I agree. There's some really good girls down there, some right stunners. The Nightwish bars do have some of the best girls on the street. I had a couple of beers in "Lust" this trip, some nice looking girls but the bloody music was obscenely loud. It did have a great atmosphere though.
I can't stay in those bars because the music is too loud.

Cheers. Their cheese (I think it's called pandoor) is like pressed cottage cheese.
Fcuk, I'm cheese deprieved. I'll eat any cheese as long as it's not head cheese.
I lived only a couple of hours from the border of Wisconsin. Cheese capital of the World. Well.... other than France.
I think other than the humidity here it is then number one thing I don't like about living here.
I am a big fan of very strong cheddar cheese and eat it all of the time.
Decent cheese is available in Thailand, but it is expensive.

Whatever happened to the typical Thai girl's description of:
Long black shiny hair
Five feet 4 inches tall
45 kilo's, wet through.
If Soi6 put out a ladies tug of war team they would not have a shortage of prospective anchor women.
Whilst I don't disagree with that comment, soi 6 has an amazing selection of girls right now ranging from your tug o war team through to 35kgs wet through spinners.
I think the saddest thing for me is that you could probably get a decent tug o war team out of many gogos now too, both in Pattaya and Bkk.

I can’t do drinking or drugs anymore, just have a very addictive and self destructive personality. Surprised my recent medical tests have been really good.
They have been really good because you have been really good mate.
No one can do it for ya and you have prevailed.
Long may it last.

Rather than continue OT in the Great Ranting Topic, I'll post this video here as a good example of what target fixation is. It's something that was an important part of the motorcycle training course I took. The trap is you tend to steer where your eyes are looking, which can be especially dangerous on curves. To counter it we were taught to turn our head in the direction we wanted to go to keep our eyes focused on where we should be going.
It's the same for high speed driving in a car too, especially if you are chasing someone!
What the brain does is damage limitation, but it will often get you in trouble!

I wonder just how many hundreds of thousand of gallons of good water were wasted during Somgkran? It seems kind of crazy that its followed by potential drought
No more better example of TIT methinks.
Lets hope the rains come steady and long so that no one suffers.

I have been battling a respiratory infection of some kind for about 10 days now. IIRC @forcebwithu reported a similar situation a few weeks back. This thing is kicking my ass some days. I must have slept 16 hours yesterday. Symptoms are respiratory congestion to the point that one's diaphragm starts to hurt from all the coughing, headaches, some dizziness, and lack of energy.
The Mrs had this starting about a week ahead of me, so I am pretty sure where I caught it. She is still not fully recovered. Her bout was worse than mine. She went to a clinic and they told her she was having a Long Covid episode. To the best of my knowledge Long Covid is not transmittable. I am calling quack on the doc. Also, I have never had Covid, so from what I understand it would be impossible that I am also having a Long Covid episode. Make that quack, quack on the doc.
A new strain of covid was doing the rounds in Bkk just as I left.
Several guys and gals in the pool circuit had it in various stages of illness.

Well, we start our trip next Sunday. Given the lovely temps in Thailand at this time, we may well skip trekking around Wat Po and the Royal Palace. Really the first two days of our trip will be taken up by final prep for the visa interview and the interview itself.
I plan on hitting the @lazarus restaurant recommendation and probably Asiatique one night. Other than that breakfast, pool time, and air conditioning sound appealing. 🙂
The nice thing about Bkk is that it is so easy to get around via the BTS which has aircon or taxis and Tuk Tuks, obviously no aircon in the latter.

Had a lazy day catching up with various stuff on the net.
Ordered a few bits and bobs the last couple of days.
Star of the show are Gillette, I ordered 24 mach 3 blades yesterday and they arrived today by RM parcel delivery.
I wasn't expecting that.
Trying to decide whether to get off my sorry ass and go for a walk before starting on a bottle of red. The weather is so shite it's hard to get motivated, plus the snooker has just come back on.

It's been my biggest contrast ever when returning home.
Usually I return to mid double temps in March, this year I have returned in late April to single figures and rain.
It really is f***d up.
Thailand is the hottest I have known it and here the wettest and coldest I can ever remember in April.
It's now midday and only 6 degrees with a real feel of minus 2. FFS.

Tried to avoid whiskey as much as possible as it made me very aggressive for some reason.
I am bad enough anyway lol.
I worked with a guy who couldn't drink the stuff, turned him very quickly and all he wanted to do was fight everyone.
Was never that way on anything else!

I am a lover of neat spirits and often drink a double shot with one ice cube to smooth off the taste when it melts a touch.
Generally not a big fan of whisky, but am quite partial to Jamasans Irish Whiskey and a decent malt, if it is not too peaty.
I love a good rum and Thailand provides me with that fix in the shape of Sangsom, which is amazingly cheap for a decent tasting rum!

Some great snooker this week.
Ronnie needs to settle down or he will loose if Day gets over his nerves.
Random Pictures. (Just add one photograph that you personally have taken).
