  1. Now you have my undivided attention, beer holders indeed! Thanks for the heads up re length of grass v weather conditions. I have a great lawn mower (petrol) which can adjust height from almost ankle to Brazilian.
  2. Being ignored by the server when you order your coffee in perfect Thai or when you pay at yhe check out in Lotus and they give your change to the missus
  3. Superb life. Taking the downs with the same stoicism as the ups. Strong fellah!
  4. My dad (bless his soul) ex Grenadier Guards during WW2 on his death we found all the sauce bottles and cans etc of food lined up as if on parade outside Buckingham Palace they were anything up to three years out of date. His dad was a miner up in Sheffield (and played football for a number of teams including Man U) and was very careful with money. It was a trend passed down to his Don (my dad) but despite my best efforts, not so effectively embraced by me (or Mrs TT!)
  5. How about Mike Rutherfords driving bass line on Apocolypse in 9/8 (Suppers Ready)?
  6. Yessongs but sadly Chris Squore is no longer with us
  7. I believe that there is quite a crossing of lines but thanks anyway. Now I know how to use the strimmer and start it I am OK now. I can only improve with time and practice. Glad the s son got in touch, I gently reminded him a few days ago that my good friend... etc . He does do a pretty good job and for sure if there is anything you are not happy with let me know. He doesn't like it when I get "grumpy". How do you feel about catching up for a coffee some time? We can travel.
  8. Hi Pumpuinarak, sadly we sat and waited, day after day, nothing. In the end I flashed up my brand new strimmer (after nearly killing myself trying to start it until I found the bright red on/off switch. ) I have to say I am glad I am not a hairdresser but at least you can now see the ground. OK more so in some places than others but........ Seeing as how it only took me about 30 minutes to slash (as opposed to cut) the grass I feel very proud. I even discovered that due to the wonders of physics and modern design I don't have to stop the machine to extend the nylon cutters. Oh joy!
  9. So yesterday whilst wading through our lawn, I said "OK with such a lack of gardening services in Korat, I will do it myself. Never mind the 41 degree temperatures" so I set off strimming the edges and difficult places. After about 20 minutes the strimmer died. Not the batteries which were fully charged, the motor had overheated and cut out. Tried reviving it but it was dead. Had to go out and buy a new one. This new house is costing me greatly!
  10. On re reading your message, it is not the lovely grey one we are getting rid of it is the townhouse we moved from. Sorry for any confusion.
  11. Thanks nightman, much appreciated.
  12. I am mid way in redecorating inside. It is at Rung Arun Village just behind Hoepro opposite Lotus in Huathalae. Providing an agreement on price can be reached we will throw in a new us style fridge, quality master bedroom furniture from Major, a TV washing machine (front loader) gas hob. Water filters, pump, italian sofa the list is huge. How about I send you a few photos? Cheers Tim
  13. Thank you very much. It was a dream that Mrs TT and I had. Reality was more expensive than the dream and now we are stuck with a lovely town house, fully westernised and beautifully decorated that we are trying to shift.
  14. Thanks @the force, have done as suggested. Much appreciated. Khun PP I will ask Mrs TT to get her lad to get in touch. Now the problem, how do we do that?
  15. Not half bad / pretty good (attached the Thai kitchen and the secondary roofing)
  16. Hi khun PP. My wife's son did our extension and roofing and did a nit half bad job of it too. He doesn't speak our tongue so you would have to go through (sorry) Mrs PP but his work was quick and, from what I can see, pretty good quality certainly comparable to the UK. Let me know if it is of interest and I will see how busy he is. He lives in chock chai as does most of his team. He was deeply involved in the suratnaree development but does smaller jobs too. I found his prices were not bad either
  17. Maybe we could get him by asking him to call Mrs TT?
  18. Sorry, for some reason my phone only loaded your initial post, the following three pages did not appear. Time to change the dog and bone methinks.
  19. Wish I could help oldchum but I don't have Facebook, by choice. I will, however, keep an eye open as well as monitoring this subject so I am prepared when mine gets close to expiring.
  20. What the Deep Purple album? That was great!
