i am told fake grass is burning hot in the sun so much so that soccer plaers suffer from it in heat.  hardly good for here??

Perhaps it's just that soccer players are wimps.

All internationals, every top club match and almost every other game of hockey are now played on artificial grass hockey turfs. Innovations in synthetic hockey fields have developed fast pitches, true ball roll, and increased player safety and comfort resulting in a faster, more exciting and skilful game.

Im not a tree hugger at all but i do know that astroturf impacts on the environment in every way.

In production with use of oil base products.

Not at all environmentally friendly when installed

when finished with need to go to landfill.

That may or may not be the case.

At least one manufacturer of synthetic grass in Australia uses recycled PET drink containers as the feed stock. Polyethylene is polyethylene. They also claim that the synthetic grass itself is recyclable.

25 drink bottles make 1 square metre of grass.

And in a dry (and drying) country like Australia perhaps synthetic grass is a better alternative than the squillions of litres of water being "wasted" trying to maintain natural grass.

Personally I have no preference either way having neither natural or synthetic grass. I go along with the Thais. If you can't eat it why grow it.

Let's not forget that grass is a plant aswell and it takes some looking after to make it look good

A nice lawn with flower borders can be a beautiful thing. But prefer the lawn tbh.

Some require more looking after than others.

  4.

    Using Chrome.

    I cleared the browser cache.

    Reloaded page 9.

It took about 20 seconds to load using 3.0 - 3.5% of my 95 Mbps (according to Ookla) link.

Clearing the browser cache again it said it was deleting 42.6 Mbytes of files. Basically what page 9 loaded.

PS. The 95 Mbps is between me and my ISP. What the speed is between me and Thailand-247, I have no idea (probably 3 - 4 Mbps) and wont unless they install an Ookla server on the server.

I also find them annoying, I have 30 mbps, fibre connection but not enough to watch them

Slow to download or slow to play?

30 Mbps is (ball park) 3 MBps.

I haven't checked all of them but a couple of the GIFs I did check are about 2 Mbytes.

There are 17 GIFs on page 9 (posts #201-#225) plus a couple of other images and text. Let's say worst case the page is 50 Mbytes so it should take about 17 seconds to load (at 30 Mbps) if it's the first time you have loaded the page (or you clear your browser cache of all downloaded files all the time).

If you refresh the page then all the GIF images should be there and play immediately.

If they play slow it's your computer.

When I lived there I had a nice collection of orchids hanging on the front porch. None of this mucking around with dirt.

The following is a stock photo but you get the idea.
