Considering the name of the thread is, "Shitfeasts Secrets  and other forums,"  and was started by a board Admin, it seems this would be the right place to discuss such matters.  The shitfests; flame wars;  posts by the conmen and frauds who tried to twist the boards to their own purposes;, the guys who used many handles; etc., are all part of the Pattaya board experience.  No harm in discussing the less saluatory side of punter boards, although the shitfests also contained some of the funniest posts.

I think of it this way:  "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."  By recalling the worst of the old boards, we can avoid such posts in the future.

Amazing how much stuff I've remember over the years, and forgotten....

If one day you do, make sure to include the Perigord region. Famous for food, relaxed village life, very appreciated by British retirees.

East of France, Strasbourg region very nice also, but completely different.

Paris is more difficult as it is a bit of a tourist trap, and with your American accent.... 😁😁😁

    Oui oui !!!

    Hi Glasseye,

In France we have the standard "soupe de poissons" which is a rather thick texture soup, but with no real pieces of fish in it. Served with bread, gruyere and "rouille" paste. I'll google it for you later, as I am not sure how to translate this.

We have also "bouillabaisse" which is a speciality of Marseille (big city on the Med), it is much more liquid and has pieces of several types of fish "floating" in it.

You'll sure find recipes for both on Youtube and Google.

    Bon appetit !

I'm sure I would enjoy both. As long as it isn't cold....lol.

I would love to do a foodie tour of France some day.

Dinner at the regular French place.

    Specials of the day :

    IMG-20191015-WA0008-768x1365.jpg

As usual Rillettes as starter for each of us.

    20191015_184124-1024x768.jpg

Mahi-Mahi fish in "Papillotte style" for the Miss. She was not really satisfied with it as the fish was not burned, and over fried as they are used to, but gently steamed :

Soupe de poissons for me, a French classic.

    Dessert chocolate mousse for me

And crème brulée for the Miss

    20191015_192349-768x1024.jpg

With a 250 cc wine and an ice tea all in 450 k IDR (1,000 b)

In fact, its a bit too much food, next time 2 dishes each only. Stomach overloaded now, specially as wine doesn't help for the digestion.

    Now that looks good.

May I ask.....(without getting my head bitten off, lol). What is the soup made with ? It looks similar to a creamed pea soup.

Oh I see...  I went back and saw on the menu some kind of fish soup. I'm learning.   5555

Would still like to learn more about it. Sure looks good.

Remember my post about Tequila Sunrise in Jomtein?

It never re-opened He sold it and new owner looking to sell.

I warned people what the kitchen was like. The cheap Charlie brigade loved it and He managed to pump and dump it by selling give away food.

I hope the people who ate there every day are not feeling queasy!

And this wasn't Thais that did this. The English owner did all the cooking.

I always figured this was the ultimate monger song. Brilliant musicianship on this one from the lads in Supertramp.

Plus my favorite song from them.

Good one Smoothie. And good band also.

Never listened to the lyrics like that.... spot on.

For anyone interested, one of the best musical documentaries I've ever watched was "Beware of Mr. Baker", from 2012. It is a fascinating look at his growing up years and how his dad went off to fight in WWII and sadly never came home and the effects it had on him later on.

Clapton is interviewed here and at one point when asked how Baker compared to John Bonham and Keith Moon, he immediately dismisses it and says with Baker, there was basically no one who could touch him.

It's on youtube and it is one hour and 32 minutes of tremendous stories, anecdotes, poignant moments and the harsh truth about what a very crude man he could be, even to his own family.

I just watched it again and it's well worth a look.

Thanks. I'll look forward to watching that.
