  1. Don't mind them if it's done properly.

    Like anything.

I draw the line at those fucking ridiculous lips though though that's more of a western thing.

Following on a bit, my biggest fashion disaster was in the 90's when I went out one night with a suede waistcoat, black shirt and blue jeans and a pair of cuban heels.

I looked a right c**t. Even my mates laughed at me and I ended up getting a taxi home to get changed! 🤣

It was my fault, I wanted a change of "look" and decided upon the worst possible combo.

Too many to choose from for.me..

Maybe a pair of Joe.Bloggs jeans around 88 big horrible over baggy things. The factory was on Bury New Rd near Strangeways in Manchester used to go there loads for different bits back then.

Edit: maybe check pants in the mid 90s with a pressed grandad shirt

Basically I pretty much buy alll my sports clothes from Castore online app. Only been around since 2016, and that was started by two young brothers along with Andy Murray who is a shareholder.

Started buying from them around 2017, and the only high profile client they had was Andy’s AMC clothing range. Now they supply England, South Africa, Kent and Surrey cricket teams, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Glasgow Rangers, Charlton and some other lower EFL teams, along with Harlequins rugby team.

Also official merchandise suppliers for Red Bull and McClaren F1 teams, and probably other clients I have forgotten.

Not cheap but it’s proper premium quality, and I know if I order medium I know it’s gonna fit perfectly.

I'll have a look at that.

    Cheers pal

Remember having a few bits from this brand back in the rave days.

    IMG_0055.jpeg

Was a couple of  brothers from Manchester who started that label of late 80s .

Was pretty big for a time had some decent bits .

Now all there is is JD buying everything up and cheapening it, factory made shite.

Kappa Sport Ski Jackets were also pretty popular iirc. I stuck to my Flight Jacket though, the colours didn't suit my pasty complexion lol.

Sure a lot of you will remember these things

Patrick Cagouls (they did adidas too) I think I had this originally in 83.

I bought this a couple of years ago on re-release off 80s Casual Classics.

The memory was fat better than the real thing (for me anyway 😂) think I've had it on twice.

I went to watch Richard Ashcroft outside last June it absolutely pissed down and I had this on I may as well have worn just a T shirt it was useless and not waterproof at all 😂🫣

In the early '70s it was..

    - Ox Blood Doc Martens

    - Faded parallel jeans with sewn in turnups (flares were already old fashioned !!!). Definitely no holes and none of that stone wash bullshit!

    - Faux US Marine T-Shits

    - Wrangler jean jacket with Leeds badges sewn on. (My cream Harrington was kept for nights out in Manchester. Mainly in C'est La Vie one and two. Worn with casual Marine Green trousers)

    - Two Leeds scarves one tied neatly worn inside buttoned up Wrangler jacket. One worn tied to the wrist!

    The original scarf circa 1976

Pringle diamond pattern was a regular sight for the casuals iirc, along with Lyle and Scott roll neck or a Lyle and scott jumper.

Farahs for school, or a pair of light blue or yellow farahs for going out.

Into Mintz and Davis Saturday morning with my mates spending all their YTS money of a single item.

Farahs were bang on back in the day... Not so sure I'd wear them now.

I bought a Patrick Cagoul on re-release about a year back always had good memories of them.early 80s I think I've had it on twice the memory was better than reality they are shite and belong back in the 80s  555

Pringle sweaters were one of my favourites. I used to wear one with Tacchini track bottoms, wish I’d still got my Adidas Trimm Trab trainers, loved those. Had loads of Fila and Kappa etc. moved on to Boss, Armani and Lacoste these days.

You can get a re-released Pringle Argyle jumper from.Stuarts of London set you back around £220 nowadays though 😳

I've got a few Trimm Trabs though.

Can’t beat the 80’s, so many individual fashion styles, now everyone seems to dress the same way.

Think about all the different groups of fashions from late 70s till late 80s.

Punks, Mods, Skins, Ska, New Romantics , Goths , Rock,Soul Boys Dressers/Casual/ Trendies,/PerryBoys , Ravers all dressing in theor own unique styles and all into different brilliant gendres of music.

    Now you have..

    Roadmen 🤣🤣🤣🫣

I feel sorry for the kids now they haven't got any identities and no fashions , just Instagram and pretending to enjoy life (through a lens)

I'd wanna be 18 again , but in the 50s/60/70/80/90s no way in 2024.

    Ffs we've hijacked Butch's thread. 🤣

My eldest son has the same size feet as me (10) I've offered him unused pairs still tagged up , but he doesn't want to know 🤣 He's more into Nike  or modern adidas trainers .

Saying that I never had the same taste as my old fella and would have laughed at his clobber too.

My 80’s football gear was adidas trainers, Levi jeans, Sergio Tacchini polo and Stone Island jacket.

That was over £400 back then.

Also had a Soviet jacket that was just under £300. Spent a lot of money on clothes back then, and still do. Now it’s pretty much all from Castore website.

Mate I've got more clothes than i've ever had in my life and a house full of trainers I'll prob never wear ,I go out in Manchester literally once a month 😂🤣

    Crazy .

I said I was going to reign it in after Xmas , but here I am 5 pairs of trainers in and it's the 3rd week in Jan ffs 😂🤣

could be worse at least it's not drink/drugs or gambling .Thankfully

Glad I wasn't a "casual" I'd hate to think of the prices of Sergio Tacchini Tracksuits, Kappa Sports stuff and lacoste T shirts etc.

Not too bad TBH you can get Sergio and Fila trakky tops for around £45ish in the sale . Kappa I haven't ever bothered with since the 80s though.

Stuarts Of London do some decent old stuff.
