  1. It's not the biggest white elephant, but it must be up there not far down - The Avenue shopping mall.
  2. @Stillearly The old Tim's Bar is now Beertique. As you can see, it is still between the massage shop and the pharmacy. There is another entrance to Beertique, which is up the side soi, and opposite the Wizard Brewery (just down from the Intimate Hotel). What intrigues me is what is written above that entrance, viz. FOURTEEN AGAIN TIM BAR superior room for rent - rock & roll music - agogo & coyote dancer - pool tables - live sports - 200 inc. screen Could it be that Tim Bar still exists, but is hiding! 🙂
  3. Thanks. I understand your point. I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow.
  4. The gogo previously known as Pulse in Soi LK Metro has re-opened as Minx, and I looked in this evening (Friday 8 Sept). There were 7 girls on stage, all topless, 4 without silicon, 3 with. I would rate them all in the 4 to 6 out of ten range. SML 140 Baht. The girls' shift rotated to one where the girls were wearing swimming costumes, but their looks were more in the 5 to 7 range. The layout of the place is not much changed from Pulse, except now there is just one (central) stage, and the Jacuzzi has gone. I didn't feel a need to return!
  5. Some time between my being here in June and now.
  6. Yes, and demolished. Now part of a brewery/bar/restaurant.
  7. At 5.30pm today, Soi 15 was totally inaccessible from Second Road, even for pedestrians. I thought I'd be clever and enter via the small soi that runs parallel to Second Road (where the Hangover Lounge is), but it proved to be a dumb thought, not a clever one! I had to walk all the way to The Avenue to get to Soi 15.
  8. Nah! It's the next eleven and a half hours of boredom!
  9. And the departure gate is usually much busier than I am seeing right now.
  10. Is she remaining in BKK or going elsewhere?
  11. Where is she travelling to?
  12. I am sat in the United lounge now, and I have to say that I'm very impressed. It is better than Air Canada and Singapore, and substantially better than Lufthansa. I'd rate it equal to, or better than, the EVA lounge at Swampy. It is spacious, full of natural light, has a good selection of food and drinks, and an abundance of charging sockets. The only negative is that the staff seem a bit surly.
  13. Yes, I'm doing the same, but am enjoying the comfort of the United lounge - the advantage of flying so often with EVA that I have a Star Alliance Gold Card.
  14. Thanks. Just what I needed to know. 🙂
  15. If you have had experience of the United lounge at Heathrow, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on it, please.
  16. My understanding is that it was built to accommodate large tour groups, and since their numbers have not returned to anything like pre-Covid levels, it is likely to remain a white elephant until they do.
  17. The cynic in me says they want to sell tickets on the Heathrow Express. Those of us in London with old fogies' free transport cards can do the journey free on the Elizabeth Line, but have to pay for the Heathrow Express.
