They were indeed. Kevin Ayers as well on line up. Can't remember the other bands.

It was a time when I was trying to be the man and I smoked a few St Moritz menthol cigarettes, that combined with crisps, bananas, sandwiches and coca cola, made me as sick as a dog. It required a trip to the toilets well away from the concert venue, and by the time I got back an area was being kept well away from by those watching, I suppose vomit isn't something people want to be near to.

I do remember people shouting 'Wally' a lot, may be that was directed at me. A lot of cans of fizz or beer were being thrown, we were odd in the 70s.

I remember when Edgar Broughton were doing Out Demons Out everyone was chanting Out Skinheads out.

I worked night shifts for seven months last year and 4.5 months the year before and don't think I will do it again this year - or if I do, only for a couple of months. I was doing 12 hrs a night for four nights, then getting four days off, or so it looks on the calendar but that is deceiving because the first day off you are recovering from the past four nights, and the last day off you can't get up to much because you have to work that night. It also got me into trouble with taxes, which I will be late filing as I'll miss the deadline of April 30 because I don't go home until mid-May, so be it. Finally, last summer was the best summer at home we've seen for years and here I was sleeping (when lucky) through the best parts of it.

In the Isle of Man in 1997 I did 2 x 12hr days followed by 2 x 12hr nights  then supposedly 4 off for 6 months.

That shift pattern is quite common on the flight line & popular as when the aircraft are serviceable for the morning flights you can get your head down.Trouble was I was doing scheduled maintenance in the hangar so no such let up.

Fucking hated it but it was my first job as a licenced engineer & I didn't want to upset anyone.I should've gone sick with stress.

Only saw them once in the early 90's at the Silver Clef awards, Knebworth and were they good. I was a regular at The Brook Southampton which was a great smallish live music venue and many tribute bands appeared there, my favs were The Hamsters, great TB who did loads of Jimi Hendrix songs.

I saw Focus there a few years ago, also Roger Chapman,Family lead singer.Good venue.

Also saw The Hamsters at the Horns,Watford, another good music venue but closed at the moment, supposed to be re-opening soon.

After a nightshift with another nightshift to follow.

That's when I went off with stress.

I did a bit of 12hr nightshifts when younger, perpetually knackered I'm sure it shortens ones lifespan.

2004 5/5 rotation in Geneva was the last, after that I refused any job which involved nights.

M'lady has been out on her morning "Faller Patrol" to see what fruits were on the ground and which were ready for picking.

For the first time she picked each type of mango that she grows..

    - Four big trees of the "normal" mango that you get with sticky rice or unripe for the bar girls on their periods!

    - One bush of the "rosy cheeked" round one which I had never seen before moving here.

    - One bush of the "miniature" mango, lovely and sweet but a bit messy to eat ....

My missus brought some Mango's back from our garden for my mum.

    Yep.

She moved out of there around Covid time and freelanced in Boomerang Bar then moved back.

Tried to get a donation from me by saying that her English husband was knocking her around a bit.

That really was a damned good bar back in the days of the Malibu Bar opposite with the stage and shows ....

'Twas there that a very drunken Brit proposed to his girlfriend....33 years later....😂
