  1. They need tourists to survive. There's just not enough expats to go around. From what im hearing, whilst soi LK metro and parts of buakhao are holding up well, soi lengkee is apparently struggling.
  2. They've been doing it for years. There was an online chatroom called camfrog, it was full of Thai brasses dancing for money, albeit the customers were mostly Thai.
  3. If I was flowers I'd rent out a couple of large rooms above the bar. Get it fitted with lighting and audio for live streaming. Then have girls constantly working online, selling snide tequilas to lonely men thousands of miles away. He can do this when the borders reopen, he'd a make a fortune.
  4. Why are you sharing Britain and the NHS. The NHS is a crumbling, bureaucratic shitpit full of diversity co-ordinators and some of the worst health outcomes in the developed world. Researchers have now completed the trial, known as the Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial (ACTT-1). The study was funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). The final report appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine on October 8, 2020. Scientists randomly assigned 1,062 hospitalized COVID-19 patients to receive remdesivir or a placebo plus standard treatment. The patients received an intravenous infusion of remdesivir or placebo for up to 10 days. The final results showed that the antiviral treatment was beneficial, consistent with the preliminary findings. Patients who received remdesivir were quicker to recover, which was defined as being medically stable enough to be discharged from the hospital. The median recovery time was 10 days with remdesivir compared to 15 days for the placebo group. Patients given remdesivir were more likely to have improved by day 15. Remdesivir also improved mortality rates for those receiving supplemental oxygen (4% with remdesivir versus 13% with placebo at day 29 of treatment). All-cause mortality among all patients was 11% with remdesivir and 15% with placebo at day 29, but this difference between the treatment groups was not large enough to rule out chance. The preliminary findings hadn’t shown an effect on mortality. The study also suggested that remdesivir treatment may prevent patients from progressing to more severe respiratory disease. Those treated with remdesivir were less likely to need high levels of respiratory support. Remdesivir appeared to most benefit patients who were receiving supplemental oxygen. “Our findings show that remdesivir is a beneficial treatment for patients with COVID-19,” says study author Dr. John Beigel of NIAID. “It may also help to conserve scarce health care resources, such as ventilators, during this pandemic.” https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/final-report-confirms-remdesivir-benefits-covid-19#:~:text=By April%2C early results indicated, people hospitalized with COVID-19.
  5. What a load of bollocks. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55244122 Covid vaccine causing allergic reactions. They don't even know if this thing stops transmission, now they are telling this can't be sure what side effects it causes, and if it will cause an allergic reaction. But if you express concern about the speed of the vaccine you're an anti-vaxxer.
  7. Remdisivir works. I wouldn't listen to a word the NHS says. It's a basket case healthcare system befitting of a third world nation.
  8. I think you are misunderstanding what I am saying. At some point, Thailand, like the rest of the world will come to terms with the fact that covid can not be 'eliminated'. There is no such thing as 'zero covid'. This illness will circulate like other coronaviruses, but now we have a vaccine. At some point the world will come to that realisation, the drawbridges will come down and life will return to normal. Will we need vaccinations to fly, yes, probably insurance to cover covid sickness as well. But I will bet every penny I have, that in two years time (max), tourists will be flowing in and out of Thailand in much the same numbers they were prior to covid19. Just like they will flowing all over the world, as people come to the realisation that they can't hide forever.
  9. Power is a hell of a drug. These faceless bureaucrats like Von Tam and Whitty were nobodies until covid came along. Now they have 66 million dancing on strings. Do you think they are seriously going to give it up so easily... Not a chance. Meanwhile, it's the working class poor who are suffering most. All those retail and hospitality jobs that are being lost, those people live hand to mouth and now they have had their livelihood destroyed. But hey, at least they are 'protecting the NHS'.
  10. A balancing act? Are you fucking kidding me? What's balanced about it. Most of us a still suffering under an arbitrary lockdown, jobs are being lost, more lives are being lost to other untreated illnesses, and yet again working class people are suffering the most. The middle class types can afford to work from home, no skin off their nose, and it isn't these scientists and bureaucrats on six figure salaries trying to come up with excuses to tell their kids why santa Claus is coming this year. We have theraputic treatments, we have a vaccine, excess deaths are no great cause for concern. Now is the time to get on with life. If people like you want to his behind the sofa, fine. But you should not be allowed to hold the rest of society back from functioning.
