Phil looks as if he needs a good rest and a chance to recharge his batteries. Finally finding a buyer for Milk cannot have come a day too soon.
I look forward to seeing a rejuvenated Phil in Le Pub when I visit in March.
Yep, hopefully the relief of shifting it will perk him up.
Excellent time to visit in March

In the same YT clip egg alludes to he is considering getting out of the Pattaya bar owner game ... and chasing a bar in another Thailand location. I suspect he will as you can see a deterioration of his outward demeanor, if not his health, over the years, especially after he became a blogger.
Wouldn't surprise me if 'Richard' takes over le pub eventually.
I thought he looked tired and he hadn't shaved , but then if I was being filmed just now, not sure I'd look that different😀. He did also seemed subdued.
Maybe if it was Baloon Chaser filming it, he tells Phil to have a shave and cheer up a bit, at it comes out different?
Anyway I'm off to have a shave now and brighten up my appearance, in case this Richard character starts eyeing up my assets!!!

I just saw a U-Tube video from Phil announcing that he has found a buyer for Milk.
I will be surprised if it ever becomes a rival to Le Pub next door.
Milk's girls staying put?
Thanks just watched it. Noticed he referred to the purchaser several times by his first name Richard.
Existing bar owner?

Gents
Any ideas, I can't seem to find a weather forecast on the Bangkok post site anymore.
The Thai met office site when I've tried it is very flaky
What website do you use to keep track on the weather here and what would say is the most accurate?
Cheers!

Interesting Man U line up tonight.
Evans and Maguire at centre back, and Lindelof.at left As a Spurs fan not suprised to see Regullion on the bench, found him a bizarre loan signing for Man U
Had they not watched him play? Poor defender

Written in 2020, didn't know it existed till picking it up in a second hand bookstore. As funny as anything he's written. Only seems to get poor reviews from Trump fans.

When I was made redundant in February last year I weighed 61 kilograms, now I’m around 70 as I put on weight from being inactive. But I’m back at the gym again so my weight is dropping.
70kg is no issue at your height, your too skinny for this board😉

Thanks. For me, I have to do a mixture of cardio ( walk, bike, row) plus weights and gentle home stretches etc as I find that covers all bases with the weights n cycling really toning the muscles- it’s just fitting it all in which I need to make time to do.
pretty sure you can get back into it !All sounds very sensible if you are pushed for time I find the online Yoga videos like a Adrienne really good. 10 to 15 minutes long, warm up before hand and guaranteed you'll get a good work out, strength, balance and flexibility.
I can easily run 5k outdoors but a yoga video challenges me more as my flexibility needs work.

But be just starting introducing exercise to my routine so hoping this will aid the process and get to my goal by the end of November
Sounds like you are doing fantasticly well🤞
Several of you on here putting me to shame, not been to a gym for a month now. My excuse of moving to Thailand is wearing a bit thin now!!
This may not apply to you, but find when I restart exercise after a long lay off(more than a month), I will put on weight a first.
Muscle weighs more than fat, my weight will go up for a few weeks, plateau and then begin falling. Muscle burning more calories begin to kick.
Apologies if you are well aware of it. But thought it worth a mention so you are not discourage by your weight changing as you exercise.

Hey...I am not just a 1 trick pony either...50 pound barbell curls too LOL!
Very nice! Pet hate of mine in gyms is watching some knucklehead with a too large a weight using momentum to do the same exercise.
Textbook from you😎

Wow, you found Fullers porter.
Is that Cheers bar perhaps?
Yes Cheers bar. I've seen Pride that they also stock for the same price as Villa, 229 baht.

Was once having a lovely chat with a Brit Bobbie in some section of London (forgot the hood, a lot of sports bars, etc.).
Might have been Soho/Picadilly circus? Perfect area to take a visitor for a night out. Also used to be a large vice squad in Soho

I'm planning next year's dates to fit in with local Beer Festivals to try out loads of Independent Brewers all in one go.
Also, what has become my favourite pub, changes his ales EVERY WEEK!!! Fantastic choice!!
That pub looks fantastic, and I applaud your holiday strategy Sir!!
You maybe familair with the site but Whatpub is an excellent resource. Opening times of independant pubs can vary, Whatpub is always correct, unlike Google

Never had the IPA or dark, all I know is the original Gold one is pretty much the best beer ever.....but 13 years ago hard to find because they have to protect their own cash cows, wonder if its widely available now? Last time I believe I had was 2018, 6 pack on NYE cost about$18 CAD, well worth it
The night I got robbed, started off with this, was amazing for a draft pint, make that PINTSSSSSS! From Chicago, maybe @Glasseye has heard of it?
Beer Lao Dark is a treat.
I wouldn't say either the Dark or the Lager are widely availailable though. Although a friend told me that both Butterflies and Billboard serve it at a bargain 180 Baht😇
Have been to the Goose Island Brew pub, before seeing the Cubs. Both were fantastic, had an Old Fashioned Beer in Wrigley Field, a new one on me.
That was before Goose Island sold their business to AB. Wouldn't buy it in the UK on principle, would rather give my money to one of the smaller independant brewers than a brewing giant. However in Thailand now, and I'd snap you hand off for a pint to it😀

Had a brilliant night out last night somewhere in BKK.... Went to see a band called Marijuana!!!
Coming out of the venue and waiting for a taxi back to Don Mueang, there was 4 coppers talking with the venues security guards.
I just jolliley said good evening gents are you OK? Only to be pulled up by my son in law in the taxi.
f**k me did I do something terrible?
Never ever have I had dealings with the Thai police but surely a polite hello is not out of the question?
Probably naive on my part but good god! Farang cannot say anything to the BIB.
Would you have done the same in the UK on an evening out?
I might give a polite nod to a police officer but wouldn't seek to have a laugh with them. That does depend on the specific situation though.

Been a while for me, guy at the train station I used 3-4 times just closed shop suddenly around the Grand Prix in June.......Was going to grab a 2 for 1 on Uber Eats last month, half price my arse was still over $20 for takeout. Was a lady in a Viet shop Downtown Montreal who I reviewed on Google in 2019, she was only $3.95, another one close to me was $6........Those days are long gone with the pandemic inflation. Was good while it lasted.....but what I learned too is NOT every Viet soup place does the sandwich, they are fairly rare actually
If it was really good, I might stretch to $10 CAD for a sandwich, am pretty sure it would cost that if not more in the UK
Price isn't the greateast indicator with a Bahn Mi as they can put some really poor quality meat in them.
The owner of the shop in Hua Hin where I had mine, was South Vietnamese. She insisted they only used decent chicken and meats in their sandwiches. So I paid roughly $6 CAD, or £3.60 GBP. Very decent price for a high quality sandwich.
They were serving Beer Lao IPA too so extra bonus points😀 I'll return for sure and work my way through the menu.

Exactly the same with Chang for me. Two in a night and wake up with a rotten headache.
