  1. Interesting article (multiple sourced): A greatly-increased number of cremation urns are being ordered throughout China this year, giving rise to speculation that the official Chinese death rate might be low by a decimal order of magnitude from the actual number. https://www.newsweek.com/wuhan-covid-19-death-toll-may-tens-thousands-data-cremations-shipments-urns-suggest-1494914
  2. The Chinese are lying, and western countries are inflating the numbers by counting everyone who dies WITH the virus as having died OF the virus. That is, if you turn up at a hospital with terminal cancer and a bullet in your head, and you test positive for the virus before or after death, they count you as a COVID death.
  3. Feel free to point out what's not factually accurate about that post.
  4. Opinions vary. https://worldpopulationreview.com/countries/third-world-countries/ "Because Thailand did not initially join the Allies or the Communism Bloc, it is a Third World country. Thailand is considered to be a developing country or more accurately a New Industrialized Country. This means that Thailand has advanced farther relative to other countries, but has not yet reached the level of modern industrialized nations, such as the Western Nations. A large part of Thailand is still poor and rural." BTW, "get out of quarantine free" cards will only be as good as the tests they use to hand them out. If the tests aren't very accurate, they simply act as super-spreader permission slips. The best solution continues to be to quarantine the sick, the at-risk, and the likely exposed, and let everyone else get on with it. IMO of course.
  5. A guy I knew died about a week ago, and I suspect I had it myself. My mother is a ~90 year old cancer survivor. Because I think the world's reaction to this isn't rational, that doesn't mean I don't know that people die from it. People die from lots of causes that don't give governments an excuse to put everyone under house arrest and engage in fascistic take-overs of economies and businesses.
  6. A nice cup of Thai peaberry coffee from this company in the US: https://theexoticbean.com/organic-shop-coffee/
  7. Sirius/XM Channel 74, BB King's Bluesville. Just finished their Sunday morning acoustic blues show called "Front Porch". Been a smattering of old and new, e.g. Sleepy John Estes, Son Jack Jr., Keb Mo. Now back to regular programming: Albert King - "Let's Have a Natural Ball"
  8. So they don't see a doctor until they get to the hospital, at which point I assume they get tested. Not sure how this means that everyone in hospital is COVID+, but I'm not inclined to argue with you mate Other people maybe. 🙂
  9. Souinds right IIRC. I have her on Facebook but she doesn't post much. I might see if I can raise her on Messenger and check on her.
  10. She nearly died actually. Was badly busted up. Spent a month in hospital in Bangkok (IIRC) until she was well enough to return to Denmark. Multiple surgeries while there and about 2 years of recovery. She's starting to get around a bit now. She was in Pattaya when I was there in February but more or less confined to quarters because she still isn't really walking well. I was escorting a noob so didn't have time to visit her (he said guiltily).
  11. Everywhere it went anyway. It actually wasn't that bad, although we did eventually relegate it to the balcony. 🙂
  12. One afternoon I was sat at my computer, as usual at the time given I was still at least trying to make a living off my business. Anyway, I was on the phone with my partner as I recall, when suddenly a bird appeared in my field of vision. Nothing unusual about that given that I lived on the 15th floor of View Talay 1. However, this bird got bigger and bigger until, yep, it flew right into the condo. Clearly a racing pigeon from a club, and clearly exhausted and hungry, it hung out for about a week. We fed and watered it, and Lady R. gave it a name. I tried contacting the local pigeon racing club etc., emailed them pics of the leg tags, etc., no response. It disappeared as mysteriously as it came. Amazing Thailand.
  13. I think I had one, maybe just not photogenic enough. 😄
  14. I agree. Rip it out root and branch.
  15. As usual for liberals, the part that he DIDN'T emphasize is the important part: on account of race or color. Requiring an ID to vote would only be contrary to this statute if, for example, only minorities were asked for an ID (as you pointed out). This is of course an idiotic notion, accounting for why liberals claim it. Anyway, absent "lazaarus" returning from the dead yet again with some reason why this exchange is on-topic, I'm done with it.
  16. Your memory is clearly short. Not sure where "lazarus" is coming from here, maybe everything but his brain got resurrected this time.
  17. The right to vote for American citizens is stipulated in several places, such as the 26th Amendment. The fact that the right is circumscribed by requirements such as citizenship and age implies that some proof of the Constitutional requirements would be permissible. Unfortunately, liberals can only read the parts of the Constitution they like. The parts they don't like apparently look like some version of "blah blah blah blah", or perhaps sound in their minds like the grownup voice trumpet sound from the Charlie Brown cartoons.
  18. For US citizens, as your own source correctly stated. Reference the "previous post" so I can follow your scatterbrained "thought" process. I've refuted everything you posted, so I'm satisfied so far.
  19. That's a state function, nothing to do with the federal Constitution.
  20. That's not an answer to any of the remarks I made. If you're conceding the point, just say that and we can stop wasting time.
  21. From your text: any citizen of the United States How do you propose to establish that someone is a citizen of the United States, as required by the Constitution clause YOU QUOTED?
  22. What does one thing have to do with the other? Anyone who qualifies to vote will have a proper ID. This isn't 1820 when births were recorded in the family Bible.
  23. Pretty simple. Trust government at your peril. Ask the Chinese, Germans, Russians, Venezuelans, Norks, etc. etc.
  24. A few from Wat Muang, Ayutthaya. Reputedly the largest Buddha image in Thailand:
