Thai media The Bangkok Insight has revealed the first flights that will be allowed into Thailand now that the government has approved plans for the STV or special Tourist Visa.

The first flights will be from Guangzhou in China on October 8th and 25th.

The first will be a specially chartered Air Asia flight to Phuket carrying 150 tourists.

Then on October 25th 126 people will be allowed on a Thai Smile flight to Suvarnabhumi.

The third flight mentioned by the media will be on November 1st from what they termed "prathet Scandinavia" or "the country of Scandinavia".

This will contain 120 passengers and also be bound for Suvarnabhumi.

They said that tourism minister Pipat Ratchakitprakarn's much vaunted STV plan is now just awaiting rubber stamping after gaining approval at a CCSA meeting chaired by PM Prayut Chan-ocha yesterday.

Tourists will be housed at one of five hotels that have been approved as part of the Alternative Local State Quarantine plan.

There are 300+ rooms available in Chonburi, Phuket and Buriram.

One more place is currently under consideration to house the tourists.

Should be called the Selective Tourist Visa as its very clear that those on the first few flights will have been hand picked.

Tourists to get unlimited 30-day extensions to stay after ‘visa amnesty’ ends

PHUKET: Foreigners staying in the country on any form of tourist visa will be allowed to repeatedly renew their permits to stay with immigration for periods of 30 days at a time after the ‘visa amnesty’ ends on Sept 26, the Immigration Bureau announced today (Sept 3).

    >>>>

Gen Pornchai explained that any tourists unable to return home after Sept 26 due to illness are to apply for an extension to stay by applying at an Immigration office and presenting a medical certificate to prove they are unfit to fly.

However, those who are unable to return home due to lack of flights or other circumstances in their home country must present a letter from their home country’s embassy or consulate in Thailand requesting that the foreign be allowed to continue to temporarily stay in the Kingdom, Gen Pornchai added.

Foreigners will be granted 30 days’ stay each time, Gen Pornchai said.

However, if the tourist’s circumstances have not changed within the 30 days, they can apply for another 30 days’ stay, he added.

Can't see many embassies/consulates issuing letters as there are and will be flights available to leave before the 26th.

The unfit to fly medical certificate on the other hand may well be a good money maker for some.

If there was a way you could return, would you be happy to pay the 30k baht plus for a two week state quarantine each time?

Not while working 28/28 If my back to back was to agree to 56/56 then I'd certainly think about it.

Here's a quote from a guy who done just that this week.

For those asking about cost of all this. This is my costs for this trip home.

    F2F.                      80.
    Covid.                120
    Insurance.       866
    ASQ hotel.   1,306
    ABD to AMS.  267
    AMS to BKK.   717

    Total.                 3,356. Uk pounds
                                 3,701.  Euros
                            133,593. Thai baht

I had to Google it but ABD is the code for Abadan Airport in Iran. Is that a typo and should be ABZ for Aberdeen Airport.

I can't eat them on their own for some reason. But on buttered toast they taste great.

Also as part of a good full English breakfast.

Some grated cheese on top then under the grill and add some worcestershire sauce. A proper single man's meal.

New one is insane, 214hp and does 114mph in first gear.

Older ones are a bit more sensible.

114mph in first is insane. I'm happy cruising in 6th at that speed.

And why did they have to introduce a deposit system.

Because lazy kunts wouldn't do the right thing and return the trolley voluntarily.

    The third part.

I remember as a kid it was someone's job to go around the car park and collect the trolleys. Bringing in the deposit system done away with the need for that job.
