    Greetz from the USA.

I'm a pretty experienced hand on the Pattaya scene, first visit was a shade under 25 years ago.  I've lived there on and off, well-known customer at the two Tahitian Queen bars.  Was a partner in a bar in Soi Diamond, managed a few others.  Been around the country, some places I still need to get to.  Know my way around pretty well.

Long-time poster on the Pattaya boards, starting with the old and sadly forgotten Misty's board.  In at the ground floor on the Secrets board and was at the several opening parties.  Long time poster and former mod on Pattaya-Live.  Also have a name on Addicts and Talk (is that still around?).  Been off all the boards for several years.

Many will know me from my old board name, a combination of an American rocker's name and something Thai chicks love to eat.  I've decided to make a clean break from that board name, and to start fresh.  If you've guessed who I am, you will know why, and I ask that we leave that board name and all its associated baggage in the past.

I'm looking for a stress-free place I can come to chat with friends old and new about Thailand and anything else I know a little something about.  EXCEPT POLITICS.  I get enough of that elsewhere on the internet, and it will not advance the purpose of me signing up here.

I'm looking forward to getting back in touch with folks who know me, and making some new friends.  So, without further ado...

    See ya on the board!

Dear Judge Kavanaugh a very warm welcome to the board. I know you like your beer so ............. hey great to have you on here Raymondo.

Learning Thai is a hobby of mine. I have spent the last 15 years learning as much as I can own my own and through Thai Language.com, videos, etc. I know about 2000+ words. Now that I have built up my vocabulary, my work in progress for the past couple of years is to migrate to the usage of more sentences using my vocabulary. I understand about 30-40% of the conversations between Thais (more than I can speak). It's especially fun to eaves drop in bars, baht buses, etc. when they are talking. But when I go upcountry in Isaan, it all goes out the window. But, I am starting to learn a few Isaan Lao words and phrases.

I am a far cry from fluent with Thai. The two farangs that have impressed me with their fluency are BM Nampla and Sinclair. Mr. Egg (Phil) is pretty damn good as well.  Sinclair is a linguist and speaks 6 languages fluently. He can even hold his own with Issan Lao.

My favorite Thai phrase is "ja baa raaw?" (Are you out of your mind/crazy) which always turns heads and gets a laugh outta the Thais.

My favorite Isaan Lao phrase is "saep lai lai" (Very delicious!) That turns some heads as well.

I am not stopping this quest until I am fluent.

I find Isaan Lao far easier to understand these days. They speak slower and use fewer words. Steels is very good as is Sinclair.

When I first met Khun Egg in X-Zone I gave him the top tip to speak better Thai.....  he needs to sound like a poof. he's thanked me ever since.

Steels if you really want to turn even more heads try "saep lai nua lai" (delicious really delicious) it's an Isaan play on words .....

or saep ee-lee           another good one and very Isaan.

My favourite expression in Thai is still the one I learned 10/15 years ago great to speak with the Mrs or mia noi"

"Thuk sing thuk yang phom tham phua khun"  ......... (meaning    everything I  do i do it for you .....) cue a song.

Makes them go weak at the knees 😃😍

Thai can now go and get fucked.

They have now cancelled a lot of flights from October this year. My city has gone from daily flights to now 4 a week. Both my return flights flights to Thailand in January and February have been cancelled. I have heard nothing about this from Thai Air or my booking agent. I also have a flight to Udon Thani that I now cannot connect with.

They done the same last year mate and I swerved it by a couple of days. Cancelled shed loads with little warning.

  8. The hottest go to bar off Walking Street ....... he plays too much crap AC/DC music but a great bar any time of the afternoon or night.

If you like Tequila he does all sorts ....... and his chef does a lovely Cornish Pasty .......the young ladies are very friendly too. ❤️
