It's not in the least bit harsh. The force majeure is a load of bollox and the points deduction is totally justified. Clubs should have have enough working capital to withstand a temporary downtown in revenue.

The fact of the matter is most clubs in the Championship are living way beyond their means and running at a massive financial loss. There needs to be a complete de-leveraging of players salaries and transfer fees..........the current levels are totally unsustainable.

And all other divisions.    SHOULD HAVE DONE IT 25 YEARS AGO. To late now.

  2. Seems very harsh on clubs that are struggling to survive then go into administration. Then the F A put the boot in with a points deduction. With this covid-19 crisis many more clubs will end up in the same situation as wigan, maybe to the extend a whole division of clubs could be lost. Not a good situation at all.

    Simon,

You post with the logic of the average Thai owner. Customers down by 95% increase the price to make up the loss of income.

That is the height of stupidity as the ONLY potential customer for at least the rest of this year is expats and they are not going to pay 160 baht for a beer.

If the gogo owners do not realise this they will not stay open long.

Expats or no expats the only  go go bars which will survive are the owners with a big pot. The rest will be gone & Pattaya will never be the same. For a long time now in Thailand landlords have got greedy bar owners & most of all bar girls, when you've got blokes sending chunks of money every month these girls don't give a shit. But even that will start to change cos some guys won't have it to send. Think there are going to be very hard times ahead in Thailand especially Pattaya IMHO.

Having commenced our night out in Le Pub we decided to do a  bit of a tour round starting at Doll House. On entering we doubled the number of customers which is not really surprising given the increasing number of venues and the static number of expats.

My first overriding impression was surprise as all the girls on the stage were displaying their piss flaps but they did all have a full plastic face mask but just not covering their face.

Having just paid my very reasonable bill at Le Pub I was interested to see what Doll House would charge me for my first ( and last ) Tiger light. The answer was 165 baht which I thought was outrageous considering they had just reopened and have a need to encourage customers. I added masochism to my financial pain through buying the nubile young lady exploring what was under my boxers an equally expensive LD.

We did a couple more gogo's ending up in Ricky's having moved away from Walking Street. The girls are not the greatest but are very touchy/feely but again short sighted pricing structure on the drinks.

Unless the gogo's realise that charging high prices for drinks will lose the expat customers to the bars then they will not be open very long.

I was told that Soi 6 has a profusion of quality young debutants currently. I don't believe it for one minute but I might check it out if I happen to be passing. 😊

    PS

Checked out Soi 6 yesterday which is not normally my manor. It is absolutely rammed with pussy and I do mean rammed. Only a very limited number of potential customers . Reminds me of my first visit to Soi 7 back in 2003 when I thought I had found pussy heaven.☺

Best thing is you speak to the landlords they are paying the rent to & the amount the girls want every month then. These establishments in walking street cost a small fortune to run every month hence the price. They don't care for expats in walking street & never have done.

Looking at my collection which I have had since I was 15, and deciding if they are worth keeping or selling as having a clear out. Do have a turntable but rarely play. But it's a record of my life from teens to thirties. Around 400 so taking up space....Anyone here still play vinyl?

Spotted a few vintage beer stains from parties took me back.

Started buying vinyl again 4 years ago, love it. Now expensive.

I turned one of my obscure albums into a clock for my living room wall. Can anyone guess who it's by?

  8. Most of those walking street venues would loose less money by staying shut but the trouble is one opens the others don't want to miss out. Until tourism starts again there is no business to be had. I remember going to Peppermint ago go when it was at the top of the escalator & there was a sign on the door   SORRY WE ARE FULL PLEASE COME BACK IN 1 HOUR. That is now well & truly a distant memory.

Completely agree, I've seen people say it's for cheap charlies, personally I think the drinks prices are about right for the area and what's on offer.

Now one photo isn't exactly telling the full story, but if it's like that every night, they are in trouble, as are a lot of other bars.

Sad to hear this, I always have a few in there when on holiday as IMO its a great bar. Hope it picks up soon.

You must be joking flights will not be allowed back in for the normal holiday travelers by then for sure. If they some how are and i am wrong still the 14 day lockdown upon arrvial will be in effect 100% not to mention the other requirements that will sure to still be in place.

Won't be much to go back for then cos most will be shut for good. No tourists = no business = no bars & no girls

If the City Fathers were serious about changing the face of Pattaya and increasing the quality tourist now would be a perfect time to chuck out the old and bring in the new.

There is a lot of Pattaya I would never miss but I do expect the perceived normal to sneak back in over the next few months.

Don,t see much changing this side of Christmas & unfortunately that might be to late for some IMO, I hope I,m wrong as I hope to go in the new year but with masks social distancing hand sanitiser to mention a few I doubt I,ll bother.

Your assuming that the Corona bug is on the way out, in which case what you wrote would make sense...

I would guess August? September-November the bars might be open.......BUT BUT with all the flight restrictions and quarantine bull shit I doubt to tourist will be back even if the bars open....And next December-January it will be Covid full lockdown time again....you can bet on this....

So about the soonest I see any hope for the bars will be in late 2021 or 2022 when the tourist can maybe return ......The tourist are NEVER COMING BACK until they get rid of long long list of Covid restrictions.....Its either Tourism or quarantines, not both....

2021 or 2022, If its that long they'll be no bars left to go to & possibly a civil war going on but that is only IMO.
