  1. My next door neighbor just moved out. She was nice, no issues.

My other two neighbors are off on long holidays.

The quiet in the hood is wonderful. The only thing making noise are the birds.

    Can't get much better.

  2. Planning my garden.

Once I have the proper soil and drainage affairs sorted I will section it off into basically three sections.

The three sections will be individualized to favorite plantings of my mom, sister and aunt (I know, sounds gay).

I will also include some assorted fruit trees (even more gay, but fcuk off).

I have to find a way to fit all of this into a limited area of space with consideration for future dogs who have an extreme tendency to dig.

Damn, I think I will just go to bed now.

I had a car painted by him a 1978 Mercury Monarch all four quarter panels had four or five inch rust holes in them because it was a car from Michigan and the road salt ate through the panels. They did all the bond over primed it painted it clear-coated it and it looked like a million bucks when they were done with it it looked like it was ready for the garbage before they started. Cost me 200 bucks. They were definitely the fast food car painters

I had a brilliant '74 Ford Torino Elite. Fabulous car.

Within three years it was a rusted out shitbum stranded on the South Side.

They have 2 sets of "lenses", or appear to be 2 separate cameras on the mobile units attached to a larger pod. The Border Force use them at work all the time, and these were the same type as we have, so I noticed them instantly. They were atop of a minivan as well, which is a give away as all the intelligence stuff is inside along with a back up A/C unit.

The tech stuff out there is mind blowing.

Nearly 15 years ago we tested (against my advice) a license plate scanner on a squad.

It had two cameras mounted on each side. You could roll down a street or through a parking lot, scan hundreds of plates and almost instantly get feedback (hits).

Just think what they have out now !

The problem is... well heck there are many.

    Completely F'd IMO.

How do you spot facial recognition cameras do they have some extra features

Not sure mate. But recently I did an I.D. verification with the IRS. When they did the biometric photo it was like taking an acid trip.

Got it now and you're right, that guy on the trike didn't look or even try to slow down - doesn't make it entirely his fault but I'd have much better self-preservation instincts than that even at home.

I didn't watch the vid. But I can easily visualize.

Stuff like that never fails to baffle me.

    ----------

A couple years ago in Central CM (Loi Kroh Road. Intersection (there is a police box there), just past the canal bridge.

Walking. I approached the corner sidewalk area at the intersection. No traffic, yet I pause anyway (I suppose habit). I sensed something.

Then I hear a motorbike whizzing along travelling toward the intersection. Something seemed odd. It was the sound, it wasn't slowing down. I waited with one foot on the roadway, the other on the curb, still in pause mode.

A small car comes from the cross direction, enters the intersection. The motorbike impacts the side of the car. The bike shatters into dozens of pieces. The bike driver flies over the car, bounces off the pavement and lands about a yard from my foot in the roadway.

The bike driver was screaming and writhing in agony.

I thought to myself. "Well, at least he is screaming. He will probably make it."

It’s like the acid attack in London by someone who attacked his ex partner and her two young children.

Was found dead in the river Thames a couple of weeks later. He drowned himself just after.

Really don’t know how people can do that.

Human behaviour is often difficult to comprehend.

When I was a young pup just starting out I remember a comment my Captain made. It was off the cuff (thinking out loud) sort of thing.

"Anyone is capable of doing anything"

That comment, that thought, that reality echos daily for me.

Stress "overload" can cause a brain to short circuit. For some (I reckon anyone) how they respond can be totally unpredictable.

    ---------------

Another thing that has always stuck with me....

Anyone who is having a serious suicidal episode can become homicidal in an instant. Also unpredictable.

"Police are trying to extradite a suspect in the murder of a woman in central London earlier this month.

Detectives will not name the person they believe killed Angela Thiamphanit, or where they currently are.

Police found Ms Thiamphanit, 26, with stab wounds at her home in Stanhope Place, Westminster, on 8 April.

The Met Police has asked the Crown Prosecution Service to rule on whether the force has enough evidence to extradite the murder suspect.

Ms Thiamphanit, who had dual Chinese-Hong Kong and Thai nationality and worked in property management, had been living in the UK for about nine years, having initially come over to study at university."

I hope they use one of these to pull him out of his hole....

Great post, Even the media glossed over the kindness that the Thai people extended to foreigners during that Tsunami period, also, when the Airport was taken over during the change of Govt (choosing my words carefully due to forum rules) - Many Thai people helped those stranded at the Airport by bringing food, taking care of the children and generally also being helped a lot by the people occupying the Airport at the time who gave ration packs and ensured there was plenty of water to go around.

As for good farangs, in Pattaya I think more so in recent years, foreigners look upon other foreigners with suspicion. I got chatting to an Aussie bloke in a bar who told me that for every 10 blokes he meets, at least 3 of them have an angle of some description.

I think Pattaya can erode the kindness of people somewhat, but as @Nightcrawler said in his excellent post, Pattaya is somewhat of a bubble. I've seen some bloody horrific behaviour by farangs in pattaya, but on the flipside I've seen acts of kindness that go largely unnoticed, but they never go unappreciated if they're genuine acts of kindness towards a Thai.

Absolutely. Pattaya presents a distorted perspective.

Years ago as I branched out my eyes were opened, new discoveries, experiences and learning opportunities around every corner. My outlook on people in general became more positive, yet I maintained a reasonable level of wariness.

Pattaya still has some quality people with truly good hearts, and I will always visit.

For those who have hesitated to explore outside of there consider what's beyond. Doing so may change your life for the better.

To this day I thank the local co-op for introducing me to Gewurzstraminer ! Probably the best afternoon I spent with my Mum sitting in her garden before she died and we both fancied a drink so I drove into town. It was a lovely hot summers day and it was the only wine left in any of the fridges in town. Bloody hell 9% German muck I thought to myself as I bought a bottle.....

I got home and poured a glass each. Oh My Buddha was I wrong! Straight back into town and emptied the fridge!!

Thank You Co-op for a wonderful afternoon with my slightly tipsy Mum !!

    Nice one mate.
