wont make any difference here.  once u are confirmed as having the virus you are shipped to the provincial centre, thats free but not pqarticuarly modelled on the hilton/  every province has one n ow..  run along govt. hosptial lines but no visitors

lol course it does !!!  If you're isolated for whatever period who is paying for lost time at work flights home interim hotels the list is endless if you were a tourist in the first place

    Are you 100% sure..

Certainly all the major insurers have an exclusion clause.  I suspect this fact is being very downplayed in general because you can imagine the outbreak of panic for all nationals overseas

Just to be clear though the insurance itself isnt invalid just claims related to Covid-19

    Telegraph article from Tuesday -

What if a pandemic is declared?

If the World Health Organisation (WHO) declares a pandemic, this will not affect your travel insurance.

The ABI confirmed to Telegraph Travel that there were no pandemic clauses used by any of its members. “FCO advice or other restrictions outside of individuals’ control will be the trigger for cancellations,” a spokesperson said.

lol I can absolutely tell you thats totally inaccurate. I immediately contacted my former employer Axa at senior level where I was and all coverage now declined on existing and new policies as per standard exclusion

Yea, but gives an indication of what the UK is going to do.

I'll tell you what they're going to do and have done which is strip shelves of carsie paper. I just been up Aldi before the sprogs mothers return from school runs and theres bugger all

I'm not stock piling lol I need some shithouse paper. Worse case scenarion the yellow pages will be utilised

    What exactly does that mean?

All travel policies are void? (That would be a nice little earner for the insurance companies unless they are going to give refunds.) You are not covered by Coronavirus if you catch it? You are not covered for anything that comes about as a result of Coronavirus? Something else?

Would mean policies still valid but anything connected to a claim involving Covid would be declined

  6. Australias insurers and re insurers have made their statement on Corona

"Coronavirus COVID-19 is being called a pandemic by insurers, making travel insurance policies void"

Am expecting that to become worldwide as its clearly got the potential to completely wipe out insurers......still say the chance of any of us catching it is very tiny but that insurance would now not cover subsequent disruption from Corona and thats a major issue unless pockets are deep

You can't just leave hundreds of thousands of people stranded all around the world me thinks! Not to mention the impact of not being able to import or export supplies like medical equipment and other important stuff that we take for granted day to day.

My original post could have been better. All leisure travel I was implying. People would be given a deadline I suppose ??

The airlines have made it clear already that they're only continuing to fly right now because of slot preservation. EU are already reviewing that this coming Monday to see if it can be waived for all airlines

  8. Out of interest as UK passports were mentioned my lad renewed his online in March last year via the App on smartphone, It took him longer to input the 16 digit card number and expiry date for payment that the rest of the application. Literally can do it in seconds now (this is renewals I would stress not new applications in entirety)

  9. For the life of me I cant remember the name of the joint at the start of Soi Post Office (someone jump in) but the Girls were one of the original no knickers brigade. Used to have a little skirt wrapped around when drinking with the blokes afternoon joint more than evening place

Am talking around 1995 and this girl in their called Guy really liked me for whatever reason and we used to come out of TQ1 after a session and pop in her bar (it was run by big bloke called Peter...edited Las Vegas ?)....anyway over the course of couple years I give her a portion quite a few times and lost count how many times she was draped over me bollacky in the bar both of us pissed.....after couple years she's gone lol gone in one day "no guy left" no work

Fast forward 12 years and I'm attending a wedding reception lol.....theres this girl staring at me. Have hardly changed in 30 years so shes in no doubt, got her hand over her mouth and a look of utter anguish on her face lol

I was taken aback because like most Thais they hardly age and she must have only been 35 anyway at this time anyway......10 minutes later with me grinning to all and sundry (but obviously saying nothing) shes come hurtling over unbelievably  still remembering my name and begging me to say nothing (obviously I wouldnt)

I sat for 2 hours at that reception in London with a grin all over my face and till this day 13 years later still no one knows why lol thinking that flange was over me multiple times 😂

  10. Its not the deaths or infections that will do any of us harm probably chances of any of us getting it is what 0.0001% but the real problem is the disruption off the back of it....when the CEO of Emirates ponders shutting down the entire airline until the problem subsides thats the real issues

Cathay Pacific has shut down 75% of all services. Easy jet and Ryan air following suit.

  11. Just spoke to receptionist whom I'm great friends with at the Sabai Group and they're laying off staff and shes well senior as well.....holiday with no pay. Absolutely savage  because we're starting to see the period where the non bookers would normally have been in resort but instead are holding off. Stand on me I wouldnt book now either.

Other night think it was Sunday just seven rooms occupied

If this is not a case of blatant currency manipulation I don't know what is....

Nope....with $225 Billion of foreign currency reserves (which I think now places them 11th in the world) they can buy their own currency on international markets virtually indefinately to keep it at a level they desire.

Its not manipulation per se or fraud or anything inbetween

    Nope...

Having HK PR, I use my HK ID card at HK immigration in/out... There is no trace in my psp.

The only trace is my ticket, and of course it would not be a direct flight...

Fair play. Reason I said that was yesterday as per normal E gate rejected passport in London. Over to manual check fella says where you been and I say Bangkok via Muscat....one word from him "and".....Phillipines I add to which he smiles and hands passport back lol

  14. I was absolutely staggered this morning at T4 that there was absolutely no screening thermal scanners or anything at Heathrow.....I was expecting E gates off and everyone spoken face to face to at immigration.

Not a single thing.....not even sort of a lane saying this way if you've been XYZ countries etc

Out of interest Oman was about 40% full Bangkok Muscat but 99% full Muscat Heathrow (I saw just one empty seat in economy)
