My Thai wife has a mango farm in ubon, and she has a bumper crop, but the trucks who usually pick them up and deliver them to Bangkok no longer run, so all she can do is load a bunch in the pick up truck and try to sell in the town....
Bummer...

But the UK has categorically stated that "heat or cold" has no effect on the virus, i see it on Skynews everyday.
Up to you who to believe - Local news or world maps showing the number of cases in each country....

Why is Thailand not getting hit hard?
Don't get me wrong, I don't want any country to get hit hard or hit at all if possible! But why?
We were in Thailand most of January, lots of Chinese, then near the end of January, place was heaving with them, out hotel was packed, Chinese New Year. Always lots of travel back and forth from China anyway, and not just Chinese.
Like the disaster in Italy, they're putting it down as started by two infected Chinese tourists.
Yes I know, the Thai figures have to be taken with a large pinch of salt, whether deaths from Covid or infection rates, but even so.
Is there any truth in the 'virus is subdued/killed by heat' rumours?
Is it the amount of facemasks bring worn?
Or why, what's going on?
Think more die in London in a day than in Thailand for the whole duration so far.
If you look at the world wide map of the number of cases in the world, the numbers in the Northern hemisphere look far higher than the numbers from the Southern hemisphere.
Looks to me that heat has a lot to do with the number of cases.

The problem is Dave these companies prefer cheap imported labour. They treat them like dirt, pay them poorly, and threaten to leave them high and dry at the first sign of trouble. Do we have some lazy layabouts in this country? Of course.
All companies try to lover their costs as much as they can - There job is to make profits.

Agree, and of course, the cost of the finished item would increase.

We have a quite a number of shops along our Village high street which create more like an extended market all of whom sell fresh food and several at least bottled beer.
Beer is actually a pretty good store of calories, and the Franks used it for most of their winter calorie needs in the middle ages.

Not necessary.
SEC. 2. No voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure shall be imposed or applied by any State or political subdivision to deny or abridge the right of any citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color.

First, that is a statue, not a constitutional guaranteed right
Second, the law has nothing to do with voter law. It protects unequal treatment of people with different races and colors.
You cannot say that all blacks must have ID's but whites do not need them, but saying that everybody, regardless of race, must have one is ok.

A bit like (in the US) the push to require IDs to vote. From what I understand it's a constitutional right.
From what I remember, the US Constitution says no such thing.

Two different metrics mate.
The first graph is regarding 'months before bankruptcy assuming 100% cut in capacity'.
The second 'days before bankruptcy assuming all forward booking revenue kept'.
Which IMHO, is a fraud!
They took the money in advance as a deposit for future service, and when they cannot deliver the service, they must return the deposit.

Secondly big business will keep any wage increase if any to an absolute minimum as they try to improve their balance sheets and keep the shareholders happy
To me, that is what they should do - It's called "Free enterprise" and generated untold wealth that the world has never seen before.
And of course, workers are free to find a higher paying job.

So at "Popular", my #2 supermarket for bread they used to have the goods unpacked, you picked them and put them in a plastic bag.
Later they replaced the plastic bags by paper bags.
Now they have gone completely backwards and every item is individually wrapped in a plastic bag.....🙈🙈🙄🙄
So where before for 3 items there was 1 bag, now there is 3 .....
I assume you are a rational person, so what is the bitch?
It seems that EVERY item sold not in a can is encased in some form of plastic.

Really appreciate the inputs gentlemen, yeah nice to get out of the city and into the Mountains, we both really like this place. Just beautiful for sure.
@Mrmango Your cabin was in Northshore or Zephyr Cove perhaps? Just a side note, we had to take the snowmobile adventure near "Myers" as the Calif side has a lot more snow then the Nevada side right now. Looking at videos the "Zephyr Cove" snowmobile adventure looked a bit better as you get to stop and get much closer to the lake, but not enough snow yet for them to open.
@forcebwithu Good point, her friends wanted to know, as she got a lot of questions like " Wow, was it cold there"? Hey no kidding huh.
Actually, my cabin was in Homewood on the west shore, about half way between Tahoe City and Emerald Bay, but the winters were brutal there! We did have a private beach and boat buoy in our homeowners area, but sometimes it took 2 weeks to plow the road so you had to hanker down and wait, usually with no internet or landline.
The best snowmobiling was the gold courses and Tahoe City as well as South Shore used to have them and I loved to take my kids there when they were young to do that.
But it had its drawbacks even in the summer - Traffic was so bad on 89 (the road around the lake) that during any weekend, it was impossible to go anywhere as it was bumper to bumper.
