  1. The walkway along Beach Road was so much better until they "improved" it.
  2. There was a post in Thai about second road and the best I could understand from it was that July 10 is the projected date to finish the work on Second Road. That could be a misreading but it gives me some hope that it will finish at some point. As for soi 15, it is a nightmare at both ends and now the construction people have dumped a lot of big pipes and metal slats on the end near Second Road. Are they soon planning on finishing that side or do they just need a place to store their junk?
  3. The live streaming took place two days before the GoGo opened to the public. Only invited guests were in the audience and they knew that they might appear on camera. It was basically a dress rehearsal for the staff and a way to get some publicity for the place at the same time.
  4. The shape of that curb looks like they're planning on increasing the room for parking.... Yet in just a few days all parking on the right side of Beach road will be prohibited.
  5. I don't think my message prompted action but yes it seems that overnight they have put the blacktop in nearly all of the places where there was the new concrete laid a while back. However there are still a few crucial places where there isn't even concrete laid and due to those places Second Road remains a one lane road from Pattaya Tai to Soi Diana. All they've done is made parking a lot easier on Second Road. But progress is progress and it shows that miracles can happen.
  6. Road work on Soi 15 stopped months ago leaving it incomplete at the ends and now road work on Second road has ceased leaving it as one lane for a large stretch. Yes the workers are very slow but both projects have made things much worse than when they started, but unless they resume work again there's no hope of both roads ever being finished. Does anyone know why both projects have been abandoned? It is lack of money? Is someone suing someone and work ceases until the legal system comes to a conclusion?
  7. Investigate? What's to investigate? The big metal arm on the digger machine contacted the low hanging power wires that are all along the soi, causing a short which resulted in a big spark which ignited the vegetation and a big fire started. Ok. Investigation over. Let's resume the work so maybe they'll be done by next Christmas. btw: the word I heard from a bar owner near the fire area was that they had used up all the money allotted for the Soi 15 part of the overall project and no more work will be done until more money is allocated. I have no idea if this is true or not.
  8. A friend spotted this on the dark side... Does anyone have the back story on this?
  9. Let's hope. They have been working on that small section for 4 to 5 months.
  10. ThTThis This is an official government infographic and it has a more lenient interpretation of the stay at home order. Instead of staying at home except for necessary travel it's "stay in your province" except for necessary travel. I would guess that the official announcement is reality and this is just someone making a mistake conflating two of the restrictions from the official document..... but interesting nevertheless.
  11. The map is quite old... highway 7 doesn't even reach Pattaya let alone go south to Na Jomtien and Rayong.... But the map does show that checkpoint are at province borders and not stopping traffic inside the province.
  12. Today is the first day of an actual lockdown in Pattaya and I wonder if anyone's seen any police checks where they might inquire about where you're going to see if it is a "necessary trip". I like to wander around unnecessarily on my motorbike in the morning and I'd hate to give that up (or have to give some lame excuse about having to get to a 7-11 in the distance for food).
  13. ok.. Tapatalk still works fine for me. I didn't know it was broken for some.
  14. I hope you keep Tapatalk access. It makes it easier to keep track of what's going on than using a web browser on my phone. When Addicts removed Tapatalk access the end result was that I hardly ever look at Addicts any longer unless I find myself on a desktop machine (like now).
  15. I had a great time at the gogos tonight. Electric Blue was open and for good reason as the Dollhouse was packed and they needed a place for the overflow crowd. I found a favorite at EB and was kept entertained in my seat. Open 7pm to midnight. Next I went to Fahrenheit to see a favorite there. It was pretty crowded as well. I heard that they will open only 5 days a week ( I think they are closed on Monday and Tuesday). Again open 7pm to midnight. For me nothing beats a gogo. You can enter and enjoy a show and if you feel like it you can get up close with a member of the staff. Drink prices don't concern me. It's more important that I have a good time when I go out than I save some baht.
  16. Has anyone heard if the Go-Go's will open up on February 1st? They would have to open pretty early in order to get enough hours in before the 11:00 p.m. closing. But this was done before when there was a curfew after the last coup. Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk
  17. I know of a Super Girl on Soi Diamond that turned into Angel a gogo.... I wasn't aware that it was reborn on Walking Street. Where was it before its demise?
  18. The True Wallet is just like a bank account controlled by True. There is nothing physical. There is an app on your phone that shows your True Wallet balance. If you want to pay with True Wallet you click on the 'pay' button on the app and it brings up a QR code and the person at the register scans the QR code and money is transferred from your True account to the merchant. You can transfer money to another true wallet user (using their phone number). You can add money to your wallet from your bank using the bank's app on your phone. When I used True Wallet at a 7-11 I got a discount.. I'm not sure if that was just a promotion.
  19. I visited some gogos last night. I hadn't been in quite a while. Dollhouse -- now includes girls from Electric Blue, Beavers and XXX (upstairs) which are all closed. Incredible lineup, beating their pre-virus group by a mile. They were dancing in the XXX costume (i.e. a bit of gauze around the waist). A smattering of customers (but this was a Thursday, I expect bigger crowds on the weekend). A real barfine is 1000 baht and the short time rental is 800 baht. It's like going back in time. PinUp - plenty of seats available at 10:30pm. Girls dance behind plexiglass. Lots of pretty ladies. I spent a lot on lady drinks.. they are thirsty gals. Overall I like the Dollhouse better. Lots of eye candy, more skin and interaction. Also I like parking my motorbike on WS and making a short walk to the gogos...
  20. And I think that Mr Egg did what any mature sane person would do. Diffuse the situation instead of making it worse. i admire him for that. We already have more hot heads than we need. Sorry bro but that's how I see it.
  21. I renewed mine just about one year ago. People were packed like sardines as we watched the video and did the tests. That's not going to happen today which implies they can process far fewer applicants now. I heard about needing an appointment in some news report. I"m not sure if that's true or not. Here is where an Agent might come in handy as they will know how things are running now. Also when you make photocopies of your passport and current licenses (front and back) make sure you sign each photocopy...
  22. you are making two separate applications to renew your licenses so you need two separate piles of documents, each complete without reference to the other. No copies of the residence certificate and medical. If you go to Jomtien immigration and tell them you need two residence certificates they understand why and won't question it. You will need to give them twice as many photos of you (you'll need to give them 4 photos). Also when you go to the clinic and tell them you need two medical certificates they will do it without question. You'll pay twice as much as one. They know the rules at Immigration and the clinics. you do only need to fill out the application for residence certificate once and then note that you want two certificates from the one application.
  23. You would be advised to renew at least one day after your birthday as the new license expires 5 years after your next birthday. You thus get a 6 year license rather than a 5 year. You'll need two medical certificates and two residence certificates. you'll need a photocopy (front and back) of your current licenses plus two sets of photocopies of the usual pages of your passport. You don't need to fill out an application for the license. They fill it out and you sign it (or actually I think you sign it first and then they fill it out). The tests are: color, depth perception, reaction time and peripheral vision although they skip some sometimes. I don't see how an Agent can do this for you as you need to get your photo taken by their license machine. TIT however.\ (and yes you get to watch a video... sit near the front if you want to read the English subtitles).
  24. 30 seems to be a magic number. I heard from someone that Fahrenheit will be selecting 30 dancers to work when they reopen next week.
