  1. It's been my biggest contrast ever when returning home.

Usually I return to mid double temps in March, this year I have returned in late April to single figures and rain.

    It really is f***d up.

Thailand is the hottest I have known it and here the wettest and coldest I can ever remember in April.

It's now midday and only 6 degrees with a real feel of minus 2. FFS.

Tried to avoid whiskey as much as possible as it made me very aggressive for some reason.

I am bad enough anyway lol.

I worked with a guy who couldn't drink the stuff, turned him very quickly and all he wanted to do was fight everyone.

Was never that way on anything else!

  3. I am a lover of neat spirits and often drink a double shot with one ice cube to smooth off the taste when it melts a touch.

Generally not a big fan of whisky, but am quite partial to Jamasans Irish Whiskey and a decent malt, if it is not too peaty.

I love a good rum and Thailand provides me with that fix in the shape of Sangsom, which is amazingly cheap for a decent tasting rum!

  4. My last 5 months in Thailand have been the hottest I have ever experienced there. Even the period through New Year into January was way hotter than normal and the last month was real feel over 40 nearly every day!

  5. Haven't eaten from this Indian for many years because it went down hill fast.

My mate said it was back to it's former years, so I decided to give them another go.

Very watery curry, but tasted ok.

    Won't rush back.

Chicken vindaloo, chicken tikka Masala, saag aloo, tarka daal and garlic naam.

    Ahhh lol I've confused myself:

Mrs purchased 2 apple Air tags, one for my Dad's keys and one for her own purse. she has an iphone, I have an android so the apple airtags can only be detected by her phone, but my Android and Galaxy watch will notify when there's an unidentified airtag nearby for any length of time, be it apple or samsung, for personal security I guess.

    Got ya.

tech is incredible. I've just purchased a Galaxy smart watch from Duty free.

I can call someone on the other side of the world and talk to them with a watch on my wrist. It measures all my heart rate etc and even tells me the quality of the sleep I had last night.

It also tracks and tells me when there's an unidentified Air tag near to me with an alert to my phone, which I find incredible as air tags are apple and my phone's an android.

Who knows what it'll be like in 5 years time.

Yep, but my Mrs has an iphone. I've had to attach an airtag to my Dad's keys as he kept losing them!.

Yes, if you want your sleep pattern measured etc. Not uncomfortable, and I usually wear a watch in bed anyway.

You done a good job of confusing the hell out of me!

Nowt but lashings of real butter, with memories of Rationing still on everybody's minds .... Something that you had to be there to appreciate!

Can't beat thick cut bread for toast, soaked in real butter.

All of my shirts this last trip were Isocool, except for a couple. It was remarkable how good they were and the odd days when my laundry was being done and I wore the ordinary T shirts that I have been wearing for ever, it was very noticeable how much more I sweated and felt hotter in them.

I just checked and the Mountain Warehouse have them in my size, reduced to £9.99.

Just ordered another 7 in various colours.

Won't take long before your freezer is restocked. Looking forward to an update on that.

    Very nice mate !

I  never used to worry about how long food stuff is kept in the freezer in the past, because I never really bulk bought stuff and with being in the uk full time, the food got rotated naturally.

Since being retired and travelling a great deal more, I have been a bit more conscious of it. They used to recommend a 3 month keep time. No idea why only 3 months, because I have eaten food that has been frozen for years and never had a problem.

With me being away for the past 5 months, it makes sense to eat up all of my remaining food and Start a fresh, whether I need to or not.

I will add that having a freezer full of old food when covid hit was a big bonus. LOL.