  11. I understand what you are saying, but believe me, at some point they will release there is no such thing as 'zero covid'. That this mild illness will be around forever, much like the common cold, and the flu.
  12. Jan and Feb always see the NHS under pressure. Is this a pandemic or a crisis in the NHS? If this a crisis in the NHS then the rest of the country should not be made to suffer. Once the first batch of 'at risk' people are vaccinated the restrictions must be lifted immediately. The restrictions are causing more harm than good. It really seems that way. What really is worrying is that we are being dictated to by unelected scientists and medical 'professionals'. If you dare question any of their decisions you are some kind of David Icke conspiracy theorist wackjob. We have effective theraputic treatments and a working vaccine, time to get on with things.
  13. Genuine question for those that still support the imposition of lockdowns and restrictions. We now have effective treatments that have greatly reduced the death rate of those who catch covid19. We also now have a vaccine that at the very least stops 95% of people who contract covid19 from expericing any severe symptoms. If that isn't enough to allow us to return to something close to normality, what is?
  14. No doubt Thailand has higher cases than is reporting. I don't think it's covering up a serious outbreak, with social media it would soon be exposed, similar to the Chinese lies. I don't blame the Thais if they are reporting less cases than they have, it only creates unnecessary hysteria. Anyway, the 'zero covid' approach is one expensive folly that Thailand and indeed many countries will soon come to terms with. This ain't going anywhere, time to pull on our big boy pants and accept that.
  15. So what? Do you see thousands of bodies lying rotting on the streets of Bangkok or Chiang Mai? This is not the plague. We have effective treatments and now a vaccine. If that isn't enough to end this then what is?
  16. McCarthy didn't replace Darlow. That means I had to play with 10 men. I demand a recount. FRAUD!
  17. I would never say never, because nobody loves a slip up more than Slippy G. However, Rangers look a much better side than last season and they don't look like getting beat atm. I wouldn't be surprised if they went the league season unbeaten. Celtic on the otherhand, what has happened? I still think they have a better side than rangers, but it appears as if some of the players have downed tools, and Lennon is clueless. What Celtic have achieved is incredible, and will likely never be matched, but they will be kicking themselves that they couldn't see off the 10 in a row. If they do lose the title, Lennon will go, and they need to use that as the opportunity to revitalise the squad. Celtic still have a fantastic side of players that I personally rate highly such as McGregor, Christie and Edouard. However, I think Frimpong and Ntcham are massively overrated, and have been found out this season.
  18. Because we now have effective treatments for Covid19, as well as a vaccine. This lunacy has to end at some point, if a vaccine doesn't end it, then what will? There is no such as 'zero covid'. People need to understand that like the flu and the common cold, the coronavirus will always be around, and there will always be people that die from it.
  19. The vaccine won't be mandatory, but if you plan on having any sort of social life, traveling etc, you are going to need it.
  20. A vaccine that could possibly only work for 3-4 months for a virus which 99.9% of people survive. Right, makes complete sense. I can not wait for the public inquiry into all this, although I suspect it will be like the Iraq War tribunal when whistle lowers suddenly started throwing themselves down mountains (poor old Dr Kelly, never stood a chance). Anyway, at some point the world has to turn again, and if that mains a poxy half-assed vaccine is it, then so be it, and soon enough world governments will realise that.
  21. Rangers have the league title well and truly won. Actually, they may well go this league season unbeaten. Celtic are pitiful.
  22. Exactly, in fact you probably won't even have to see the doctor. Go to some mass vaccination centre, check in on the app, get vaccinated and get your email proof. Bobs your uncle, fanny is your aunt. What the f**k is the point of the vaccine if it doesn't stop people from catching Covid. We truly are living in the dumbest time in human history.
  23. Not necessarily. Similar to covid testing it could be a case of showing proof of vaccination. There is going to be some sort of proof as this destroying the global economy, and if the vaccine is the cure, surely you will need proof you had it. A simple thing to do would be a similar system to how covid testing in the UK works. Get the vaccine and recieve an email from NHS provider etc. There is absolutely no reason why somebody who has proof of vaccination should be denied entry to a country, or subjected to quarantining.
