  1. Has anyone taken the bus from Swampy to Patts lately ?

---- I have taken Bell bus, but it appears the schedule departs from the airport every 2 hours. Unfortunately my flight arrives just after the bus leaves.  I just wanted to check if anyone has used it lately and had any issues with it...

Bus from Ekami to Patts - Many times in the past I have taken this after connecting off the BTS, good and cheap alternative. I was wondering if anyone has taken this lately. If the departure schedule is the same - they used to depart every 30 minutes.

Always made me laugh at work when one of my staff gave their excuses for taking a day off.  The number of times I was told the staff member had flu was amazing but of course I told them it was either a sniffle or a 24 hour bug.  No way could a person with real flu make it back into work after 24 hours, in fact I always said that if you really had the flu then a £10 note on the floor would still be too much for you to be interested in, you just feel like death and no incentives are likely to see you interested.

Had it twice in my life and all I wanted to do was get to sleep so the banging headache would go away. I felt beyond crap and sleep was difficult.

yep.... feels like you've been run over by a truck..... and you have to lay there on the pavement for a week.

Probably has killed off more people than all the wars in history combined.

Don't know why you would get flamed for doing something that the majority of us are doing.

Very little issue for nearly anybody of a certain age as vaccinations were just part of growing up.  The rise of those against vaccinations seemed to start with the advent of social media and, in particular, the younger generations.

Interesting article in a dodgy publication lol

Yep...I've had them all. Hep vaccinations are big ones. Any one who even thinks about fucking strange should get one. I got them for the job, but a little side benefit for me over here. yuk yuk

I've never had a bad reaction to a vaccination other than maybe a sore arm once or twice.

I personally think any anti-vaccination person has a few screws loose.

I am probably going to get flamed for this, but...I believe in Science, more over I believe in my Primary Care Physician more then anything else.

This year in July I have had the Shingles Shot ( Shingrix) the FLUZONE shot in October ( she is cool, supposed to wait until you are 65 for for this, but at 63 she said no problem.) Wifey had the regular flu shot.

I have an appt Dec 10th for the Pneumococcal Pneumonia shot.

Count me in for the Covid vaccine too...

I have been "poked" this year more then the Kardashian Sisters have f%#%^& black guys LOL!

Yep... got the shingles shot a couple years back. I don't even recall there being an age condition when I got it. Something that's probably come out since back then. Maybe demand was higher than they initially expected. I don't know.

I jumped on that as soon as I heard it was approved. Last fucking thing I want is shingles. Nasty nasty stuff.

    Smart move Yes, indeed.

The couple gaming shops in the next village over in the deep South are always standing room only .. even here in BKK there are a couple really big gaming shops up around the corner from my house that are also always standing room only .... day and night

Personally, I have never been into playing games on a computer ...

I am of the thought that if it keeps the young guys off the streets, out of trouble, not getting drunk and no drugs  ... then I am all for it .... once the "streets" get their "hooks" into you it becomes a little hard to escape .... and nothing but trouble

It provides an innocent outlet for them .... gives them a chance to escape the daily trials and tribulations .... which can be overbearing on the young ...

Good points Code, but like anything else in moderation.

Many of these kinds are addicted beyond belief.

I suppose though if someone has addictive tendencies they could be attracted to anything. Better a game than a needle I reckon.

Part of the trouble is gaming is very visual. Many grow up and then later become addicted to the gambling games - either on line or in the casinos and truck stops. IMO gambling is the worst form of addiction there is and the most long term. Also has the greatest difficulty to beat, and long run can take everything from an individual, and their communities.

I'll never forget a missing persons case I once worked. The guy was a hardcore gamer. Never saw anything like it before or since then, and this was over 20 years ago.

Went into the guys apartment. There was a small table with a computer on it, and a chair. Absolutely nothing else in the place except empty pizza boxes and empty 2 liter bottles of Pepsi- scattered all over the place. He had been there for weeks. But he was gone.

Few days later they found him in another county. Dead

I am hoping to get it in January/February depending on how it rolls out. If its going to front line workers first, then I reckon they are fairly confident that it will be safe. I can't see the virus just dying out on its own for a while. But if the vaccine cuts down the numbers, perhaps by next year, there will be more successful treatments for those who develop extreme symptoms and secondary illnesses.

Desperate times need desperate measures and anything that can replace constant lockdowns and isolation will surely be better.

No doubt, the vaccine/s will not be 100 effective, even 70% will make ba huge difference locally and globally.

I can't see any vaccine being made compulsory, although I think that some jobs will or may depend upon being vaccinated.

But generally, it's a choice. I am not going to knock those who don't want it. Just as I don't want others to knock me for choosing to have the vaccine.

If I were in my 30s or 40s and healthy, then I would possibly be thinking differently to how I think now

Good post...  but as I was just saying on another thread about the flu shot.... I don't know how old i was 20's or early 30's I think when I had the real flu.  f**k me, I never want that again. I've never missed a poke in the arm since then.

For sure will get this ASAP

  8. Are you sure it's dead.... some plants hibernate.

As mentioned something to spread like that is probably some kind of fungus or root disease. Plants in the tropics have to be very hardy, because of the constant insect onslaught. Non native species can't  cope as well.

Salt water or oil water run off can decimate plants quickly also.

I'm lucky I've never had the flu , just a bad cold now and then ..

my first time having the jab , but with everything else going on , thought I would follow the recommendations to have it , also it was free  👍

Very wise thing to do.    For someone who was unfortunate enough to get covid and then get the flu they wouldn't stand much of a chance IMO.

Think the $17000 is old news, believe they dropped that idea.

Vaccination will be the way to go, everybody believes it will be the main way that countries may open up tourism at some stage. Even if other countries get vaccinations first it might depend more on when Thais get vaccinated to allow a certain normality to return.

Last big article I read confirmed that they won't really open up until a large percentage of the Thai's are vaccinated and most likely would require those entering to have proof of one as well. The statements were pretty strong suggesting that this would not likely be positioned until late 2021 or early 2022.

    😨

Just been for a flu jab .... 🙂

Got mine last week. No negative reaction, not even slight soreness.

    A must do every year.

I get a kick out of people who say they never get them.

If they ever had the real flu they would......  55555

Sheer misery for a week to 10 days. Not just runny nose, sneezing and coughing. Hardcore body aches that never go away and nothing can relieve the pain. Absolute awful thing. Just knocks the shit out of you.

Any weapon is only good as the brain behind it. And, most importantly, if you aren't careful they can be taken and used against you.

Most of my oils and spices are Tesco's own, I can't tell any difference to any other.

I once had a visit to the Weatabix factory, when we were shown around the production line they were changing over the packaging to an own brand, I asked how long the changeover would take due to the recipee change. He said just the packaging and we will be away again. I asked again if they ran a different recipee and he said ''what do you think?''
