As i'm no wine expert i just like what i like irrespective and i was a regular Mont Clair red box wine drinker until the Thais in their wisdom increased the price to 300bht per litre, up from 150bht.
They can shove it..........
Nice to see you here Pumpuy !

I love Wine from Bordeaux and Burgund but hardly ever buy it, because its too damn expensive. Most of the time I stick to Tempranillo (Rioja) from Spain, i think you get nearly equal quality for less money. Thats for red wine. White wine I dont drink at all.
Agreed.
I drink dry white wine with seafood usually.
Muscadet or Entre Deux Mers
And of course.a sweeter white wine with foie gras !

The prices there are even worse than Thailand? Damn!
That said. I have to get to Indonesia within the next year. I’ve got your posts saved and plan on reading them soon.
If you come to Bali, let me know !

Used to drink wine every evening at dinner at home in BKK.
Of course only French stuff. But considering the prices here in Indo, I gave up on that except for special circumstances....
The local Rosé I have here sometimes at lunch, I dont count it as a wine !

Met a few friends yesterday in my Wanchai regular.
Good time was had, the Miss even reverted to Tequila....
One thing it confirmed to me is that I made the right choice to leave and retire ! Bali is maybe not paradise but sure much closer to it than HKG !

My wife is terrible for that. No matter that all doors and windows are open and the extractor is on full, the house is rendered uninhabitable for hours just so she can have her roasted 🌶
🤬
None of those in the Bali house. Same as fried fish...no way.
But in the jungle kitchen....well thats outside my juridiction !

Arrived in the hotel in HKG. Simple IBIS thing, minimal room.
Went 30 min in the streets nearby to buy a local SIM, a bottle of whisky and some coke, and that was enough for them bloody Chinese to be on my nerves.
Hell, how did I manage 8 years here ? Bali is paradise compared to this.
No Wanchai this evening, need to have a clear head tmrw morning to sort out my stuff here.
Ok, having a few drinks in the room. The Miss is out shopping...she has spend nearly 15 y here, speeks the language, and obviously adapt much easier than this old frog !

Wake up time, at 07.00 am off to the airport.
We are doing a 5 day trip to HKG to collect some stuff I still have over there. And of course to meet some mates in Wanchai !
Any Wine drinkers here? What are you drinking?
