It's Pattaya. Nobody wants an old Krone.

Whilst taking the airport bus recently this place was constantly being advertised on the TV. Does anyone know anything about it. I have tried Google but nothing comes up.

One last observation. Getting to and from the airport. Sometimes they will use the meter and sometimes not. Getting away from the airport is tricky. It is roughly 140000 dong to the beach hotels by meter. This time the first guy wanted 700000 dong. After a bit of fucking around I shared a taxi with another guy for 200000 dong. My advice is book with your hotel. Or walk to the Domestic terminal where they are not so greedy, or book a Grab. Getting to the airport is easy. Last trip the reception booked me a Grab for 61000 dong. This time I walked out and found a taxi who put his meter on first time. 120000 dong. I am now in Nha Trang until Friday. Airport bus, 65000 dong. Took about an hour.

Also a standard 330ml bottle of Huda, a very drinkable local beer is only 30000 Dong at the Chevy sports bar and bistro.

Party time.

There was a bit going on down the beach yesterday afternoon. The viets like there corporate bonding sessions.

If you're not keen on risking your life in the traffic. An underpass.

I am only going into this much detail to let you know what's around. Anyway now it's Saturday I went back to the Chevy for lunch and a bit of sport. The Aussie rules and Rugby union was on. I had a very nice, and filling fish and chips for 185000 Dong.

As they were only showing the Rugby league I then headed 50 metres along the street to the Chevy sports bar and had a 500ml Huda draught for 55000 Dong whilst watching the Aussie rules.

After leaving there and staying at the An Thoung end of the beach I went to the Shamrock bar in search of food and sports. I had a chicken Parma, 175000 Dong and a 330ml bottle of Larue for 45000 Dong.

I am going there for a few 55000 dong 500ml beers. A rule of thumb is one baht equals 700 dong.

If you like your sports the only bars that show sports are in the An Thoung area. But this is nothing like Pattaya.

The beach area is standard deck chair concessions but with amenities.

This area has cheaper hotels. More bars etc. The beach area is more lively.

The southern area is the An Thoung area.

It's has less western tourists but is still a nice area to stay. I have stayed there a few times.

Ok. When I stay in Danang I stay by the beach. It is a long beach but as a tourist there is a 2km stretch which is where most people stay. The northern end is centered around Ha Bong street.

Yes there was. Unfortunately post Covid it has changed. The 2 main routes from the beach area don't run anymore.

Well I am back in Danang and it's just as hot as Pattaya was. At 7am it was 31 feels like 37 degrees. Still,Good beach weather.

I will be returning to Pattaya from Vietnam on the 2nd of June. And am wondering if the 3rd will be a bar closure day for Visakha Bucha day. Any thoughts or is it to early to speculate.
