Pity I can't share my Hua Hin thread that I created on PattayaLive a few years back, that had so much in it, even if some of the items aren't all relevant now.
Can't remember how old your child is but a trip to Vana Nava Waterpark is a must. In fact if you stayed at the Holiday Inn you will have free unlimited entry to the park.
https://www.vananavahuahin.com/
A trip to Pala U Waterfalls with a car is a worthwhile trip, various levels can be ascended although some are tougher than others. It's on the road out of Hua Hin that would pass by the road off to Wat Mongkol, so could do both in the day. The link below highlights the National Park of Kaeng Krachan of which Palu U is part of. There is a map if moving down through the link.
https://www.thainationalparks.com/kaeng-krachan-national-park
The guys have mentioned quite a few other side trips, but there are a few others including Swiss Farm north of Cha Am which is worth a short visit if with smaller children.
Afternoon tea at the Centara and drinks on the 27th floor rooftop bar of the Holiday Inn, while looking straight down through the glass are both enjoyable.
The following link is TripAdvisor's view on 10 best things for kids but, for me, the list applies to adults as well. If you like good atmosphere, good food and music then a trip down to Cicada Market (near Khao Takiab) is a must. The Tamarind market is directly next door and easily accessible, actually it is my favourite place as that is where the best food is. When I was there in September last, the food was so good; I had a massive plate of the large prawns for 300 baht and a good size plate of scallops for 150. There are pizza stations and other great food options. The stalls in the Cicada Market sell some interesting wares, I am sure the wife would love it. I would suggest getting a Grab or taxi as parking can be a nightmare. It is open only on weekends.
Love Hua Hin, even when just talking about it lol
We'll be at Vana Nava next month.
@Lemondropkid will you be in Hua Hin still next month?
Just looking a heads up where you'll be if so, so know where to avoid 😁

Couldn't really care less TBH.
I just want to get from A to B a quick as possible, with as little hassle as possible.
Nicest thing I've had in ages was the free blueberry juice on FinnAir 😄

I very rarely paid a barfine.
Think it was a combination of i just to love just walking about Pattaya, watching the circus around me. Met loads of girls just through a smile or whatever, and with me not drinking i wasn't reallly in bars anyway.
Never found it an issue, even when they worked in gogo bars in the evening etc. They didn't seem to charge more than the usual freelancers.
I can remember posting similar in a different forum, and a few maniacs chastising me, saying i still owed the gogo or whatever a barfine, even if i met the girl walking on 2nd road in the afternoon. I said aye, i'll be in that big long queue every morning at the gogos full of people waiting to pay the barfine for a girl they met in Central and took them for an hour or so in the afternoon.
Fucking nutters, though some just liked to argue and come across like they knew how things worked in Pattaya more than anyone else.

For anybody who might be booking Finnair soon.
Yes, i got that email was well. I was actually going to book that weekend.
But i'll just do it on the Monday, still plenty of time within the voucher cut off.

If by myself i do prefer one. I like having a swim. Though i'm certainly not one for going on holiday and sitting round the pool much, i get bored, and like to be doing stuff, trying new things. So wouldn't bother me that way, but i like to cool down and exercise a bit in the pool.
With my daughter, it's essential. She loves swimming, and is good at it. We do swimming lessons at our local leisure centre, and she's stage 3, nearly stage 4, where most of the children are older. Can't wait till she's old enough to try kid's scuba, neither can she!

It runs out on the 06 April 2024. Value 90 Euro.
If you want it I will send the voucher to you by message. It has the voucher number and pin number to enable use. If you actually then use it, just send me £20/25. I will not use it.
PM when needing voucher.
Edit. as per Finnair:
Finnair gift card is not personal, so you can give it to someone else or purchase flights for others as well. Finnair gift card is valid for one year. Please buy your ticket before the expiration date marked on the gift card. Travel date can be later (max 360 days from the day of the purchase). Unused vouchers or a part of them are not redeemed.
I'll definitely take that off you Dave.
Absolutely loved my trip, was like a Spiritual Retreat for me!
Liked FinnAir as well. There is other options, cheaper ones like Ryanair or Easyjet to Rovaniemi then long bus run up.
But i can't be arsed with that on a roughly 1 week trip.
Will be booking for end of Feb this time 2 weeks. If it all goes through okay, accepts it no issues, and which i can't see why it wouldn't, then i'll certainly send you over £25. I'll have saved me £50 still.
Win/Win.

This is just one of dozens of links that come up on a Google search:
Well if Alice King, whoever the f**k she is, wants to stop using the term, that's up to her. No problem here.
What I have a problem with, is people like Alice King trying to impose their views on everyone else, like everyone should follow suit just because she and no doubt like minded others do.
I don't impose my views on them, so they can go f**k themselves if they are so arrogant they think only they can be right, and everyone should think or do as they do.

Doesn't it annoy you that now you cannot just say "orientals"? 🙁
Why who says you're not allowed to say Orientals?
Just never entered my head to say it. I can assure yiu if it had and i wanted to, I would've.
I think I walked past a restaurant earlier called 'Taste of the Oriental' or something like that.

I am a Finnair groupie, I like their service and I really like the quietness and ease of moving around that Helsinki airport. The lounge is really great, but I nearly complained when I was there; for some reason they had a program about 600lb women and the view of them taking a shower and sitting in their beds was not an image I will readily forget, especially while eating my food and guzzling quality wine.
Place is half empty at the moment.
Have to say, Lapland, Northern Lights or whatever must be really fashionable with a lot of Asians at the moment. I've seen more what look like Thai, Korean, Japanese, Chinese etc people in Helsinki Airport than when I see in Swampy.
I got talking to a young Thai couple at Ivalo Airport, and they had been to see the Aurora, husky sledging etc. Female was a Doctor, I was calling them hiso, they were laughing.
Loads of Asian restaurants in Helsinki airport, and they have this coconut vegetable soup here in the lounge which is lovely, spicy. Though the wife would roll her eyes and say 'For children' 🤣

Sounds as if it'll all be okay.
Gonna book for a week from Monday 24th February, so reckon I'll be able to do that from about 10th March.
And that's also inside the 360 days of purchase. I've actually just walk FinnAir Business lounge now. Overall I'll quite impressed with FinnAir. I like them, like their planes, and love their free blueberry juice lol.

You must have missed my post about my unused Finnair gift card, value 90 Euro, going for about £40, maybe posted while you were on one of your siestas from the forum.
I am likely to not use the gift voucher before April when it runs out,
If you need to upgrade or change flights at cost the gift voucher (just a numbered gift usable by anybody) can be used so if you are changing things, let me know, probably let it go for about £20 now.
What date in April does this run out, Dave? I've loved my time here so much, I'm gonna book another week from 24th Feb. Though FinnAir only put flights on a week or 10 days before the year, so could book and use the voucher probably mid March if still valid?
