is only one and a half hours away from Patts.
Yea, I've heard good things about Hua Hin.
Like you, i'd prefer by the sea. Wife has family in Sattahip, Uncle in the Navy, go there quite a bit so was toying with there.
But going to Hua Hin in January for a week, get a feel for it. It's only a week, so see how I feel.

Hi all. New to the group. First visited Thailand around 2009 and have been back several times every year since. Ultimately I plan to retire to Thailand (but also will consider Bali, Cambodia and Vietnam) but, unfortunately personal circumstance mean I'm stuck in the UK for a few more year. Nice to meet everyone.
Where would you retire to in Thailand, if so?
Something I've toyed with myself, though not sure if I could.
Welcome, by the way
Things you love today.

Understand.
There's loads of Chinese places.
But the smaller Thai places are not Thai, they are Chinese cooks trying to cook Thai and not getting it anywhere near right. My missus won't entertain them.
