Thought he was a bit quirky but I liked "some" of his platform . I voted for Clinton instead in 92 and 96. Hence George H.W. Bush and Bob Dole on the other side. :default_bad:

    RIP Ross

Same, but usually go Dem - especially recently.

I only had a chat with him once over the years. After 2 minutes in I went through the effort to walk away. From that time on, I went through the effort of avoiding him when there. If I want to talk to a used car salesmen, I can do it at home. I really liked Secrets, but whenever I headed down there with friends, we would not call it Secrets. We called it, "Let's go down and see Larry."  or "Let's go down and see Phil."

    lol.

Yes... Talking with Ben was a bit odd. Almost like I was talking to a wall.

    it waPost of distinction.

Agree menu always way too large and poor young James who I loved to death when he took over with his sea bass ceviche. Oy vey ........ no chance.

Jambo struggles to spell haddock let alone ceviche. It's raw fish young man ..........

Them 100 baht bar snacks awesome move as were the 100 Baht vouchers. For me Secrets died many deaths ..........

letting the bitch from Detroit go and running down daytime dancers etc ....... still think it should be a gold mine ......... as it was back in the day!!

But maybe the Western tourists are gone forever  so ...... Bangra Beat and Chinese House Mafia music, Gingham Style  and naked women .......... make a fortune in no time.

I love ceviche. But would only eat it at a costal place where the fish just came off the boat.

The first time I had it was at a small joint on the Costa Rican coast. The fish had just come in from a local fisherman. It was out of this world good.

  4. The only problem I had with H.K. when I visited (only 5 days) was in some areas the wide spread odor of dog piss.

Otherwise I loved the place. But I have never lived there long enough to get a good assessment for if I could handle it long term.

I know my shower drain has a slow leak to the unit underneath me they've got to pull up six of the ceramic tiles replace the drain flange and retile the six tiles they were supposed to do it today but they stopped by to tell me they would be here at 9 in the morning tomorrow. Happy they gave me some advance notice

I guess better than the toilet drain leaking.

I remember one year at Memorial Stadium (Ill. v. Michigan), I think it was 1986. Sell out packed wall to wall, cold as f**k.

The upper deck pipes busted.... pouring piss water all over the folks below. Not a pleasant day.

It’s a beautiful place. You would love it. Only wish I had visited earlier in my life!

Yep. I keep putting it off. Always on the top of the list but my monger instincts take over and I go elsewhere (usually).

I have heard that there is some decent girl action over there, but I have never talked to someone "in the know"

I still do a bit of walking but now most of the exercise comes from a pedal machine that I bought from Lazada I really love this thing I use it between 1 and 3 hours every day I get more exercise than I would walking. If it's raining outside it doesn't stop me from getting my exercise and I put a movie on or watch a baseball game and 30 or 40 minutes or an hour ago by and it's like you haven't even been exercising. I recommend these things highly

Yes. They are also good because you can control the conditions you are in. And most important avoid the extreme heat, dogs and potentially deadly traffic. And if you have a sudden need to shit the toilet is near by.

Also.... when they are not in use make coat clothes hangers.

Tried to made pancakes today. Or how something simple becomes a pain...

milk, flour, eggs, butter, salt, sugar...  Showed the Miss on Youtube how it is done, just for her information, and I start mixing my ingredients.

Of course "no, not like this, blablabla.... Now the hair on my arms starts to turn itchy. How the hell you know how to do, you never eaten this..."

Anyway I go my way.  Semi success.  Looks ok, taste ok, but not special.

Now she takes a small bowl of my mix, adds mashed banana (way too much of it), in the pan...her first one is ok. Way too sweet for me, but hey...

Second one, she decides its not sweet enough, so more banana... Needless to say the result in the pan looks more like scrambled eggs than a pancake !  Start eating it (face....) but after 2 spoons "I think better throw in the garbage..." Face has its limits...Old frog big smile !

Ok, why the orange colour ? Because I bought something, written in Indonesian, that I thought was to give on orange / mandarine taste. Turned out it is a colorant... Too late, its in the mix already ! Her turn to smile .... Next time I'll to find vanilla.

When I am eating MY last pancake she ask to taste "Mmmm taste nice like that" .....Grrrrr.... been trying to explain since 1 hour this is the way to do ....

Sorry for the lack of Grand Marnier or cognac, but $$$$$

    I'm sure you'll love this.....

On the rare occasion I make pancakes I get one of those little yellow bottles. Fill it up with water, shake and pour. Throw out the bottle and eat the pancakes with some real maple syrup. They are as good as the ones Mom used to make from scratch. And no mess.

Yeah yeah I know Seppo laziness, etc. But I don't eat them often. If I bought pancake mix, etc. it would go to waste. The clean up with this is so easy, it's cheap and the quality (IMO) is good.

I think the problem goes back a little further than the Scooters merger. It was pretty obvious that most the regulars and locals had already stopped going into Secrets 1 to 2 years before. The reasons vary from BM to BM but there was no doubt that people were losing interest in Secrets as a bar of choice. It went from not being able to get a seat in the intire house to being amazed if there were 3 customers in the whole place. I think it safe to say that politics and the changing of the guard was its downfall. It would take a real promoter / salesman to get the numbers back up.

Many of the familiar faces from 5 to 10 years ago are no longer around and their seats were never filled by new blood. Sad to see a once great bar die a death of empathy but the magic just isn't there anymore.

I only know of one guy that could do that. But I don't think he's interested. Can't blame him.

The large rubbish bins along Beach Road have been removed and, instead, wheely bins placed every few yards.

It is just the two colours, so it's a reasonable guess that one is for waste to be recycled, and the other for everything else.

    Q. Which is which?

    2019-07-05 20.37.34.jpg

Hopefully they'll disinfect them once in a while. Those green bins stank like hell and you could smell them several feet away. Could knock a buzzard off a shit wagon.

Not really surprised but I am not a lover of the Windmill, don't like it's offering, how small it is in terms of trying to squeeze into a seat and the fact that, for me, the majority of the girls look a little young and fresh for my liking.

I know the majority of guys like girls naked but I love nothing more than girls in bikinis or coyote girls, I know I am probably alone in that view.

I never really cared for the place. I guess I got spoiled with Babydolls.

Also, that last time I was in there the placed smelled nasty and the AC worked like shit (But I think they've fixed that).

    Good old liver and onions.

    DSCN0177.JPG

Going to have to do that soon.

Bought some liver a few weeks back. Thawed it, but left it too long so it never got cooked. I haven't had it in years.

BTW - If you like liver chicken livers can be real good. Fired up with some garlic and butter, some hummus on the side with some pita. Lovely
