  1. I am by far,  no Maritime expert, but I am wondering  why the tugboats make such limited journeys to steer large vessels out of the port to sea?

Had they remained steering the vessel under the bridge, then even after  ship's  mechanical/electrical  failure,  a crash could have been  avoided.

No doubt, when after the coming months of clean up and salvage, H&S rules will be tightened up considerably.

BOLT These days for pattaya, in the PI I use Grab. Both equally useful, Another plus 1 for Flightradar24 (Although I use Planefinder as it works better on my phone).

And most importantly, a Ladyboy dating app known as "Fister" as well as the "Grindr" app.

    Fixed for yer 😁😁

  3. BOLT for taxi travel in and around Pattaya, Skyscanner app for flights and booking, Agoda app for hotel prices, availability and booking, TT currency app, EVA and Thai Air apps for online checkin, e-ticket, seat booking and  flight info, Flightradar occasional,  LHR arrival/dept app and Bankok Int Airport for arrivals/dept app and most importantly, WhatsApp in and  around Thailand or anywhere, although signal strength can be a bit hit and miss for voice calls at times

  4. I used to get post Pattaya blues up until maybe about 10 years ago.  Now I don't these days. Perhaps because I don't enjoy it like I used to.

But when I did, I used to.plough myself into work and and at the same time carve out my next leave booking and count the days to the next trip.

It reminds me that there was a time before fast food and before silicone enhancements. I wish I had been able to take full advantage of it!

However it does remind me that their landing strips were heavily forested. At least today, many tend to clear the undergrowth 😁😁

As previously said, if you feel the need to change your password, it is easy to do yourself.

I personally hate password change enforcement,  because I then have to remember what I changed it too.

Was my biggest hate in my last job, where due to the security access risk, we had to change it every month on 3 different systems and you can't reuse a previous one.

Yes, it should be a voluntary issue rather than being enforced

@tommy dee, @Stillearly and other admins.

I believe that a significant percentage of the 24x7 BMs are also PA BMs. PA is requiring that their members reset their passwords due to an increase in recent hacks and other security concerns. I believe that I have read that PA and 24x7 are sister brother organizations and there is some overlap with regard to tech support.

I am not advocating to do the password reset process at 24x7, but I wonder if it makes some sense.

    • 24x7 has a smaller user base, who tend not to be the same type of young Turks that make up much of the larger community at PA. Assumption is that young Turks tend to engage in more dangerous internet activities (security wise) that might lead to hacks etc.
    • At the same time 24x7 could be regarded as a prurient interest site that could attract hackers for various reasons, especially since our fraternal organization has obviously been hacked.

I am not advocating one way or the other, just looking for others opinions. I do not want to push for what might be useless work by anyone.

I wasn't aware that Stillearly was Admin here. I would have no objection if he were, but would not like to be last to know😄

I personally don't think there is any reason at present for members to change their passwords. As far as I aware, we have never been hacked.

Whatever PA may decide to is up to them.

Just been to the doctor to be told I have Shingles, not happy. Doc says may last up to 6 weeks. Been suffering from severe pain in right side and right chest. Been feeling wobbly on my feet as well. Started with, what my wife told me were, insect bites on my back. Bloody itchy and causing pain.

After the chest pain and feeling wobbly, I decided to check with doc who confirms shingles.

    Bugger

Decided to have a Wetherspoon brekky and pint of Moorhouse to celebrate lol

Will go home and take it easy for a while.

Get well soon. I have had shingles and the severity of the condition varies. It will go quicker than you expect. NHS are now offering the shingles vaccine to those of a certain age. It's quite a common condition these days although not pleasant

Wheels up Durango tomorrow morning ( March 12th) at 7am for Denver.

Dgo to Denver 2 hours.  Denver to Tokyo 13 hours.  Tokyo to Bangkok 7 hours.  Taxi to Pattaya 1 1/2 hours.

I arrive Bkk just after midnight, gather luggage, out to taxi stand and arrive Pattaya around 2:30 am on. All in all it will be a 30 hour travel day.  Its a brutal day but worth every minute. I thinks its been 3 years since I last strolled down Walking Street

Have fun and a safe journey
