Thought you guys might get a kick out of this....last week I was in my man cave having coffee, waiting for wifey to make my Cheese Omelette right? She comes in there telling me she is going to buy me some new dress shoes that are on sale, half price, on line somewhere or some shit like that. I tell her I do NOT need any new dress shoes as the one's I have now are just fine. Of course they are "on sale" and well....we are going to Macau in Aug and they will look great?  WTF?  OK just get the hell out of here and leave me alone LOL!

Get a call at the gym yesterday, they have arrived. Get home, open the box and lookey here??  WTF is going on? Apparently I am going to "reprise" my role back in 1977 as Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever?  I asked her if she looked at these closely on line and she said "Yes, I thought you might like this style"??  Holy Shit!

Well.. the good news is, they fit perfectly and are very comfortable. I have a few friends coming in here the 3rd week of July, she has given me a kitchen pass for 2 nights to stay with them downtown....bad move on her part. I am going to take these guys to "Levels" where I will take over the floor LOL! Just like Travolta....

Never a dull moment with wifey...

I will never forget the day I spent several years ago at The Imperial War Museum, London. I could have easily spent a second day there but I had to move on. I hope to return one day.

Should be on everyones list in here as a "must see".

I agree with that. I think we spent an hour and a half just on one floor. It’s a great day out

I am trying to get my mind around the idea of 83 year old John Cleese doing a solo evening on stage in Bangkok.

I think this is a mistake of monumental proportions.

    Is he skint?

    Surely not?

I have so many fond memories of John Cleese entertaining us over the years. None of those involved him as a Stand Up performer.

Agreed. I knew his daughter, Cynthia from school but never met him and I’m struggling to think why at that age he’d bother.

I'll just log onto my Kasikorn account once Wise say it's gone, hopefully see it's 'arrived'.

    Card it is then!

They wanted me to set up the app last time I was in Thailand, but I said no, I don't always have the same number and have read it's a lot of hassle when you don't. I prefer just the card, luddite that I am!

If you fancy keeping your same number then I’d be inclined to set the app up and if you go annually to Thailand then you can just top up whilst in the country and then 3 or 4 times a year load in 100thb from the uk - you’d keep your sane number then and in credit when landed in Los.

    just my thoughts 😊

  5. Wow, this brings back memories from some 15 years ago when I’m sure it was far easier. We used an agent friend who submitted the app but I did all the research and compiled the documents- at that time Thai Visa was useful as well as talking to those who had done it.

the above info from @Horizondave is spot on. Also, present all your docs in a detailed and easy to read format section by section which makes those viewing it job much easier

    good luck with it 👍

For £1k Manual transfer £6.38 , card £10.54 ( faster )  I usually go for card as it's more convenient

if yourThai account doesn't have phone number or email details , then you'll still get confirmation from Wise that the money has gone , but nothing from your Bank , money will still get there

Big fan of wise and i also choose the card option (10 rather 6 quid) which is generally received in seconds and at a great Xe rate.

Generally do this when in the Uk so if I’m thinking correctly I’ll switch on my thai phone and see the notification pop up on screen from kbank as the money lands.

@Krapow when you’renext in Thailand get the bank to help you set up the app on your phone. That way you can also top up your SIM card phone credit to ensure you keep your this number

I worked with a guy when I was based in Birmingham who fed his German Shepherd on pie and chips he used to buy on his way home from a local chippy.

He tried other food but the dog just loved chippy steak pie and chips.

Reminds me of a chippy story from where I grew up. The local 25st barber used to allegedly have 15 pints 🍻 of beer on a Saturday then get to the chippy for 10pm, order two portions of fish n chips, one for the journey in the taxi back to his house and the second one to eat at home whilst watching match of the day !

    some man that
