  1. Decent diet and exercise should be able to do that in two or three months. I’m not as strict as I was a couple of years ago, I ended up weighing 60 kilos. Now I’m about 75 and want to get down to about 70. But the last two years I have basically been sitting down a lot, my last job was 15 months sitting on a chair all day. It’s one of the reasons I want to get back to work, get an active job, at the moment all I do is an hour a day fast walking on a treadmill. Weather doesn’t help? Being cold or wet all the time so limits outdoors activities.
  2. Don’t sound excessive mate, if you don’t suffer from gout or diabetes etc then it’s probably not a problem at all. I am just trying to limit the chances of having a gout flare up, as it is so painful and lasts around two weeks.
  3. Yeah, berries seem a good option, yet things like grapes are quite high in sugar. Dried fruit like dates are also very sugary. It’s a bit of a minefield working out which fruits to try to limit and what is a better option. But a bit of googling and you can soon plan a diet of regular healthy fruits and ones to consider as a treat rather than a daily thing.
  4. Come on mate, fat girls need loving too. I am not into skinny girls, rather a girl had some flesh on her.
  5. Yeah, a lot of people think eating a lot of fruit is healthy, but they are very sugary. For example, a mango contains nearly 25 grams of sugar, an average size banana about 15 grams. It’s fine in moderation, it’s why I only eat 2 pieces per day. People making fruit smoothies at home probably don’t realise how much sugar is in it. Have always had an interest in nutrition and health , but not always practised what I preach.😀
  6. It’s why I generally avoid processed foods , as they have so much sugar, salt, bad fats etc. Okay in small amounts, but it’s why people are so fat and unhealthy these days, too lazy to cook meals with fresh foods. Just live on ready meals and take aways.
  7. Robbie Williams looks set to buy his beloved Port Vale football club. Also apparently looking to do a behind the scenes documentary series similar to Ryan Reynolds Amazon series about his club Wrexham.
  8. Yeah, I use a non sugar substitute in my coffee, plus don’t add sugar to cereals either. Generally eat brown or whole meal bread, plus try to minimise white rice as well. Also only eat about two pieces of fruit per day.
  9. Stir fry tofu with mushrooms, garlic, onion, broccoli, spinach, rocket, chilli etc. With gnocchi in tomato paste.
  10. Just got back from the hospice Jan was staying at. Went there to make a large donation in her memory. It’s partly funded by the NHS, but is very reliant on donations to offer the level of care they need to. It’s been really hard for me since she passed, having to spend time in hospital because I fell apart mentally, but I feel so much better now, and I think this will help give me some sort of comfort in knowing the money will help others get the same great care that Jan got. Gonna miss the nurses and staff, they were just brilliant, and hopefully I can now move on in my life. I am gonna start looking for a job, not that I need the money, but more for the social interaction side of things and gets me out of the house. The way I look at it, February 1st is going to be the start of 2024 for me, as January was just a very difficult time for me.
  11. Just finished this latest Harlan Coben adaptation. Superb as ever his stories.
  12. Similar to yesterday but with black beans instead of sweetcorn. Burger and buns were in packs of two.
  13. If it was QPR they’d of been standing on the hard shoulder hitchhiking.
  14. That’s them mate, Montmorency capsules.
  15. Don’t think today’s youngsters have it in them to have a row. All ponced up bunch of gaylords in their skinny jeans and Hoodrich tops. Pricks!.
  16. Yeah, I done about 15 years with QPR in the 80’s and 90’s, fun in the day as it was a lot easier to get away with it. Now there’s too much CCTV so you’re likely to get nicked.
  17. Used to eat it a lot, but when I started getting gout, I looked into foods that cause flare ups. Probably the main reason I went vegan, although I am concerned about the treatment of animals farmed for food and the affect it has on the environment.
  18. Vegan burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato and vegan mayonnaise. All in a warm brioche roll. Potatoes with mustard, and sweetcorn mixed with fried onions, broccoli, spinach, coriander, olives and chilli. Topped off with Worcestershire sauce.
  19. Used to love liver, but it’s one of the worst things to eat if you suffer from gout, in fact any of the offal meats are. Shellfish are also bad for gout sufferers.

    Cricket

Gotta admit, after India’s first innings I thought we’d be grateful for a draw. Vindicates Baz and Ben playing a majority spin attack. Pope was magnificent, really broke India’s spirit I think.
  21. I get it in my left foot, painful as hell, even more painful than when I broke my right ankle crashing a motorcycle. I take cherry capsules from Holland and Barrett, and ever since, touch wood, I have not had a flare up, although not drinking and changing my diet has made a huge difference, Google the foods that are bad for gout sufferers and you might be able to manage it by making a few changes to your diet.
