  1. Well first of all the original idea was to make a collection to help Puang and Thomas at this difficult time and show our appreciation for the work Phil put in here building a community. Unfortunately promises made to Phil by certain people were not kept and Puang was left in an impossible situation re the funeral. We have enough money to pay for the funeral. The next thing is to pay for a celebrant to hold the service, we are £137 short of the £180 charged for this. I hope that there is a little left over to give to Puang as this was the original idea. Hopefully she will get some grant from the government and she can put that in the bank for her and Thomas. So fantastic effort lads. Thanks from the bottom of my heart and thanks again from Puang who has just been on the phone in tears saying thanks to everyone when I told here that the funeral was paid for.
  2. Cheers John your kind donation has arrived. Thanks also to @Painter and @roomark You guys are the best.
  3. A very kind donation from @KhunDon thanks very much mate.
  4. This is a copy of part of an email from the funeral directors There is another thread in which I mention that I'm being asked to do a eulogy. I've since found out what I am actually being asked to do is be the celebrant and host the whole service. I honestly think that this is beyond me so £180 is needed to pay for that too. I've done some small research into this and £150 to £250 is a normal price. There are a few promises to come in so we are not far off and I've offered to loan any shortfall that might occur.
  5. I have paid everything out of my own account so far. I'm going to withdraw the £2000 from the fund raising account that I've paid the funeral directors.
  6. I've paid the second instalment for the funeral. It will clear on Tuesday as this weekend is a holiday in England.
  7. A message from Puang... Thank you very much Andy and please say thank you so much to everyone from me for all help and support.🙏🙏 I have tried to send this message in a PM to all members who have donated. If you didn't get the pm please let me know so I can complete my list.
  8. Nearly two years ago a group of us decided to have a weekend in Leeds and visit Phil, Lanzalad. The week before he called me to say that he'd been diagnosed with cancer and had quit smoking immediately as he was going to do everything he could to fight it. I was the only one going who smoked so I decided that it would be unfair for me to smoke on that visit and got some nicotine patches. On the Saturday something went wrong and I kind of overdosed on the patch and felt terrible. Sunday I realised I'd left the others at home and just decided to go cold turkey. Never had a cigarette since and I never will.
  9. I have a PayPal transfer from @tommy dee Cheers pal.

Unfortunately I don't have access to my Thai bank account at the moment but I'm sure Tommy will help provide a solution.

  19. This is going really well and there have been some very generous donations. Now I don't give a f**k how much you donate and I ain't telling anyone either. So I'm thinking that there's quite a lot of members here who could give a little but a worried that the £5 ( a fucking beer for God's sake) or £10 might be embarrassing. No. Your fivers and tenners are welcome. Many hands make light work! My apologies for being tardy with some replies and info. In my defence I'm try to organise a weekend in Budapest and beginning a trial at a new job on Tuesday after two months without work. But that isn't your problem and I will catch up with some of this stuff at the airport in the morning. *bangs cup on the side of the forum*
